The general is currently bugged on all beta realms. Waving your hand, singing, and offering cookies may cause him to spawn. But you're better off filing a bug report.

Currently bugged. I'm on the live server, and he won't spawn.. Been wandering around for about 10 minutes now looking for him.

I just killed him. He spawns at the northern end of the lake right where the map above says that he does. Like it says in the quest, he's on a golem and once you kill it, he hops off, then you kill him. Quest's working for me at least.

Just sat around his spawn for 20 minutes with 3 others and no sign.

Next quest Reinforcements for Loch Modan can be picked up from IF Throne room without handing in this quest chain.

he spawned for just at the northern edge of lake.. remember he is on a golem with a new model/skin so its not a usual golem model he is riding.

Yeah, he's bugged. File a ticket, then take the flight back to the quarry, then the FP to IF and head for the throne room.

He sometimes despawns right after you kill the golem and he jumps down.

That happened to me just now, so I went all the way back to the airport, then back again to his spawn point - the golem was already respawned, and this time I was ready to tag the general FAST when he jumped off.

oh nvm i figured it out, i'm an 80 so overkill makes him bug, i just hit him a few times with my staff and then he hops off and i can kill him

He's still a bit buggy, when you kill his golem he will sometimes despawn, but if you keep trying eventually he will be killable, took me 3 attempts before he stayed to die.

Appears to be bugged for me. I ended up wandering around the lake for about 15 minutes and never saw him.

EDIT: It was actually last night that I wasn't able to find him. After logging in just now, it appears that he is indeed present. No problems killing the golem or Grimaxe.

had the 'jumps off and disappears' bug a couple of times this morning, but changing down my gear so the golem didn't die instantly seems to have helped, and I was able to kill him successfully after that.

Been bugged on Magtheridon for at least 12 hours, and I've had a ticket open since then, but nothing so far. Quite frustrating as I do not want to skip this quest.

I had the same issue tonight on Medivh. I pathed all the way around the lake, just for kicks. I then waited 15+ minutes at the northern part of the lake. I even moved away from the area (took a flight path to IF and back again), and even tried relogging. All to no avail. A ticket is in, but as mentioned here, I'll go to IF tomorrow to pick up the next part of the chain. Pity. This is the 4th bug I've seen today, and it's very disheartening.

This is bugged, or you have to wait an hour for him to randomly spawn on a battlefield where you don't get xp or drops from the mobs.

The follow-up takes you to Ironforge throne room, where you can grab the next quest and continue on your way.

Currently still bugged on Magtheridon. Pretty damn sloppy of Blizz, this mob was bugged on beta, bugged on ptr, and now bugged on live. Sloppy is all you can call it.

Watched a dwarf shaman kill him on Kel'Thuzad, waited for about 3minutes, and killed him when he spawned.

78,34 is his spawn point. His respawns time is 1 and 1,5 minutes. If he doesn't, he is bugged and you should report it to a GM. I did as well and when I later returned, he was working exactly like he should be.

This is now apparently a known bug. Using the in game help request feature and searching for General Grimaxe returns a message that they're "working to solve the issue" I'm going to wait a bit longer before giving up and going to IF like most everyone else.

Well I have been hanging out around the area north of the lake where he is supposed to spawn for about half an hour now and haven't seen him. I submitted a ticket and and going to log out because I am tired. Will report back tomorrow with news.

He has been hotfixed but will not work until a realm restart which should be maintenance time for all realms.

As of 12:07 PM EST, 12/3/2010, Grimaxe now respawns properly on Tichondrius. On other realms, I am unsure.

He is about 300 yards SOUTH of the questgiver, on the airstrip. He is atop a Golem, and you can see him there but you can't damage him until the Golem goes down. On the way I had to kill one or two Pyromancers. Basically it is the first Golem you'll see on the bombing run (the quest right before this one).

ok i figured it out if anyone is still interested. there's a golem in the middle of the fighting place near where the marker on the map is. Destroy that golem and the general will hop out, take him down and presto you're done.

Madoran--works fine. Go south, to end of path, out on ice, near water. He's standing on tallish black golem (78/34). He jumps down after first shot then 4 allies also shoot at him til he dies. After turn-in to Commander Stonebreadker, you will fly back to Gol'Bolar Quarry.

It is now fixed, you must kill the Dark Iron Golem and he is on top of it. Once you kill the golem you kill him. Easy lvl 10 warrior

I'm on Scarlet Crusade. Went to the front of the frozen lake, saw him clear as day. Killed his Golem, killed him no problems

He is not bugged people. walk around and look for a dark iron golum with a dwarf on its shoulders. kill the golum and he will just off and attack. that is general grimaxe. Happy playing wow users!

Grimaxe is at the beginning of the icy water he's a Golem which you first have to attack and then Grimaxe jumps out then u have to kill him and loot axe

This quest is under the effect of the new MoP Quest Reward system on the Beta. When I did this on my Gnome Monk (Awesome Mistweaver animations!) I were offered the 2 Leather Chests and nothing else.

As of the day of the Pre-Legion's patch's launch, this quest is once again bugged. Blizz apparently never saw the PTR report.

After killing Grimaxe's golem, the general will leap from it and instantly despawn as he hits the ground. This makes completing the zone's storyline impossible for the time being.

EDIT: As of a hotfix earlier today, they seem to have deleted Grimaxe from Wyrmrest Accord-US entirely. He is still around, albeit bugged on other servers.

Kill General Grimaxe at the Ironforge Airfield.

Description

With you leading the way, we've finally broken the momentum of the Dark Iron attack. General Grimaxe, the Dark Iron leader, is attempting to rally his troops from the center of their lines on the frozen lake to the south.

He stands atop one of their new dark iron golems, shouting orders to his men. If he succeeds in rallying them, they may still be able to overpower us. You must prevent that, <name>. Destroy the golem guarding him, then kill General Grimaxe himself. He is the key to our victory.
