Slight warning: a few seconds after retrieving the quest item from the machine inside Thelgen Rock, a huge water elemental called Torrention will spawn. He's not extremely hard or anything, but he is packing about 800 health so it's a good idea to not go into it with low health.

Is this supposed to give you some RP event after? He says, "let's have a look" then... nothing. Am I missing something here?

If you have note noticed yet, in the same cave area of this is a larger spider with a silver dragon around it's frame called Leech Widow.

Ok regardless of the reference. This is without doubt one of the most annoying cave layouts in the game. You can run around in circles over and over and never find the machine. Like what happened to me this morning.

Not entirely sure how your supposed to find this infernal contraption but there you go, I just gave up and moved on lol

The machine is in a large pool at the bottom of the cave sitting next to the back wall. Fight the water elenental then pick up the quest he drops easy xp.

As a gnome frost mage, this quest scared the crap out of me. After retrieving the item, I turned around and thought, 'wow, my water elemental pet sure looks big...oh WOW' :)

Is there some kind of RP event that i'm missing here? after I turned this in the guy said "Lets see here.." then nothing. I talked ot the chick next to him and she was saying it was urgent that i get over to menethel ASAP. Sooo....I get the feeling i mised something big..could anyone fill me in please? This is bothering the crap out of me.

I just went thru the cave several times, stayed to the left, crisscrossed both pools (both very shallow with no elementals) and no machine or record. I went into every nook and cranny that I could find. Lots of ore and spiders, and that's it.

this is really hard to find in the dark.
enter the cave and take 1st left at 51.28 62.13 toward what looks like daylight.
take a left at the fork at 48.75 62, stay to the left at the quickly upcoming fork.
you'll come to a pool, stay left
take next left at 46.24 59.50, you then come to an upper level right, lower level left. go left
then another upper right, lower left, stay lower left at about 46.72 62.50
you then come to another pool, the seismograph is at back of this pool.
whew!

Patch 8.3.0

While doing this with my brand new Lightforged Draenei the boss Torrention was already in the pool and after I got the quest done, that big elemental appeared again.

Also, when walking out of the pool, rare Leech Widow appeared, got some greens.

Description

I'm feeling slightly less wobbly now, so I'm going to start setting up the level for my final measurements here. There's one last thing I need from you.

There's a seismograph set up deep within Thelgen Rock to record any movements in the earth. If things have been continuing to shift since the cataclysm, this'll tell us.

The seismograph's at the very bottom of the cave; find it and bring the record it's created back to me.
