Lava Fishing allows you to see and fish up Magma Thresher in lava around the Waking Shores zone.

In order to lava fish you need to have reached renown level 15 with the Iskaara Tuskarr. Once you've done that, you receive a quest to visit Tavio, who informs you that they can make a Polished Basalt Bracelet which allows you to lava fish and see Magma Thresher pools as well as Overheated Magma Thresher pools. When fishing from Overheated pools, you have a chance to get two fish per cast.

In order to make the bracelet you will need three sea-polished basalt rocks. These can easily be found in Waking Shores near the fishing trainer Danielle Anglers. They're can be difficult to pick up because of their size but they will clearly sparkle as quest items. Once you have three they will stop sparkling and you can return to Tavio to receive the upgrade. You will not receive a physical item but you will have the lava fishing ability from there on out.

I don't know anything about iskara tuskarr or reknown BS,
I have a task for the travellers log to catch 20 fish from lava areas in Dragon Isles so, I found a quiet spot and started fishing.
It didn't take very long for me to think here we go again, ANOTHER long winded stupid Blizzard grind to waste half of my life with horrendous low drop rates for required items, and so it proved.
Is it worth investigating this Tuskarr rep thing just so I can catch 20 fish for a few points toward the travellers log reward, that finishes in 25 days?
My play time is limited to a couple of hours most evenings so probably not, my option seems to be to catch one fish every hour or so, or to give up on yet another wow activity.
I am utterly sick to death of these super low drop rates for whatever in WoW or spending days/weeks/years grinding out some rep or other to get something years later as it takes so long.
I can't even USE the damned reward in Dragon Isles bcoz its a normal flying mount!
Why do Blizzard insist on this BS, grind this, grind that, why can't they just make things SIMPLE so those of us with lives can still enjoy the game and get something other than frustration, annoyance and old age?
Sorry for venting, I again didn't mean to it just kinda happens!

As a footnote, I caught some temporal dragonhead from a lava pool but apparently they don't count toward the travellers log in the adventure guide, that says "Catch fish in lava areas in the Dragon Isles" despite the description saying quite clearly "A common fish, blah blah" and being caught in a lava pool. err Blizzard might wanta look at your own requirements for these things.
