This object is a small box of switches located in Uldum, in the sand, at 78.03, 64.88. It is not interactive, nor display a name, unless you are in possession of a Decaying Fusion Core. When you possess a Decaying Fusion Core you can click on the object and immediately transform into a large rolling sphere of fire. The Uldum zone landscape remains the same but is now populated by hundreds and thousands of the Amathet race which the sphere rolls over and apparently kills. While transformed the action bar is replaced with a bar with only 2 actions, a speed boost and an exit. When I did this there did not appear to be an objective or a reward for this event. I did not see any time limit & I was evently booted as I believe I had ranged too far from the location of the switch. The Decaying Fusion Core is consumed on use, it also had a duration of 14 days from when it first dropped.

If you quested in Uldum, you may be familiar with the Gnomebliteration quest. Every once in a while, people would ask for that quest to be made into a repeatable daily, offering to pay gold for the privilege. It appears that Blizzard listened. It also appears that the Fusion Core Activation Switch is only usable once per day per character. As a side note, the Amathet (I'm guessing, didn't read the actual name, but they looked like Amathet. I was giggling too much to notice) sounded like the leper gnomes from Gnomebliteration when the fiery ball vehicle rolled over them. And now I'm going to see if my other toons can use it!
