Those would be Emblems of Heroism. Emblems of Valor drop in 25-man raids.

While this is true, his question was "why does it say that it drops Emblems of Valor on heroic mode?" which is an honest question, since the heroic drops for the chest list Emblem of Valor as a drop.

Sorry to say, but if you've been doing heroics for a while, there's little chance that this loot will be much of an upgrade.
Oh, uhm. For HUNTERS, that is. I don't know about the other classes. But yeah, if you've done the heroic Nexus and gotten the epic wrists there, then there's really nothing in here for you. Except for the shards and the emblem(s? Can anyone confirm wether or not it also drops the emblem of valor?).

Also, who the hell is the Sword of Justice supposed to appeal to? I see it and think 'rogues', but I'm just not sure.

Figured someone else might find this useful, a list of the timers with speeches and the increased wave sizes. Not positive on the times of the automatic defenses, may be off by a few seconds, as I was watching the stopwatch while trying to tank ><

0:00 - Tell Brann to start it up, no combat.
0:45 - Enter combat, the weak bolts that don't really do much begin to fire.
0:50 - First type of wave begins spawning. (3x Dark Rune Protectors)
1:40 - The next 'cutscene' begins.
1:45 - First Dark Matter orbs and Shadow Word: Pain begin.
2:00 - Second mob type begins spawning in addition to first. (2x Dark Rune Stormcallers)
3:20 - Next 'cutscene' begins.
3:25 - Searing Gaze attacks begin.
3:45 - First Iron Golem Custodian spawns.
5:00 - Final 'cutscene' starts.
5:15 - Victory! All remaining mobs zapped and despawn, chest becomes lootable.

I have heard of many groups having trouble with this encounter on Heroic mode, myself included the first couple of times i did it. After reading the above post and realizing the encounter itself is based entirely on time progression and NOT the downing of the mobs we decided to try a whole different tactic of using 2 heals and 2 tanks.

Our group consisted of a holy priest, a ele shaman, a prot paladin, blood Dk and a ret paladin (thats me). The Dk was duel specced to tank and I was duel specced as heals. The mobs were split between 2 the tanks, with 1 healer on each tank and the ele shaman providing dps support. Although we killed few of the mobs, the fact that each tank had dedicated heals meant that neither came even close to death, and both the tanks were easily able to hold aggro. The shaman downed as many mobs as he could. As soon as the 5:15 minutes is up all the mobs despawn and the encounter is over.

It is important to remember that the lasers that begin at 3:15 must still be actively avoided.

I realize the conventional means of defeating this encounter (1 tank, 1 healer, 3dps) is quite possible and for some groups may not be troubling, this advice is for those groups that struggle with it and are looking for a different strategy before throwing in the towel.

Very tank heavy fight. To start the event, talk to Brann and tell him to go forward. You may or may not want to clear the mobs down the path. I reccomend talking to him and clearing as you go, because if you can't kill the mobs before he gets into the combat you may want to reconsider doing this "boss".

When he's on the steps and you're ready, talk to him again. Small lasers will start shooting at you, but the damage isn't much at all. Enemies will soon start piling in through the steps. AE them down as fast as you can.

If you don't have a tank who can keep multiple enemies under constant control against AE, then you're screwed. However, you may want to let the DPS on your team know to wait a few seconds after the new batch of mobs enters combat before AEing, to let your tank grab threat.

I find it's the black holes in phase 2 that cause the most damage. They hit for a large AoE, and put a MAGIC debuff on that doubles damage taken. It can cause a healer or DPS to be instantly annihilated if it happens at the wrong time.

My advice for this encounter (especially on heroic - I don't normal mode it, so I'm not sure), is to watch the 2nd head (the one on the right going into the room). When it starts forming a black hole, spread out away from the tank(s), watch for where it's going, wait for it to pop, then return to action.

If you have someone that can dispel magic, it can be less of an issue, but if you have a druid healer, you really have to watch the black holes. They're deadly.

This fight is all about tank survival. If possible some dps should switch specs and heal the tank, as 2 dps is more than enough to keep the # of mobs under control. Also the tank must remember to avoid the beams.

Warning to all Paladins out there: Do not rely on only spamming Consecration during the encounter as it might cause you to be ineligible to loot Tribunal Chest.

I experienced this with my first Paladin, and successfully replicated the bug with my second paladin.
