The Dark Iron Spy have small compound in the far eastern side of Dun Morogh. Ironband's Compound has about 15 spies roaming around in the open, and one inside the building. No attempt at hiding or concealing their base, so that must be why they are lousy spies. They can found from 82, 60 to 83, 57 to 85, 57 to 85, 60.

Originally, Dark Iron Scheming was the way of introducing the Dark Iron Dwarves as bad guys. You would run into them again in Loch Modan, Wetlands, and then Searing Gorge / Blackrock Mountain / Blackrock Depths. At one time, Blackrock was the top dungeon, and more then few adventurers ended their careers there.

This quest has pretty much been the same since BC, which makes it one of the few quests to have not been updated by the time WoD and Legion rolled out.

They are oddly out of place considering the original story line. Back in Vanilla, Princess Moira Bronzebeard and Emperor Dagran Thaurissan ordered them here to spy on the Dwarves and the Airfield battle didn't exist. Now that Dagran is dead and Moira is Queen, they reworked future quests to suggest that there are a faction of Dark Iron Dwarves which are working against her. Possibly a coup that may show up in future story lines?

For the quest, you need to kill 5 of the Dark Iron Spy and obtain the plans. With 16 of them running around, it is easy get your kills and get out as long as someone isn't farming them. The respawn timer seems to be on the long side, The hard part is waiting for the "boss" in the building to respawn, who does not count as a spy. They do not share spawn points with any other mob, which is nice.

They do drop a mix of white and grey armor, as well as an occasional green. They do drop Linen Cloth, but there are far better places to farm it then here.
