This is a 2-part boss fight, the first part is killing Lockmaw, the second is killing Augh. You can do both of these separately, so for that reason pull the croc back a bit so that Augh doesn't aggro right away. (you are out of combat until you pull Augh).

Phase 1: Lockmaw
Avoid clouds of dust. These spawn where Augh whirlwinds and where Lockmaws tail is. They cause massive, avoidable damage.

Non tanks should worry about being marked with Scent of Blood. When marked, a small red arrow will point at them and 3 (heroic: 4) non-elite crocolisks will come chomp on the affected target. These small crocolisks need to be burned down. For this reason, I'd suggest stacking on the boss. Hunters should be close and feign death after all the crocks have jumped on them.

Augh has a presence in phase 1, but is easily avoidable. Dont get into his whirlwind and you should be fine.

Around 40% or so he will go into a venomous rage, and this ~~can~~ should be tranq'd or soothed off.

There is lots of poison so nature resist comes in handy.

After Lockmaw is dead, drink up, heal up, and rez any dead rogues and mages you have, and be ready for Augh.

Phase 2: Augh

Augh is a crazy little bugger. His frenzy cannot be removed. He will cast dragons breath (short cone which disorients as well as does damage). Stay out of his whirlwinds, and heal through the blow darts. In heroic, he was pretty easy compared to any other heroic encounter.

I would not be surprised if this gets patched to make Phase 2 start as soon as lockmaw dies.

Heroic only? He seems to leave half-way through the Lockmaw fight in normal mode.

Some weird &*!@ happened on this fight on heroic today.. healer was healing, suddenly got teleported out of the instance. I had to pick up heals until he got back to us, but it was really lame.

we skipped augh at the entrance,
and when we killed the croc there was no lewt.

In phase 1 before you aggro lockmaw have heals and ranged dps go to the right or left and jump up on the crockodile statues behind lockmaw. This will prevent the adds from getting to healer or ranged dps. The adds will still spawn but can be picked up by the tank a lot easier since they wont be running off after the ranged dps :) AOE the adds down and back on the boss.

Phase 2 doesnt start immediately. Augh runs out and says he's da boss and just stands there until the tank pulls. Ranged dps and heals should get down and run back to the entery area before starting this stage. Periodically he picks a random player and whirlwinds toward him. If that person is still on the croc statues he will glitch and reset.

Run away from his whirlwinds and dps him down.

PS Its a little tricky getting up on statues. Easiest way is to jump on statue platform while mounted, dismount and then jump up by rear leg. Takes a little practice but I do it quite easily now ;)

I just had an epiphany about this boss, so I came here for confirmation. I'm quite surprised that there hasn't been a post on the reference of this boss.

The reference is the famous duo from Nickelodeon TV Series: Avatar: The Last Air Bender.

Augh is a giant pygmy, being as high as three of his brothers standing on top of each other. I am sure that is a reference to Og, the giant king of the Amorites, who is named several times i the bible. Og was defeted in the battle at Edrei when Moses and his men invaded the region of Argob, Og's kingdom in Bashan (probably nowadays Syria).

Amazing that no one mentioned (not wowikki, not wowhead, no one here) that Augh is not a boss fight on Normal! He is present when you first enter the area and yes, you pull him and he eventually fades away, saying he's going to feed you to the croc, blah blah. He reappears during your fight with Lockmaw, but once he disappears (when lockmaw is killed), he doesn't come back. So just wanted to say that for those who may be waiting, and waiting, and waiting for him to appear. He won't.

Also a note about the statues being mentioned as a spot healers and dps can avoid adds. This was changed a long time ago in a patch, so don't bother.

Side note for Multi-boxers:
I do this entire instance with with just me and my 4 accounts. I can solo-man (4 toon) most cata instances, but this one is the only one which still grants rep wearing tabbards on normal mode. For this fight I just stack on the tank. I never move out of clouds, nor do I do any dispelling, decursing etc. Multi-boxing is a ton of fun, but fights that require constant movement can be whipe after whipe since I spend the entire time going from window to window. Thus the lazier and much more easy, stack on tank, crocs come for those who have scent of blood quickly get aggroed by the tank, no taunt needed and all that good stuff. Now if I can do that with only 4 toons, I imagine anyone can with only worrying about there own. If you're on Dalaran and need a toon ran through this, hit me up. Always glad to help and I'm sure I'll always have alts who need the rep :)

If you kill Lockmaw first, then wait to kill Augh, he will repeat the following:

Lockmaw

Viscous Poison – Lockmaw spits a glob of poison onto the location of a random player, inflicting 17 Nature damage to every player within 5 yards of the location, slowing their movement speed by 30%, and additionally inflicting 11 Nature damage every 2 seconds for 12 sec.
Dust Flail – Lockmaw begins to whip his tail up and down for 5 sec. Lockmaw deals 14 Nature damage every second to players behind him and their chance to hit is reduced by 50% for 10 sec. The damage dealt by Dust Flail increases by 50% for each second Lockmaw whips his tail.
Venomous Rage – When Lockmaw's remaining health reaches 30%, he enters a Venomous Rage. This increases his damage dealt by 25%.
Scent of Blood – Lockmaw causes a random player to bleed, inflicting 2 Physical damage every 2 seconds for 30 sec. The scent of the blood causes Frenzied Crocolisks to attack the affected player.
Frenzied Crocolisk – These vicious crocolisks periodically join the fight from the nearby riverbeds. They try to attack any player who has the Scent of Blood effect on them.
- Vicious Bite – Frenzied Crocolisks bite their current enemy target, inflicting Physical damage equal to 50% of a normal melee attack and additionally inflicting 2 Physical damage every 2 seconds for 15 sec. The Vicious Bite stacks up to 3 times.

Augh

While Lockmaw is alive, Augh is immune to damage and will periodically enter the fight stealthed then use his Paralytic Blow Dart, Whirlwind, or Smoke bomb abilities before retreating.

After Lockmaw dies in Heroic Difficulty, Augh steals Lockmaw's loot and becomes attackable.

Paralytic Blow Dart – Augh shoots a Paralytic Blow Dart at a random player, immediately inflicting 13 Nature damage, reducing melee, ranged, and spell casting speeds by 40%, and additionally inflicting 5 Nature damage every 2 seconds for 9 sec.
Whirlwind – Augh spins around like mad towards a random player for 20 sec, inflicting 23 Physical damage every second to surrounding enemies within 4 yards.
Smoke Bomb – Augh explodes a Smoke Bomb at his feet, stunning any enemy target within 5 yards for 3 sec.
Frenzy – Augh enters a Frenzy, increasing his attack speed by 60% and damage dealt by 60%.
Dragon's Breath – Augh breathes fire in a 10 yard long 60 degree frontal cone, inflicting 22 Fire damage to every enemy target within the cone and disorienting them for 3 sec.
