Aggra is Thrall's girlfriend/mate since The Shattering/Cataclysm. While Thrall was kicking around Nagrand on his vision quest to save the world (this is what he does with his free time), Aggra was his shaman-stuff teacher. They didn't get off to such a great start but eventually she invited herself to join him on his saving the world hi-jinks, and now they hang out in the whirlpool at the centre of the world that threatens to swallow all three continents whole (this is what Thrall and his friends do for fun), making sure we lowly adventurers know who's boss.

All I know is while standing in the Maelstrom and questing around the opening area in Deepholme, all I hear is her over and over again...

I'd feel better if this random, Mary-Sue idiot hadn't been thrown in to replace the love-hate relationship that's been fostering between Jaina and Thrall all these years. -_-

It's not that Aggra is a bad character ,not at all but does she really fit well as thralls mate? The reason why most anticipated jaina is not only becuase of the code in gnomeregan but she has alot to do with warcraft game and has shown up time and time again since warcraft 3.Aggra only became known through the shattering novel written in 2010.Thrall and jaina have been through alot in warcraft history and it would have been a great fairy tail ending to see the two get married and finally end the war between the allaince and the horde.
we have not seen aggra take place in anything important gamewise like how jaina participated in the wrathgate quest.
so we really see or learn nothing of her outside of her being a single quest giver to enter deepholme.why can't we see her participate in anything major in the game ? .I mean guys you always wanna see the hero of the story end up with the gal he has had adventures with right? imagine if indiana jones ended his movies by telling the his lovely female adventurer that he was going back home to his wife(who we never saw the whole movie), how anti-climactic would that be?

I wish she had a more unique character design since she's become more of an important character since the 4.2 quest that's coming out. Everything about her character development and her interaction with Thrall is quite cute and funny at times, can't wait to see what becomes of this relationship in the patches to come.

I disagree, Aggra is much more toolish than Jaina. If you recall from WC3, Jaina had to take up Arthas' cup and lead some of the Alliance away from the oncoming Scourge. Likewise, she had to ally herself with the Horde when they were still enemies and later, the hostile nelfs. She also founded the only Alliance outpost on Kalimdor and tried to keep the peace for 6 years whilst trying to hide Aegwynn and save the world from impending doom on occasion.

And of course she wanted to save Arthas. She knew him as he was and loved him; their breakup was pure politics. Arthas was a good man with pure intentions up to a point and she knew that part of Arthas was still trapped within the Lich King. And she was right.

Aggra, on the other hand, is one of those overly focused characters that initially shows contempt for the newcomer and eventually comes to respect (read: love) him after she sees how pure of heart, yet tormented he is.

*Spoiler Alert*
Then they get married in just two major patches.

The books are irrelevant because most people that play don't read them. Sure, there could have been a lot of character development, but if Wowwiki is to be believed, it's more of the same "I dislike you for being in a circumstance I do not understand."

She is a bit of a Mary-Sue. Her only true flaw is having a narrow perspective, but that gets tempered by the above.

To prove that, let's take something from the Shattering novel.

"Aggra is exactly what a female orc is supposed to be: Strong, intelligent, and incredibly loyal to those she holds dearly. She is young, and yet a very powerful shaman, fit to teach Thrall, former warchief of the Horde, as he prepares for his vision quest."

Okay, so she, a young orc, has enough expertise to teach one of, if not the most powerful shaman on Azeroth and likely the Outlands? Doesn't that sound pretty Sue-ish?

On a side note:
Is anyone else reminded of the EVA children from Evangelion?
