These guys patrol the floor in front of Ignis in groups of two. The pull requires some good timing.
They will cast a whirlwind of flame each, at the same time, which will go for a dps or healer seemingly at random. The whirlwind will really hurt you if you get hit - you can turn around and run away from it, but only if you time it perfectly. Seems like extra speed enchants or a meta gem might really help in getting away from it.

If you get hit by the whirlwind you'll get knocked into the air 3 times in quick succession. It's heavy damage and you'll be at less than 10% HP if it hits you. A good trick is to ensure both your tanks are positioned at the base of the ramp where the floor is flat, both against the walls on left and right - to minimize the chance of one DPS or healer getting hit by two flame whirlwinds at once.

Ensure your DPS/healers are positioned in a way that they will only be knocked UP the ramp should they be hit by a whirlwind. Getting knocked down the ramp by a whirlwind will most certainly kill you from the fall damage - so kiting one of these mobs up the ramp seems unwise as it will certainly unleash a whirlwind which will hit the raid in the back.

In all likelihood a healer will be pursued or hit by one of these whirlwinds so the healer in danger must notify the other healers that they've stopped healing and are running.

Killing the last pair of these mobs is considerably easier as you can move out into the open flat area and can spread out more.

Also note that when you fight these guys you have to down BOTH of them. If you manage to kill one but wipe to the other, it'll respawn.

All I can say is, these guys remind me of Street Fighter's Ken's max power ultimate.
You can 'nearly' hear "shinku ... SHORYUU-KEN!" as your raid members get thrown up by a fully charged uppercut.
It hurts for about that amount too.

These guys are horrible. The luck involved in any one person surviving them is incredible.

Not only does the whirlwind hit Hard, they are fast, and have a decent range. Oh, and they bounce you, I've gotten hit 10+ times in a row by one, as it just chased after me after knocking me up.

If I hadn't had an AMS up, I'd of died on the spot, never-mind the fall damage after getting bounced 10 times. If they pin you up against a wall? Your just dead.

I don't mind the ability, but the interval of hits needs to be lowered significantly, the tornado slowed down, or the cast time increased so we have more than a second or two warning before we go flying.

When fighting these on the flat area in front of Ignis, I found I could get away from the whirlwinds by diving into the water pools on either side of the room. I DPSed from just outside them and jumped in when they came after me.

I'll be straight-up: these guys suck. They come in pairs and are only marginally less lethal than the Molten Colossi at the top of the ramp. Some basics:

- 1.6m health
- They have a shield and can block (though only very little)
- Appear to have fairly decent magic resistance. They were resisting about 25% of most of the spells we were tossing at them

In addition to their melee swing, they have two basic attacks:

Fire Blast is cast approximately every 15 second at (it seems) the targets with the highest aggro value (hopefully the tank). It causes around 8k fire damage (base).

Superheated Winds was the fire tornado that was causing us so much trouble. The Magma Ragers summon these every 20-30 seconds, with a cast time of about 1 second. The tornado that appears causes 3k base fire damage per hit and will continue to hit targets as long as they remain in range (it has a pushback effect that should, in theory, toss you out of range after a few ticks). It ticks approximately 4 times per second. People near the edge of the AoE might only take one hit; three to four hits are more common, and one melee DPS managed to get hit by it 8 times in a row at one point. The proper strategy seems to be for melee DPS to turn around and run as soon as they see the Magma Rager start to cast Superheated Winds. When I wasn't tanking, I was able to get him out fast enough to completely avoid damage a few times.

The Superheated Wind will follow a random DPS or healer around until it expires (about 10 seconds later). Best strategy is to run away from the wind, and make sure you don't go near another player (which I saw a few times).

Melee attacks take place every 2 seconds and hit for around 15k damage. The Magma Rager will substitute melee attacks with its Fire Blast when the fire blast is off cooldown.

The best strategy for the Magma Rager packs seems to be to pull them as far apart as possible and burn them down in sequence, just like we did tonight. Once our DPS and healers understand how to deal with the Superheated Winds, these will cease to be a problem.

Some of the trash mobs in Ulduar have received the following changes: the Molten Colossus should do less damage in normal mode, the Superheated Winds cast by Magma Ragers should have a smaller radius, and a slightly slower periodic damage, and Faceless Horrors have had their health reduced.

I guess that means it'll be slightly easier to run away from and slightly less lethal and not OMFG SUPER ULTRA AIR COMBO if it does connect.
