These have a 100% droprate of Crystallized Life. They ALWAYS drop 1-3. But you can only see it when your faction controls Wintergrasp. When they do this you will have the Essence of Wintergrasp buff.

A huge bonus to controlling Wintergrasp is the quick farming of air, water, fire, earth, and shadow crystals by means of the "revenant" elementals. Mobs within Wintergrasp that have a 100% droprate on these include:

Fire--http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=30873
Earth--http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=30876

Each have a guaranteed droprate of one to three crystals and are usually surrounded by smaller elementals of the same type with a 25% drop chance.

If, like on my server, Eternal Earths are so cheap they are barely worth auctioning, than these mobs will only serve to annoy and dismount you while you travel. At least the Earth Elementals in the area stop to throw ice at you so they don't give much of a chase >:|

An earlier comment said the benefit to controlling wintergrasp is that you get to farm these. This implied I could still sneak in and farm them if I didnt control Wintergrasp which is wrong. I flew around Wintergrasp for 45 minutes trying to find one of these mobs and noticed a horde player attacking invisible creatures.

Important Note: You must control Wintergrasp to even see this mobs there.

Farming eternal earth out of these increases about 10% if you're an miner.

taking in consideration that the drop chances for 1, 2 and 3 crystallized are the same;
average without mining: 2 for each
average granted by mining: 2 with 10% chance or 2 x 0.1 = 0.2 each

average granted for a miner: 2.2

I'm leveling a JC and could not find eternal or crystallized earth for love or money. This mob and his little buddies really helped me with that bottleneck. I believe their range is greater than the yellow dots on the map and the minor elementals have a decent drop rate too.
