Naa, he waited in Azeroth being the most feared NPC, they heard rumours in Outland that he was coming and the mobs out there pleaded to Blizzard to make him stay in Azeroth. He got bored and he ventures to Northrend undercover, and when Arthas discovered, he was like "oh $%^&!"

The reason this page lists him as having only 2 million HP is because that's the only proven amount we have, which was recorded as the total amount of damage done to him by an Alliance raid before they all died. He still had not dropped to 99% HP.

Saurfang's MS doesnt cause 500% weapon damage, it causes 500% death per second, and hits the entire raid for a 500 year 50% healing converts to damage debuff, causes runic power/runes/rage/mana/energy/focus to all stop regenerating/generating, and adds a 6 billion damage per tick bleed on the raid, the target is already dead before anything elts hits.

Saurfang's Cleave bounces off of all primary targets and chains over the entire raid if spaced too closely together (anyone within 40 yards of the unfortunate target/bystander/prey). each hit of cleave does 1 trillion damage

Saurfangs rage now has a 35% chance of pulling the guards and giving them the Uber Debuff of Saurfang which gives 101% haste, 10 billion healing and energy/rage/mana/runic power per second

Saurfang's shield charge causes saurfang to plow into you, taking you through the wall, another wall, more walls, wooden spikes, 5 nearby mountains, icecrown, a few unlucky dragons, The white lady, draenor, and back through the roof of warsong hold for 1 million damage per person, except the target, who suffers Saurfangitis, which deletes your entire wow account, deals 10 quadrillion damage, 10000% durability damage, and mounts your main;s head on the wall behind saurfang

High Overlord Saurfang's Saurfang's Rage hits Varidus the Flenser for 11389.

It appears Saurfang's Rage still does 8-12k damage to whoever hits him, which is a shame because it needs to be something like 80-120k for a 1 hit ko (like it was pre bc)

Saurfang was sent to Northrend because Thrall knew that everyone rolling Death Knight would have to pass by him. Saurfang would not only spit and throw bananas and apples at you all at once, he would follow your character around until you reached the throne room, at which point he would get bored taunting you and destroy your character. If you ever tried to attack Saurfang, even while pacified, you would get Cleaved instantly.

Thrall decided it was too much of a risk and told him that there were more things to Cleave in Northrend. Saurfang swam all the way there before WotLK was released hearing this news.

I almost feel sorry for the Lich king. I doubt he gets any sleep at all anymore, now that he knows that the High overlord Saurfang is after him. And I hardly doubt that killing his son will help him at all. Poor guy, I bet we wont even stand a chance to get to the Lich king; Saurfang will surely be there first and then Arthas is dead. It somewhat took 0,739sec for him to kill me, Shadow of Death takes a while, and you become immune until you the ghoul have risen up.

After becoming a ghoul, I survived long enough for him to use Bladestorm on me.
It's a miracle he allowed me to ress, I don't want to ask how or why, but...
I've never been so scared of an NPC ever ;D

Saurfang went to Org to get a mount, asked for an Alliance Charger and got one.

Saurfang decided to be nice and let the Alliance have an outpost in Borean.

Saurfang could easily complete all the quests, but Blizzard needs money from players so they sate his need to kill by giving him small planets to destroy.

Overlord Saurfang only needs his cleave to split Azeroth in pieces like it happened in Outlands with the dark portals...

Speaking honestly, there was a 2 group raid (60+ ppl) to kill him actually in my server, it was a 6 min. fight, Epic, they downed him to arround 50%, count of hp remaining after "damage control" was FAR superior than 3 million.

No need to say he only needed to CLEAVE ALL THE FIGHT

During the next week he was sending alliance fingers as gifts to his followers but kept their tonges and used them as wrapping ribbons.

He is practically Unkillable, or better said, HE IS UNKILLABLE (unless someone would perfectly organize and kite like 20 bosses to him) and there was a t8 epic raid with 40-50 ppl with the full set....

Edit: i just realized even his spits may be deadly enough to kill Arthas, or small planets ^^

Also take note the aliance outpost cannot be considered to be in the actual continent, even the map shows it on the very edge of it as a port, such is the power of saurfang, that he wouldnt allow his enemies to even build in the actual landmass, while he, mighty and godly he built his outpost right in the middle of the map, spiders or not, he only needed a cleave to make the actual foundation for the construction, thats not epic, thats LEGENDARY.

Varok Saurfang is the brother of Broxigar the Red. It was he who stopped Sargares the Great, Dark god of the Nameless Void from stepping through the Legion Gate 10,000 years ago during the first invasion of the Burning Legion. Had the Well of Eternity on Azeroth fallen into the control of the legion, no world in the universe would have been able to withstand the Legion's Burning Crusade. That is not to mention the fact, that the old gods would have been freed from their eternal prison, which IS the Well of Eternity itself. Just as Sargares was about to step through the Legion Gate, Brox jumped from the back of Soridormi, Nozdormu's prime consort, into the Legion Gate being transported to one of the Legion Homeworlds. In a matter of moments he slaughtered hundreds of unsuspecting demons as they were preparing to step through into a conquered world. Sargares was distracted by this little annoyance and he himself then moved to kill the little orc with his jagged blade, a broken sword known as Gorribal. Then, with all his might, Broxigar lept into the air at Sargeras striking at him and wounding him in the leg just above the knee. It was this wound along with the orcs initial appearance that broke Sargares' concentration on the portal long enough to allow Malfurion and Illidan, who were working on the other side of the portal, above the well on the backs of Ysera and Alexstrasza themselves, to collapse the portal on Sargeras before he could step through the Legion Gate. Once Sargares realized his spells had been abated and the portal would collapse he went mad and in a fury he attempted to enter the closing portal. He was only able to enter but never exited. This act banished him to a void between the nether and the world. But Brox's life was ended by Sargeras, as the demon entered the portal he slew Broxigar with a retaliatory blow. With his last breaths, Brox sealed his place in history as the only mortal to have wounded the Leader of the Legion.

Broxigar the Red died; he died not a mere honorable death, but was struck down in a blaze of glory nearly unheard of in the history of the Orcs. Broxigar was haunted by the ghosts of his fallen comrades from the war between the Orcs and Humans. He hated himself for surviving the glorious battles where they had fallen in honor. He felt shamed and knew he was growing old and a time of peace was coming to the Horde. He felt his chance for glory was lost. He was wrong.

The red dragon, Krasus, had been with Broxigar on this journey and while walking along the shores of the Well after the battle he chanced upon the enchanted wooden axe which Cenarius had created for the orc. It was washed up on the banks of the tumultuous black water, above which the legion portal had been created. When Nozdormu returned Krasus to the present day, Krasus' first act was to take Brox's magical axe to Thrall. Disguised as an orc shaman, Krasus told the tale of how Brox helped stop another demon invasion, and implored the Warchief to sing songs of Broxigar the Red, his legendary life, and his glorious sacrifice.

Now, his brother, Varok Saurfang, leader of the Kor'kron, the most elite of the Hordes Warriors, holds his name in honor.

In WOTLK u cn see the HP of everthing if u have ur interface set right which means that u cn find out his HP by going right up 2 him and targeting him also the lich king will prolly have 13 million hp so if he only hits fr about 2k dmg per hit he'll take a long time 2 kill the lich king

Tried to solo him as a Prot Pally today. I've got 25k armor, so that's 62% damage reduction. In addition, I had (Improved) RF, Blessing of Sanctuary and glyphed Divine Plea up. Additionally, I have Shield of the Templar talented.

Channels a Whirlwind that ticks for about 3k. He can move while channeling.
Hits for about 2k-2.5k.
Has an AoE fear, Terrifying Roar.
And the kicker, a Mortal Strike that hits for 10-12k.

Strangely, he never Cleaved me. Possibly because I was alone, and he wanted to conserve rage.

Garrosh, on the other hand was a pushover. 800k health, hit for about 1.6k. No special abilities.

Especially when you talk about thing you don't even know, that guy won his popularity due to his IMBA cleave before TBC, and he was "hard to take down", trust me. in a quest in dragonblight, when u hand it in u get a cutscene showing saurfang and bolvar going to fight arthas(lich king) and the scourge. bolvar and saurfang die becuz for sum reason, the freaking forsaken killed em all except arthas who escapes. soon the dragon flight or watever their called come and pwn the forsaken. :P

Now then i did a little search on youtube and saurfang was killed IN PTR due a bug that stacked Stats after reequiping it over and over, and in fact the bug still lingers, so any deaths he may had where actually on PTR, this bug allowed players to do up to 4 million damage crit

In WoW general forums Bornakk ( one of WoW Admins) has already stated around this december past 2008 that "currently they didnt had any oficial death record of Saurfang" and neither any screenshot on the oficial servers has ever been posted but rather a PTR one

the group closests to killing him was actually one in draka under the name way of the shadow, wich recorded a whopping 67% damage before the 60 man raid collapsed (thats two raid groups at the same time) (someone posted about this under the name kingkrieg in this comment tags)

Saurfang has not always used axes. At one point in time he wielded a mace. Eventually he decided axes were cooler. He gave his old mace to Blizzard. It is now known as "The Nerf-Bat."

Blizzard continues to release expansions so that the level cap may increase, because Saurfang tells them he wants his apparent level to reflect his actual power.

Deathwing is Saurfang's flying mount. Of course, he is only used for show, because Saurfang can fly by using Cleave, and it is 1337 times faster than Deathwing.

Saurfang doesn't have to use rage to cleave - it's his auto-attack.

Though he is not a Tauren, Saurfang can in fact War Stomp. He has done it once before, and the night elves had to cover it up with some story about a magic well exploding.

the tactics for saurfang have been revealed by saurfang himself

your group must contain at least 10 tanks,20 dps and 10 healers in group

1 of the dps must be a yellow gnome mage with a purple face

in phase 1 the mage must dance on a bright blue stone and be surrounded by healers
during this phase you will only be able to get saurfang to 99.9999% of his amusement bar by dpsing, then you enter phase 2

in phase 2 the yellow gnome mage will die due to saurfangs pure awesomeness, then he must be cleaved away to a nearby river by saurfang
2 tauren rogues must sprint to that river in under 20 seconds and mutilate the gnome thus entering phase 3

Saurfang now kills 1 of your 10 tanks
that tank must be picked up by a troll or night elf paladin and thrown in to the mouth of yogg'saron while hes having his dinner, by that time your dps must get saurfang to 99.9998% of his amusement bar then phase 4 starts

Saurfang bubles and starts casting which will deal 20k dmg to all your tanks and ress the yellow gnome mage with the purple face then phase 5 starts

Saurfang now always attacks the gnome.
the gnome must kite saurfang in a perfect octagon route or else the raid will wipe
when he kites him for 1 hour 2 mins and 45 secs phase 6 begins

Saurfang now cleaves the gnome mage and kills him/her

the dps now must get saurfang to 0.0001% of his amusement in 20 seconds.
when they do so saurfang will whirlcleave every1 killing them instantly, but ressing the gnome mage. the mage now has to dance around saurfang while dual wielding a kalu'ak fishing pole and a green mailbox, after 10 seconds of doing that phase 7 begins

in phase 7 the gnome must spam trade channel with anal jokes while kiting saurfang in a octagon again, during that time the dead players must make a corpse run to the caverns of time where they will be portalled into the future 1 hour
then they will see the gnome still kiting saurfang and they will eat popcorn for exactly 31 minutes, after that the gnome will die and all the accounts will be banned due to saurfangs [Cleave:Rank Saurfang}

We were raiding Org, good old PvP style raid. I'm outside just picking off a few slackers, while most of the raid has gone inside.

The next thing I know, I've been crit for SOMETHING (it actually broke my combat log, no joke), and have died.

He was killed before but people don't bother to post because they would be met with oh he can't die and his facts etc. Killed on Ptr 3.20 when the bugs was fixed he ms for 15k on non stam stacking tanks, his cleave hit's for 3k, his auto attack is 2k, he whirlwinds for 3k, his rage is avoidable and can be completely mitigated, all his attacks can be dodged and he has 2.7 million which isn't much.

When playing D&D, High Overlord Saurfang always meets the requirements for Great Cleave. There are no exceptions.

Spreading 12 million people over several servers was the only way for Blizzard to prevent a instant kill to all players on the server when Saurfang use his Cleave.

Initialy this game was called Universe of Warcraft, untill Saurfang declared war to the rest of the universe.

There is no such thing as lag, the servers are just too busy calculating Saurfang's Awsomeness.

If Blizzard would ever implement DPS into the core of the game, they would exclude Saurfang. Trying to monitor his damage would already crash the servers.

The only reason why the Lich King is still alive, Saurfang lets him grow stronger as he still would be 1-shotted by his Cleave.

Saurfang hysteria and jokes aside, I kept Saurfang busy on my Prot Warrior once (with a healer, obviously) while the rest of our raid planted Garrosh's face into the dirt outside.

We nicknamed him "Hell's Cream Puff" afterward... but damn Saurfang still hurts ;-; We decided to leave after Garrosh went down to avoid &*!@ing Saurfang off any more. Besides, the group liked Saurfang, and only wanted to help elevate him to a position of higher power. That, and well... we just wanted to kill Garrosh's stupid ass.

I lasted longer than I expected, but was still amazed I lived as long as I did. Go figure, his Mortal Strike hurts like hell. His autoattack is surprisingly wimpy, though.

I have read on "The Daily Cleave" that in 3.3 they are gonna make these changes to Saurfang!

Bladestorm is now renamed Cleavestorm and deals 1/0 damage per hit. Lasts 13.37 seconds, one cleave per 0.01337 seconds.

Saurfang now automatically buffs himself with "The Power of The Cleave" which increases all damage done by Cleave by NaN%

Saurfang has had his HP increases to '$cleave_damage' which is soo high that we cannot tell you... we... we... just can't... or Saurfang.. might... just cleave the GMs... OH GAWD NOT THE GMs.

Was only alive long enough to test his Whirldwind and normal Melee hit on my Pet (hunter) with 22k armor. Managed to Parry one of his Whirldwind ticks, but I think I'm gonna need a healer next time...

Its funny that even tho hellscreams a lvl ? he has lower health than Saurfang. I bet when hellscream takes over in Catacylysm hel get cleaved and under Saurfang rule the alliance will be exterminated and his son will wake up from his slumber of boredom. What was really funny was that yesterday i had a 60 man raid and we went to kill him and we died in 30 sec. He one hitted our healers so that sucked and he kept using Saurfangs Rag e cuz our rogues kept criting him. A testimony of his awesomeness.

The death knight in the screenshot previous (the one with saurfang at halflife) is obviously Darion Mograine, and the only reason saurfang is at half life, is because he was still in the process of finishing off the Alliance faction leaders... all of them... simultaneously... from all times (Rifts created my cleaving time) This was part of a training exercise... where he fights with one hand, one leg, because he cleaved his own off purposefully (thus accounting for 25% of his missing life), and a refusal to breathe until everyone was dead... so yea, he was at 50% life. good for you Darion...

I hear the puny allies mocking our great High Overlord, laughing at how badly he got nerfed. However, I have a little surprize for them: this is not the real Saurfang!

The real High Overlord is always one expansion ahead of us! To avoid awakening suspicions, he leaves behind an illusion, or "Echo of Saurfang" (which you interact with ingame thinking it's the real one) whereas he heads off into the next, yet undeveloped expansion. His greatest pleasure is cleaving the bosses to exactly 1% of their health, so that a group of 25 puny mortals would be able to finish them off - otherwise, how would you think 25 players can kill the Lich King or an Old God?

That means by now, Saurfang is already in Cataclysm, probably cleaving Deathwing so that we would be able to defeat him when we're finally done with the Lich King, who has been cleaved back when we were still fumbling with Kil'jaeden, who has been cleaved... you get the point.

As for Vanilla WoW bosses, they've been cleaved back when the World of Warcraft was still in Warcraft 3 phase.

Every single Tuesday WoW is shut down for 7 hours or whatever. Blizzard only wants you to think that they are performing "routine maintenance" on the game...but we all know what really happens.

Saurfang's Cleave, and Broxigar's cleave at the same time one the same mob = total anihilation...

The cleaves from both sides would destroy the very existence of that mob and send a shockwave of cleaves at infinte range in all directions, making blizz forced to reshape the world.

It would make the one ring to break, stratholme to be purged ( in the past ) and making every gnome into , it would kill every night elf ( in the past ) making them not to do any mistakes, and thus interrupting them from blowing up the world twice and releasing illidan.
Sargearas would pick another world to invade. Hogger would be reborn ( invulnerable? ) and have 665 hp in the next life. Arthas would have /suicided because he wanted an afterlife.

To be truthful everyone should know he's just a icon not invincible.
Just to point a few things out i seen many test on his rage it does not spam, he takes like 4-8 seconds with an emote then does the rage it has a cool down like a few secs, the damage is mitigated by damage reduction and absorption effects.
Hits 3.5k on a ret pally, the math for a tank isn't hard to figure out.

Mortal strike hit at least 8-11k on tanks can be avoided... A lot.

His cleave only for 1-2k more then his melee attack.

Whirlwind for 15 seconds does damage every 3 seconds not much either.

Has 2.3m that's less than city leaders, that can be dpsed down pretty fast.

aside from the abilities he's a pretty cool guy that gained fame in the might of kalimdor. I'm just posting this to point his true mechanics aside from jokes.

I managed to kite Saurfang in the Alliance base, Garrosh decided to come too. They both successfully cleaved the whole town ^^ Nothing managed to stop them, and in the end the healer dc-ed and he cleaved me... If i was able to kite him in Dalaran... massive cleave inc!

Kite setup: DK tank/holy pala

1st attempt: we kited him at the door of the alliance door, then he suddenly disappeared.
2th attempt: we managed to kite him out of the fortress and he disappeared again..
- then i yelled "Cmon Blizz leave us alone..."
3rd attempt: then we successfully managed to kite him inside the Alliance base, there he showed his cleave abilities. Nothing was speared - players 70-80lvl, all kind of NPCs, all of them was dead in seconds. But then the healer received a strange DC > due this i couldn't survive his damage + Garrosh's damage and i died. After that the healer managed to log in, but meanwhile Saurfang cleaved everything and victorious returned to his fortress.

He can be separated from Garrosh, I'm not sure how I did it, but I had a great time bringing Saurfang to Valiance Keep and watching him destroy everything in sight with his Whirlwind, including all of the sad and sorry level 68 clothies AFK in the INN lol...

Here, I made an MMO Topic about it, Pics and story.

His Whirldwind hits for 8k initially (to npc's, and to lowbie players)
His Fear is brutal, doesn't cancel from damage, no cooldown
His Charge is weird, can't tell if it does damage or stuns but requires distance
His Mortal Strike will delete half your health bar, but has a cooldown
His Cleaves hit very hard, but requires you to be in Melee range, which didn't happen when I kited

He does not have an Auto-Attack

After detroying everyone in Valiance Keep including about a dozen players, I now know him as the Chuck Norris of WoW.

In order to train hellscream, Saurfang teleported to Azaroth, then fired a cleave that would stop 1 inch short of Hellscream. Hellscream's DNA has yet to forget the lesson, allowing his son to also perform the legendary battlecry, if not as well

This was done as a prot pally on the PTR 4.0.6. Before Cataclysm, Garrosh could be pulled without pulling Saurfang, but it seems like now they both pull. I had to pull them far away from Warsong Hold because level 85 guards keep spawning. Once away from there, it was quite easy. A few notes about him.

-Whirlwinds hit about 2k
-Cleave hits about 3k
-Mortal Strike hits about 9-12k
-Saurfangs Rage hits about 11-12k
-Has a charge and fear
-He has no auto attack

Clearly he needs to be buffed. I'm not sure why he doesn't have an auto attack, you can see in the video that he often stands there and does nothing.

To contribute to the Saurfang jokes, at the end of the video he clearly got bored and went to sleep.

Kited him to Valiance Keep as a DK, PTR 4.10.0. Doing this as a pally like my last video is a lot harder since the nerf to word of glory.

I was playing both the Dk and shaman so I had to pause on the DK whenever I moved the shaman. It took awhile to get him inside the actual keep because level 85 guards would spawn and they should be kept to a minimum. Once inside he pwns all the non level 85 NPC's. I take him back outside for a few heals and to reset some of the level 85 guards.

Though I enjoy coming here and reading the Saurfang jokes on all of his pages where they exist (alot of them) or even googling his name to find forum posts about him or youtube videos and their comments.
However.
I don't like it when comments on actual facts about Saurfang are downrated and purged because they represent his in-game stats rather than the fictionally over-the-top chuck-norris status he has outside of gameplay.

For example, when I read about actual combat records of people fighting Saurfang, and surviving for a reasonable amount of time, or even injuring him, I usually uprate those comments. Why? Because they're accurate. Actual in-game things that happened, rather than imaginary circumstances of him tearing planets to pieces.

Like I said, I do like the Saurfang memes, but when people post actual statistics, don't downrate them.

Suffice to say: When everyone else had to go through stat squish, he didn't. In fact, his stats are buffed once every 5 seconds. This just in: He's now buffed evey 3 seconds. That is all.
