Found one of these guys during a Twisting Corridors run. He's attackable but doesnt attack back. When I taunted him, he slowly walked toward the exit leaving a trail of phantasma orbs to pick up and eventually an Anima Orb once he reached the exit.

As a warrior I just taunted him and followed him while he dropped Phantasma Orbs.
Repeated that three times and got an anima orb.

Throwing a Ravenous Anima Cell at this creature spawns a portal to a room filled with vessels and anima powers.

Can confirm, these guys can open a portal to a room with anima power vases.

Once you hit or taunt him, he runs a bit and drops these little white orbs that give you phantasma when you collect them. After a few seconds he will stop. Hit/taunt him again and continue to do this until he drops an anima power and starts to run faster. At this point, he heads for the end of the current floor you are on and will start casting an escape spell. I used my Ravenous Anima Cell on him right as he was casting this spell, that spawned the portal for me.

Few things I have noticed:

He can spawn in Twisting Corridors and the other areas.
Target macros don't seem to target him even though he can be targeted by clicking on him.

My particular portal room had several vases, but only four of them contained anima powers.

Found one in a Twisting Corridors run (layer 5). He was not attackable for me and wouldn't start moving until I attacked something near him. He'd then stop after dropping about five phantasma spheres or so - attack another mob and he started moving again. If you have an ambusher spawn on you, those will count toward making him move.

You have to first clear the floor including the floor portal boss.
Then aggro him. He dies really easily even without anima powers. Just tag him, in my case as a tank taunting him works.
He will run a bit dropping Phantasma on the ground. he will stop a few time in which case you auto attack or taunt him again and he runs some more.
After his bag is empty he will drop a power and sprint like crazy to the end portal.
Have your Ravenous Anima Cell ready to use (I'd advise on your bar) and use it on him once he starts to cast his teleport when he reaches the end portal.
This will spawn a portal labeled "Portal to?"
The three times I have done this I get an average of 3 blue anima powers and 1 green anima power in the secret anima room. Also canopic jars with an average of 90 phantasma.

Note if you use the Ravenous Anima Cell on him prior to him starting his cast to teleport he will only drop Pouch of Phantasma and the buff seems to correlate to how much anima was in his bag when you did it. IE do it after his bag is empty but he hasn't tried to portal out and you turn him into 75 Phantasma, use it on him right away and it is RNG, once I got 150 Phantasma and once I got 75 Phantasma.

dont choose the dog power if you want to get the most out of this guy. the dogs will kill him far before you get to the end of the floor

Contrary to what others said, I could not attack him even though he was neutral. Using a ravenous orb on him only gained me 75 phantasma. :\

Anyone with a fear/Blind will cause him to be feared/blind and drop his entire cache of phantasma and the Orb After he drops his Orb you can use the Ravenous Anima Cell to get the portal

You can use these on the vendors that appear every third floor. Every time I've done this I've received 400 phantasmatic -- not bad for a 250 phantasmata investment. Problem is, though, the vendor is dead on any subsequent floors it appears on, so you can't buy anything from it then.

This all seems kind of dopey, are you supposed to buy one of these expensive Ravenous Anima Cell just in case you see this guy? And will he only show up after you've seen a vendor?

So once again I saw him when I didn't have a Ravenous Anima Cell (seriously, when do you have these? I'm lucky to have enough phantasma to buy what I want). So I cleared the entire floor and then rather than just killing him right off and getting my Anima Power, I just kicked him (I was a rogue) and followed him. Picked up the Phantasma he dropped (each ball had 1 to 3 of them) and then he stopped, I kicked him again, he dropped a few more phantasma balls and then an Anima Power. I followed him to the exit portal and he didn't drop anything else so I killed him before he reached it and he still didn't drop anything else. So should have just let him go through the portal I guess.

Edit: I think this is meant for Twisting Corridor. Yeah he will show up in normal Torghast, but chances are good he'll show up before you even see the vendor to get a Ravenous Anima Cell and chances are also good that the vendor won't even have one. Whereas in Twisting Corridor the vendors almost always seem to have a Ravenous Anima Cell for sale and you usually have enough phantasma (and anima powers) to feel comfortable wasting it on one.

Got him on floor 1 before I could have gotten a Ravenous, so my only choice was Blind then kill the little guy. What a way to go. I felt bad but I need those Powers! They're like crack.

If you'd already used a previous Ravenous Anima Cell to get a Skeletal Ward following you around, the Skeletal Ward will kill the Lost Dredger before he can get to the end and there is nothing you can do about it. :(

This guy will spawn in either Twisting Corridors or a "normal" run.

I suggest clearing the rest of the floor once you find him. He's got fairly low health, so it's best to use any non-attack you can (taunt, interrupt, dispell, etc). He will start and stop a few times before leaving an anima cell behind. After that he runs to the end portal and tries to escape.

Use a Ravenous Anima Cell on him when he's casting escape to get a portal to the poral room. You can either then go into the room, or go back and pick up the anima cell he dropped. Be careful not to go to the next floor instead.

:( I found a lost dredger in my TC run layer 5... instant death because 11k hp on floor 11... Between Subjugator's Manacles hitting him for 8.6k, the base attack for 200, Corruption Antenna for 81.8k and a finger of frost went flying for another 8.2k... There was just no way for him to survive to make it to the exit from even a single tick of Crackling Jade Lightning.

Just had this one spawn on a Mort'reghar floor 14 of TC, cleared the whole room first, and as soon as I was going to taunt it (was in warrior arms, 187 ilvl, stomping everything up to this level) I get DCED :/
Had already 1 DC on floor 12, yeah with the boss, then in 13th the thing cracked out, 4 DCs in the whole floor. I double checked and the internet was fine, checked their Twitter, no DDoS happening (maybe it WAS happening just that time?)... My 'luck' is that you don't get 'booted' from Torghast that fast as with, let's say, dungeons but this last one, when I was logging back, just noticed I was 'kiked out' to the entrance portal to TC. Closed my Game and went to sleep.

The whole day and this happens just when you decide to 'play' long stuff, and TC is 'boringly long', not difficult, at most. And people get mad because they put in 9.0.5 a 3rd Maw mount, hell, just to get to the 8th layer of TC is a nightmare, specially if you're gonna get bad luck stuff like occasional DCs, and specially if you've already climbed most floors, and are feeling confident with all the anima powers you've got.

Next try, 'the game will DECIDE' to give me bad anima powers now, just so I have to try a 3rd time, a thing that should have happened on the first, were not for the stupid DCs.

In Torghast, you can meet a lost digger on any floor. He will not be aggressive, so here are a couple of tips on how to use the meeting with this opponent more effectively:

1. Clear a little territory from aggressive mobs towards the exit from the floor.
2. Choose an ability that does no damage, or does little damage and send it to the digger. For example, shamans have a interrupt, which does no damage, but begins to move forward with a digger.
3. The mob leaves behind it mini-spheres with phantasma, collect them freely.
4. After 3-4 such "pokes" by the digger leaves the sphere of anima with abilities and begins to quickly run forward.
5. At the moment when the digger threw his "treasure", he starts to run away much faster, at this moment it is necessary to throw a Ravenous Anima Cell at him .
6. The digger will disappear, leaving behind a portal leading to the treasury.
7. The portal does not disappear for at least 5-7 minutes.

Inside the treasure you will find a lot of phantasma, about 5 anima spheres with abilities and a little respite :)

The Ravenous Anima Cell is definitely required. I killed him normally while he was casting Escape and had no treasure portal. Sad side note: the last 3 Twisting Corridors runs in a row I have seen this guy on floor 1 or 2...so no chance to convert him to the treasure room.

If he is unattackable for you, put your auto-attack spell in your spell bar (found under your Spellbook & Abilities tab, under "General"). Then target the lost dredger and click your auto-attack spell on your spell bar, and you will be able to hit him. Careful not to hit him too much so you won't defeat him.

For me he showed up at the fifth floor of the Upper Reaches.

Edit: today he also showed up for me at the fifth floor of the Soulforges.

As a priest, you can mind-control him. When you make him walk around then, he will drop his balls and the anima power.

Warning: If the Beasts of Prodigum event is up and you have a Beast with you, he will attack and kill the Dredger way before he gets near the exit. I learnt this the hard way..

I seem to need to aggro him a few times to get him to start running properly for the exit so that I could grab the anima power drop from him and then transform him with the ravenous anima cell (from the brokers) as he casts escape to access the treasure room.

Using actual attacks is a risky proposition with his low hp and potential for crits on top of any anima powers you have that deal damage. Use something that deals no damage to aggro him - taunts like Hand of Reckoning, Dark Command, counterspells/interrupts definitely work, but casting an aggressive CC on him should work in a pinch (not polymorph, but something like fear, mind control should work?) If all else fails, full clear the floor and all of your gear to drive your main stat (and therefore the anima abilities that get their damage from that) as low as it can go - then auto attack him by dragging the auto attack spell to your hotbar and using it. With luck, you won't be able to kill him with just a crit auto alone and also won't proc anything too painful on him and he will start to run - leaving behind orbs from his bag as he runs, then the anima power and then sprinting for the exit.

This was actually surprisingly easy as a Holy priest on floor 16 of Twisted Corridors level 8. I could not attack him in melee and at this point I would have killed him just by sneezing in his general direction, so I decided to mind control him. He started dropping the Phantasma orbs so I walked him around until he dropped his Anima orb, as well. I picked everything up and made sure I was ahead of him on his path to the exit portal then, once the Mind Control expired and he started running for the exit, I simply used the anima orb on him and the treasure portal appeared.

TLDR: If you're a priest or in a party with one, use MC on him to collect all his orbs then blow him up for treasure.

Was able to control this guy as a dh with Tormentor's Spiked Noose. Just ordered him to run around until I got all the phantasma.

Not sure if anything has changed, but I came here to look up what to do with this guy. When I first saw him he was not attackable. So after reading up here, I made sure everything was killed and then went back to him and he was still unattackable. So I'm not sure if I did something wrong or what.
