This boss is similar to Synod as it has a stacking buff that increases its damage and becomes immune to CC at 10 stacks. The boss spawns two orbs periodically throughout the fight so try to pick the "Curious Miasma" anima power (heal for ~5k whenever you attack a new creature) and use an AOE ability to hit both orbs and heal for 10k instantly. I was able to kill this as a resto druid by simply using swipe on the two orbs and healing to full while DPSing the boss down.

Just tried to trio it with a Disc healer, Rogue and BM Hunter. Rogue and Hunter were contributing 2.5k dps and we couldn't kill it. The combination of the boss scaling to 1.2M HP (10x the HP compared to solo) and the buff he puts on himself (which is not dispelable or cancelable; we tried stunning when he jumped) leads me to believe that it's way overtuned at the moment. Probably best to solo it.

On layer 2 as a Shadow Priest, I tried three times solo. Got him to 25% was about the best I could manage. Even with a ton of Torghast buffs it simply wasn't happening. (gear score currently 149)

Killed this as a RShaman with a Ret Pally, DH, Boomkin, and SPriest. Stunned all of the Mass Devours until he reached stack 10 when he became immune to stuns. Focused purely on DPS except outside of the Mass Devours (where we used personal CDs to stay alive).

Just solokilled him as 173 Assassin Rogue, but it was really a challenge. Rogue in general struggles a bit due to the very lackluster sustain (10% leech is less than you think - it healed 23k in a 1 min fight here) and no built-in defenses, wearing leather, so execution is crucial. I also used:
Drums
Potion of Phantom Fire
Veiled Augment Rune
Steak a la Mode
This might look like overkill, but I'm pretty sure I would never have gotten a kill without them.

CC his Mass Devour and use your entire arsenal - Kidney Shot first (shortest cd), then blind the next (he will break out immediately but who cares) and vanish-cheapshot the next (you need to be quick here so he doesn't reset). At this point your cheap shot should be up again, and if the fight goes on for much longer you'll die regardless.

I had a somewhat easy time as assassin rogue on layer 3. I had good defensive animas, I don't remember their names but these are the effects:

1. Reduce 30% magic damage taken but increase 15% physical damage taken
2. Increase 100% HP but makes you slow if you stay idle for too long
3. Like 2 or 3 stacks of crimson vial reduction cooldown
4. (Kyrian) Increase Phial of Serinity healing.

Aside from these, I got the animas that make echoing reprimand's anima charged combo point do damage as if you had 20 combo points and reset cooldown when using anima charge, it is very easy to hit the anima charge combo point as assassin rogue so I was spamming echoing reprimand back to back while keeping my dots up.

Stun and Blind Mass Devour and you should get yourself a kill.

Did it with my partner (2 hunters) one BM ( 155 ilvl) and myself 180 ilvl. I did 5.9k of dps and she did 3.8k.

We couldn't kill it, it seems like maaaaaayyyyybeeee it's too much. Sadly if you cannot predict which boss you're gonna encounter it's hard to prepare an strategy, actually we couldn't endure the whole fight and we died eventually but still... I think this boss is kinda poorly balanced if a 180 ilvl hunter doing almost 6k of dps cannot nuke him ... then you'll need powerful upgrades to do it or the proper ones, like you heal yourself by "xxxx" hitting a new enemy and kill the orbs for example.

Just soloed kill him at 165 warrior fury. With impending victory, kill one orb then impending victory, do same to another orb if any. Combined all my CD's, and door of shadow anima power, give 20% dodge. Stopped most of his channeling with fear and stun. Failed once then success on 2nd time with my last life.

Has 2 big abilities
Shatter essence - aoe damage, creates 2 essence orbs per player. I think this contributes targets to the next Drain Essence. Very easy to cleave down
Drain essence - channeled, aoe damage, each tick adds a damage absorb per target hit.
also has stacking damage, haste, and at 10 is immune to stuns and cc

Both can be interrupted, prioritize Drain Essence. Have big damage and cooldowns ready, he is a big slab of health with 3 people

had the ability that cuts an elites health in half on the first hit, then hit a smoke bomb, took about 10 seconds to kill him.

Killed him in layer 3, with ret pally and my gf as BM hunter, around 154 ilvl each.
The key is to save the hard cc's to interrupt the Mass Devours casts.
Our kill was clutch tho, i died, and Kill Shot with the anima power that has chance to kill the enemy finished the job.
Really hard compared to the rest of the final bosses so far. (week 2)

this boss is defiantly overturned currently. at floor 6 he is not killable. he has 357k hp.
as a 180 sub rogue doing 3-4.2k dps the best i can do on him is get to 50% before he will kill me.

Managed to kill this as a ilvl 159 Blood Death Knight after a very very loooong fight and two deaths. The boss got to around 15 stacks I think. Enough to be immune to any cc and a few more after that, I guess.

Tips for any bdks out there:

Take the anima power to heal you when you attack a new enemy.
If you're using Hemostasis, use Blood Boil when it summons the two orbs so your next Death Strike heals you for more.
Use Rune Tap when he jumps up and slams back down on the ground; it's very damaging. You might be able to dodge this by using Death's Advance and running away, as I seemed to not take damage when I tried it once. The timing is going to be tricky.
Use your ghoul. Cast Raise Dead and explode it for some damage and 25% total health healing on you (yes, that's a lot of health).

A very challenging fight but very satisfying when you beat it. Good luck!

Tried this as a 170 Marks Hunter. DPS Pet with lust. After figuring out a few adjustments to talents and how to interrupt the drain I thought I had this in the bag. I would frost trap one drain then bursting shot the next etc etc. This was working till about 10-25% hp at which point despite having stopped all previous cast my trap would either not affect him or he would get iced but still cast the drain or my bursting shot would go right thru his face.

Just finished this last night as a 151 Guardian druid.
I didn't see anything I could interrupt, it was a slow fight, no real worries until the very end, he gets a very nasty stacking buff that gives him % damage dealt and reduces damage taken, I didn't see this until it was 11 stacks, got him to 10% and I almost died but managed to pull it out.
I recommend pulling out some DPS at the end. What worked for me as night fae, was popping into Cat form and popping convoke the spirits, this shredded him very fast.

First time I kill this mob with my 183 Marksmanship Hunter.

To kill him, I have:

Activate a pet to tank Goxul (use spell to heal and revive him).
Of course, activate bloodlust after killing the first 2 bubbles.
Kill him in less than 1 minute or it will drain your HP fastly.
Use traps and other spell to control him ofc.

This fight is nearly impossible for anyone that doesn't have a constant cycle of low CD CC's. The fight is overtuned and really needs to be fixed.

Backup Poison Injectors with Boiling Poison Sores when the boss summons the 2 extra adds caused the boss to take 180,000 damage (of their 301k health pool) instantly. As a rogue, this is the closest I will ever get to Power.

This is very overtuned and you can only defeat it if you are a specific list of classes that can CC it long enough to reset the stacks. I tried as a frost mage. I actually lucked out and got 2 Curios Miasma and Fire Juggler (which is my ONLY way to interrupt him) but the fight just quickly becomes unsustainable when he reaches 10 stacks. No more snares, no more ways to interrupt his heal.

It's really stupid that things like this aren't fixed in testing. I always see people complaining that they kept reporting something in beta and it somehow still made it to the live game. Its because Blizzard deems certain things to be a lower priority and they still have to ship their game on time and you end up here.

Week 2 - Layer 3. Resto druid ilvl 172 (night fae)

Killed him on my 2nd try. First time I was kiting too much so he gained too stacks to handle. Second time I just focused on dps. in the first minute it's not too dangerous so just dpsed him as much as I could. Always killed the bubbles.

Found him relatively easy as a 175 BM hunter on layer 3. Did just over 4k dps during the fight. Always prioritise anima powers that will be useful for single target boss fights I guess - was relatively painless with my pet tanking.

Almost had him with a ilvl 148 feral druid. It's frustrating, because over the course of 4 floors with mobs you're led to believe you can do layer 3 and then after about an hour you come at the boss and you have to give up the entire run. I don't mind difficulty, but as it stands the layer 3 boss is too overtuned in relation to the rest of the layer. In my previous run I had Maw of the Maw and that was even more difficult...

As a Death Knight, you can interrupt the devour without fail with Death Grip. Goxul does a rotation and sticks to it so Death Grip will always be ready for it. Orbs can be taken down with Bone Storm and alternating with Swarming Mist if you're Venthyr. Did it at ~163 ilvl.

Just tried Layer 6 in a full group, he's basically unkillable, just incredibly overtuned. We read what we could to prepare, killed the orbs, used our interrupts, CC'd, Time Warp etc, maybe got him to 80%. What a waste of time.

Tried this as 190 ret paladin with a 185 disc. Layer 7. 1.3 mil HP i think.

I was doing 7k+ dps the entire fight, we tried a CC rotation on the devour, nailed it pretty well. Even had the group wide divine shield. Got him to 20%, but the dam at that point just one shots.

I imagine it's doable solo, and probably in a group if you have a lot of consumables, luit and CC the devours well + are pumpers.

Pretty challenging though, I think this will be nerfed.

Just got this boss at Layer 8 as a 194 ilvl Shadow Priest. Admittedly my Anima Powers were pretty bad, most of Shadow Priests are pretty lackluster, but this boss had 768K HP and gained a 12K shield on the first absorb, then a 26k absorb, then a ~60k absorb... The orbs have 4.6k health and are not killable in a fast enough manner due to Shadow Priest ramp-up and needing dots to get a decent Mind Blast from Mastery.

Ended up using all lives on this boss and even saw the Teragrue thing for the first time on the last one. I even tried just using the orbs to heal as I had 2 of the Curious Miasma as suggested here in the comments, but after 6-8 stacks on the boss he hits for almost 80% of my health pool. Died while doing 5k to 5.9k DPS on all attempts after between 1m 26s to 1m 40s fights.

Probably skipping this layer until I am better geared, even though I was able to clear the other layer at 8.

As enhancement shaman go for earth elemental cd reduction, double capacitor totem, and rotate that with sundering to interrupt as many devours as you can. Also try healing your elemental a few times to minimize downtime.

Solo'd on Layer 5 as a 177 Blood DK. As long as you Deathgrip on those Devours you should be ok. Had very lackluster Anima Powers, with the right ones he should go down even easier

I've met him today on layer 8 in Upper Reaches solo.
Played Prot Pala with 189 ilvl, and no prot/neutral legendary (I'm holy main) and no epic anima powers during whole run.

That guy hits like a truck (elite bonus to damage was stacking and I was taking 8-10k hits at the end of the fight), but orbs are relatively easy to grind in cleave, I didn't have to swap targets to kill them before absorb.
MVP of my run were common/uncommon anima powers that does damage (Corruption Antenna and Watchful Lightfly), they did around 40% dmg done to boss, and I had to just keep throwing shield and rotate CD's at the end of battle.

As Demo Warlock, iLv 165, solo on layer 6, I gave up after three attempts. Best I could do was bringing him down from 396k to ~200k.

The good thing is that Mortal Coil still works when he is immune to Fear, but this didn’t help either ;)

Won on Level 3 as a 168 Rogue, definitely recommend the pot that increases your damage, and be sure to have all your non-Kick interrupts available to stop his Mass Devour. I used Fan of Knives, not to take down the orbs but just to bump up my combo points asap. Felt like it was very doable, but not sure how I'd feel if I didn't have the damage potion.

Just soloed layer 8 as 193 sub rogue. I had 300% damage shadowstrikes and 450% damage eviscerates with mark of the shadow assassin giving me 8 seconds of 100% crit.

After the nerf I was able to take him down on layer 5 as ilvl 171 fury warrior. Had 4 tries and had to pull out all the tricks from the book. But one thing did exceptionally well is that I had the anima power that knocks him down whenever I use Condemn/Execute, this was in my opinion why I could take him down. On the other hand if I would have the anima power where I can use Condemn/Execute anytime then the fight would be ez.

I would recommend for those with the "correct" talents, in this layer for this boss use your talent points for stun, knock-over stuff. This was really the win for me.

165 ilvl shadow priest - after 3 failed attempts I finally managed to bring it down.

As soon as the orbs spawn you HAVE to switch targets immediately to take them out otherwise you are toast.

For Anima Powers, the two key ones I had that really seemed to make a difference:
Orb of Replenishment which spawned 3 orbs that also helped at the beginning, and
Volatile phantasm which distracted him long enough to get some space and heals near the end.

Woeful boss.. just awful as a squishy / high cd cc class such as my destro lock.

WARNING - If you see this boss's picture on layer 8, floor 3 of 'Upper Reaches' (plus 30% meelee damage) - just leave and save yourself some heartache. Especially if you don't have low cd interupts / cc.

I cleared the layer 8 Upper Reaches with minimal fuss (am not here to brag ilvls like everyone.. but am geared to run norm raid anyway) and then literally used ALL my lives attempting to down the boss. Keyboard nearly went through the monitor and the unsub button was hovered over... just don't understand how something this untuned can be in game.

Blizz.. if you're listening (Ha!) - Maybe there needs to be a mechanic that debuffs the final boss after 2 or 3 attempts or something like in LFR... just so demoralising to spend an hour and a half doing something to LITERALLY get nothing out of it except high blood pressure and an urge to break stuff.

After the recent nerf this boss was fairly easy on layer 8. I'm a 192 sub rogue, had decent anima powers but nothing special. Just save stuns for his consume to stop him building the shield, orb hp is only about 5k so they are easy to switch to and kill.

Easiest boss in Torghast with Blinding Powder. Put it on the ground and kill him. Never even interrupted him. I read through all the comments and then reviewed his abilities. Level 6 Torghast after the nerf as a 195 enh Shaman. Fight took 54 seconds before he died. I just used only 2 Blinding Smoke Capsules and killed the orbs asap. Since he could not target my Earth Elemental, he never got any buffs. Also did this on my Prot pally, but it took 4 powders.

Appears to be retuned, bad gear with good anima powers on a frost mage and was able to do it easily 6th floor.
He dropped two orbs which how low health and were easy to cleave. He would occasionally cast an interruptible aoe.

Did this one in a guild group with 1 DH tank, 1 Disc healer, 2 dps (1 ret pally, 1 DH), was trivial. Killed him before he even reached 8 stacks of the debuff. Such a different fight compared to Patrician Cromwell.

I don't think anyone would have any problem killing this after the torghast nerf, but anyway, kill the orbs fast and try interrupting Mass Devour with any CC and you are fine.

Ran Torghast just now. Final boss on Layer 7. Utterly confused because my buddy only saw Goxul whereas on my screen I could see 3 other adds (Suppressors Cel, Vellon, and Hersi) holding his chains. Uploaded a screenshot. Not sure whether it's a bug or not, but don't see anyone else has mentioned it. Anyone else seeing this?

i just lost an hour of my life on layer 8 because this dude was unkillable. ilvl 200 shadowpriest with apropriate talents. no way, overtuned. if you see him on lvl 3, leave!

Prot pally. Annihilated him in 30 seconds. ilevel 181.

Consecrate and avenger's shield took down the orbs in a few seconds. Just beat on him and interrupted when possible.

Just got this guy on layer 7. 174 Destro lock and 172 Resto Druid. Had 2 infernals, 150% demon damage buff, Chaos Bolt used no shards, increased Rain of Fire radius, haste started at 31%. I was able to use RoF on orbs every time due to not needing shards for anything else. Otherwise, just nuked hard. Took about 1 minute. On a side note, we had been running layers as double dps and decided to go healer/dps. The difficulty was night and day.

I fought him solo on layer 8 with my ilvl 194 outlaw rogue. I had really bad Anima Powers and wasn't able to DPS him down quickly enough. I did have plenty of self-sustain, but unfortunately the boss hits harder and harder throughout the fight. He killed me with a normal melee attack of 22 k.

He's still very tough as of Jan. 2, 2021. As a 192 Elemental Shaman, Layer 8, I died twice doing 5K dps. Used a flask and weapon oil to get up to 6K dps, and changed strats, to take him down.
The strategy that worked was to start with Fire Elemental, using self-healing, the add orbs, and my anima power orbs to stay alive. After the elemental died, I finally summoned my Earth Elemental to tank, did Bloodlust, and poured in the damage until it finally went down.
Most of his casts were too quick to Wind Shear - I had it on 4 second CD - but I could get the channeled spell.

I got this on layer 3 tonight as an ilvl166 frost mage. I had 3 deaths left and breezed through the layer. I even forgot I got the +5% per floor spell sequence anima(on the first floor), lol. My big advantage was the intelligent mirror buff and I picked up 2 addition mirrors along the way. The first attempt I messed up. The second try I was able to pretty much nuke him and kite him.

8th floor, endboss. Impossible as guardian druid due to the Unnatural Power buff.

I had a similar endboss with the same Unnatural Power last week. First I cleared 8th floor 2 times where that boss awaited me. 10 attempts = 10 deaths. I stepped down to 7th floor. Same endboss, same result. 6th floor, same endboss, same result. 5th floor, same endboss, same result. I decided to stop and leave the dust.

Seriously, Blizzard? Is this your so-called rogue-like randomized dungeon? I call it crap.

I did this boss on Layer 5 as a 157 discipline priest, talents were 3123111.
The anima powers I used were Mask of Sheer Terror, Power Overwhelming, and Mindmancer Handgloves (Venthyr). The rest were stats and utility.

I did as much damage upfront as I could with all my cooldowns (Schism, Mindbender, Mindgames) and spamming Mind Blast (Power Overwhelming). When the orbs spawned, I used Mind Sear to kill them. When he used the devour, I alternated using Shining Force and Psychic Scream. Keeping atonement up from Power Word: Shield worked early on but after about 7 stacks of his damage buff, I had to stop and shadow mend myself.

It took me 2 attempts to kill him. I wouldn't recommend trying to kite. I hope this helps someone.

196 ret pally, layer 8. Had almost zero damage enhancements but had almost 65k hp and a lot of self healing. Never dropped below 80% hp, 3600 dps. One shot.

Twisting Corridors final boss (floor 18/layer 5). BM hunter tips:
- Boss has about 4.8m hp. You can't tank and spank him forever
- Typical burn opener with bestial wrath, aspect of the wild, wild spirits, trap damage bonus, hunters mark damage bonus, intimidation crit
- Ignore the essences that he makes and interrupt every mass devour with frost trap
- Once he kills your pet the first time and your opener is done, turn growl off and start kiting. Tar trap powers, disengage powers, movement speed powers, turtle powers are all really useful here. He'll have too many stacks for your pet to tank him at this point
- Keep kiting him around your tar traps while your pet continues to dps. Make sure to interrupt every mass devour as that is the only thing that will kill you!

Fight took me 3 tries at ilvl 215. Good luck, boss is a total pain on floor 18!

Got this guy as my Floor 18 boss in Twisting Corridors layer 1 - He's basically impossible.

I do 50k dps in burst, I have several dmg reduction and healing powers, but he has 3m hp and his melee attacks hit for 50% of my hp. When he casts Mass Devour he still hits with melee and you just die.

staring at Goxul right now. 2.6 million hp speced as bear tank lol. 18th floor of twisting corridors trying to solo Signs of the Lion to unlock twisting corridors. can't imagine the scaling for a group or a dps solo. i made it this far, but i don't expect this to go well. ;)

Got this on level 18 in Twisting, freaking WORST BOSS EVER to try and solo, failed with 4 lives when I got to him. Wasted several hours of my life getting through 17 levels just to fail at this guy. Pretty pissed

Just soloed this on my 206 arms warrior layer 4 as 18th floor boss... had to really cheese it as this guy cant otherwise be killed. Stacked maximum powers for rage generation and condemn damage+condemn knock-down and kept him perma knocked down, took a while but 82k dps later he died.

200 ilvl Ele Shaman. I was able to pull it off with the "permanent" earth elemental, ghost wolf speed enhancements and copious usage of capacitor totem and earthbind totem.

He's not easy but he is doable.

L8, F18 - an insane group with a DK, DH, Shaman, Druid and myself a Demo Warlock - all overpowered, melting every single mob and boss we come across... this guy was impossible. His shatter got too high each time and one shot us all. Best we got was 50% on the first try. What a POS - you see this guy? Your run is done. That's it.

Pretty much impossible to kill if you get him at floor 18.

I got him on Layer 7: 85 Soul remnants, 90 anima powers, over 170K HP prot paladin. Got him to 20% on all 4 attempts while killing orbs the entire fight - at that point combat log was showing his base melee swings for over 140K per hit. No stopping that.

Torghast is riddled with tuning problems, but these twisting corridors end bosses just further emphasize how broken the whole thing really is. basically RNG on whether you get a kill at the end or not.

Waste of 3 hours.

Insane to beat at layer 18.
I have 210 GS, 73 Anima Powers,cleared everything and this boss has 3000k HP. After 3-5 stacks of his passive stacking boss buff his essence break will just oneshot me and since he casts it in like 1 second and i dont have stun every 30sec I just wasted hours of time.
What a stupid failure of design.
I kill every orb he still casts his freaking mass devour and shreds me it ticks for 13k and goes through my hunter imunity.
Pet is dead in 2 ohits of course.
This boss sucks hard if you are not very lucky with your powers.

This is rediculous. Twisted corridors, the broker is fking dead, my ilvl is 189, I am BM hunter and tried ALL PETS, hit heroism too everytime, pets die like idk, 900k hp, I drop him to 30% and then I die because I can't interrupt him.
This is stupid. The whole maw and torghast thing is stupid AF. 35 anima powers and most of them damage enchancing and stacked 2 and 3 times. The broker is dead? Like how am I supposed to buy stuff.

What on earth were the devs thinking when they decided to put this guy on lvl18, are they so inept at playing this game that they thought it would be fun to run through these damn corridors for 3 fing hours only to die to this guy because of he'simpossible to do solo as a prot pali, blow all your cool downs buff yourself as much as possible and still only get him down to 40%, whata waste of my time.

207 VDH was able to thankfully make the fight trivial with a few anima powers. If you're night fae and you get the anima power that resets the hunt upon death of target, everytime you kill his essence, it will reset. Couple this with the anima power that stuns your hunt target for 3 sec. You can kill both his essences and keep him stunned for a bit of time while dealing a lot of damge with the hunt dot.

I kill him when doing Twisting Corridors Layer 7, 18 Floor.
As a ilv 200 Demonology Warlock, I rotated between Axe Toss and Shadowfury(with Darkfury talent) to stun his Mass Devour, and ignored his Shatter Essence adds.

I didn't got Pact of Infernal Intimacy that run, so my felguard was nearly killed during the encounter, yet it still possible to kill him without Pact of Infernal Intimacy.

Destro Lock: 180IL. Dead on the 12th floor.
I did manage to Banish him, but too late to recover. Theoretically, banish, refresh Voidwalker and heal up as you can. I had him down to about 15% I used Cataclysm on "blue balls" as well as Rain of Fire, dropped Infernal on them otw to Goxul. I tried to keep up tongues and corruption, as I had buffs for those. Interupt him when he points at you, Shadowfury works. A DBM for him would be nice for timing his CDs. Tough fight for a Destro Lock. No love here.

Study your phantasm buffs before you charge in, make a plan. Good Luck.

Protection Paladin here. Just downed him after four tries on two consecutive days. Two today. Here's what finally did it for me:

iLevel 187
Didn't have Concentration Aura up, turned that on
Food: Tenevrous Crown Roast Aspic
Shadowcore Oil on weapon
Spectral Flask of Power
Focused on Anima powers that would heal me passively
Maw raw killing buff maxed at 100% to increase my health pool to 125k -- used in conjunction with other means to increase stamina
Consecration Aura anima buff was to 30% and tried to stay in it as much as possible to boost mastery/block
Whenever those orbs pop up, you need to DPS the frak outta them ASAP -- tab targeting is key.
If I could take a talent that would give me another one on the same row, I normally did it
Start fight by drinking a Potion of Spectral Strength -- this got his health down in five seconds to about 88%
Use your Hammer of Justice! Use your Hammer of Justice! Use your Hammer of Justice! Then DPS the frak outta him!
When you stun him, run through and attack from behind, that half a second of him turning can make a difference!
Take anima powers to buff the Phials of Serenity. I think I had mine to 75%
Pop trinks on cooldown -- mine were Instructor's Divine Bell and Darkmoon Deck Indomitable (latter made a huge difference)
Try to pop Shield of the Righteous every six seconds or so -- the extra armor helps

It's possible, but it won't be easy! Happy adventuring folks.

In alot of ways this sums up my issues with Torg, just walked through a layer 3 version on my 199 Fire Mage all the way up to Goxul and then just got wrecked over and over again.
I don't mind struggling on content, I just don't like walking through something for no resistance for 2 hours and then getting hit with a sledge hammer out of the blue

I ran Mort'regar 15 times on layer 3 looking for this guy for Talbadar's Stratagem on my shadow priest. Have yet to see him. Can anyone confirm he actually spawns on Mort? I wanted my BiS legendary this week and not have to wait rng for the one everyone seems to see him on (Upper Reaches). Will keep farming and update if I see him.

I got lucky I had this boss on floor 18, but I was able to purchase the anima power called crumbling aegis, which grants immunity for 1.5 mins and I didn't take any damage until he was around 10% health and I able to kill him on my first attempt.

Just beat him as level 18 boss (layer 6) Solo feral druid (ilvl 200 all pvp gear).

Lots of buffs to Convoke, the 50% damage buff that comes with a movement debuff, had the 30% damage buff potion. Was able to burn him down.

Had about 70K health at the end.

On floor 18, layer 8, this boss' Shatter Essence hit for 140k, on a 1 second cast with a 60yd range. He has 9.17mill health. Slightly overtuned to say the least. And he does it on such a short timer, it's ridiculous.

I had about 137k health, was doing 54k dps and healing for 6khps. 93 anima powers. I did 6.5mill damage in 2 minutes and healed for 726k (taking time to switch to the essences and kill them, which I did every time, lowers damage a bit). After 2 minutes the shatter essence 1 shots 140k health. Had already used turtle by that time.

Blizzard is really %^&*ing stupid putting such a boss at the end of a layer 8 floor 18. very last boss 10mil health etc. .... what are they smoking? This boss is impossible to beat even with 85+ animas and very OP combinations. Even with 140k healt this stupid boss hits me for 90% of my HP... every time, 1 sec cast. how am I supposed to survive this? I can heal it as Warlock, like 3 times with Drainlife spam (it has like 1 sec cast time with legendary). but then I am out of mana and can't do #$%^ anymore. And if I do not heal it, I am dead by the 3rd cast of this stupid broken ability. And there is no way to interrupt it every time especially not on a 1 sec cast....

I mean WTF is wrong with Blizzard... the whole Torghast stuff is just not tested enough and unbalanced as ^&*!. Its EASY mode until you reach like floor 16 on layer 8. Then out of a sudden random mobs ONE SHOT you with 320k damage or whatever. So literally one shot. I do not have at any point more than 300000 health... wtf? Before floor 16 nothing happens, its a snooze fest, too easy... then floor 16 and 17 mobs have like 10 times more health and need 5 times more time to kill and can just one shot you randomly somehow... but sometimes they don't. Its not like its a rule that it happens, it just happens sometimes not every time.

But when it happens I wasted HOURS playtimes for nothing... but here is the most important part as a WARLOCK! I have to do this &*!@ with just ONE LIFE because I am already forced to start the whole layer with the anima power that boosts my pet to 500% hp and dmg. But when I die, or my pet dies, or when my pet randomly disappears (happens more often than not...) the buff is gone... so you have to do 5 floors to get to 500% again. GOOD LUCK with that when you get one shot on floor 16 or 17. This means basicly its over, you wasted HOURS of time and you need to start all over again. The 4 lifes you have mean NOTHING for you as a Warlock. Because there is no way to beat anything when your pet doesnt have this anima power at higher floors.

What kind of BAD game design is this actually? I've never seen such a bad design in my life and 16 years of WoW. Dude... even Horrific Visions were better designed than this Torghast nonsense. And Horrific Visions were BAAAAAADDDD and annoying!

I am not gonna spent more days and hours for nothing just to get a Boss that is in a kinda unbeatable state - and then with just only ONE TRY as a Warlock..... no thanks. FIX THIS @#$% BLIZZARD, DO YOUR ^&*!ING JOB FINALLY!

My 199 BM Hunter just got this boss on floor 18 of TC layer 2 with 3.3 million health (I beat him on floor 6 of the same run, with not nearly as much health). On my first go, I tried the strategy of destroying the orbs before he casts Mass Devour and only got him to about half health before I died. Then I read the tip from a BM Hunter earlier in this thread saying to ignore the orbs and focus on interrupting Mass Devour. That’s what I did on my second try and I took him down. Counter Shot doesn’t interrupt Mass Devour, so I alternated Intimidation and Freezing Trap. When you use Freezing Trap, any orbs that are up disappear. In between, I just DPSed him and kept an eye on my Clefthoof pet’s health. Worked like a charm!

Encountered this boss twice on The Upper Reach Layer 8, floor 6. As a 202 item level BM hunter, this boss is impossible without good anima powers. This boss is way over tuned to ruin your run and make your day miserable. Failed in the first encounter with average anima power. In the second encounter, I was able to finish him off with "Soulsteel Pinon" ( Increases crit dmg and hit chance by 100% when using intimidation), two stack of "Super Soul Scope" (Increase crit chance of resonating arror by 50%), two stack of "Piercing Scope" (Increase damage by 30%), "Bone Barbs" (Increase kill shot dmg by 100%), two stack of "Obleron Spikes" (Increase crit chance by 6%), and finally two stack of "Obleron Endurance" (Increase max health by 30%).
So guys, to beat this boss, you need to have best dps anima powers possible, and medium to top health and healing anima powers possible. Else your valuable time is gonna get wasted.. all that effort to floor 6, and gets wiped by this boss.

I was able to kill him solo on layer 7 of Upper Reaches. I was on my Shadow Priest. It was a hard fight, luckily as a shadow priest I had fairly frequent Interrupts, and had the Anima Power that makes a copy of yourself with fade and draws aggro, which also has a short cooldown. I can see how some classes unlucky with Anima powers would have a very difficult time beating him alone.

Comment section of Torghast bosses are full with "boo hoo I can't do it" but no one, barely anyone explains the tacts here.

So instead of complaining or sharing how "I DID IT", I am gonna explain what "you have to do".

1) This is a cleave fight, again a CLEAVE fight. So respec before engaging this boss, and use talent setups for cleave/aoe fights. You don't need serious aoe here, just "cleave" is enough. And don't try to single target adds, they spawns relatively close to boss so cleave/aoe them down

2) This boss hits hard. So Try to grab every kind of health increasing anima powers such as Secret Spices, Obleron Endurance or "leech" anima powers such as Blaed of the lifetaker. Note that his abilities are physical damages so you can use armor increasing anima powers as well.

3) If you don't have enough self heal/defenses then focus on burst. You can prolong the fight if you have enough self heals. Doing this boss in tank spec is relatively easy. So if you are tank class then don't hesitate to tank him.

Shadow Priest ilvl 194: Killed this guy with quite an effort (one wipe) on L8. Basically just kiting and waiting on CDs. I didnt have good HP boost and it put me in risk. Fear animas really helped.

Just had him on layer 18 Twisting Corridors 5 on my Night Fae Feral ilvl 184. He had 4.7M HP. Basically a free kill if you have the right powers (which should not be a problem on layer 18).

Make sure to have Convoke buffed to the max (2x rare for 100% damage increase and the epic for the better abilities) and CD reduction as much as possible. CD reduction will make the fight faster but it will also work fine with the original 2min CD.

Go in steathed and just unleash Convoke, then run away from him until it is available again. Repeat until death. Even better if you have Lycara's Sash. Then cycle between Cat, Bear and normal Form to have permanent Barkskin, Stampeding Roar and Frenzied Regen on you.

BTW: Fully buffed Convoke melts any Elite, Rare and level Boss on any Layer. Even most of the bosses on 6 and 12 die during one channel. I always run in and out until I get the first 50% damage increase as starting power and then it's easy going.

Solo Marksmanship Hunter with pet active: Cleared Goxul the Devourer on 3rd attempt. I had 2 x Euphoria Emblem buffs but only killed Goxul after purchasing Fleeting Frenzy Potion which helped in one-shotting the Orbs with Arcane Shot then following up by using Mend pet or Exhillation for recovery in rotation... no moving about required.

I'm a BM Hunter. I used 3 of the smoke bombs from the vendor, a few traps, regular rotation and he died in maybe 5 minutes. :)

Hey All,

Gotta say. Did this as Prot Warrior...easiest boss ever. He got through my Fleshcraft shield at about 10% boss health....then I refreshed it...didn't take any damage.

I did take all the armour increasing powers through the run though. May have helped.

I am a 194 BM hunter. Goxul is impossible to defeat for certain classes hunter is one of them. I brought him down to <30% but he keeps killing my pet and I have no more cc's. Won't waste my time again until Goxul fight is fixed to be fair for all classes.

Funny story :-)

Did this boss at layer 8 just now. Here's what happened ...

Powers :

- Forcewing (Havoc)
- Disemboweler's Hook
- Slayer's Lesson, i chose Unbound Chaos
- bought Frenzywing from Broker Ve'nott and fel rushed to the boss

Activated Immolation Aura and started rushing through him. After ~35 seconds, one renewal of Immolation Aura and zero hp loss, boss dropped dead !

This %@#$% gave me plenty of grief in previous encounters but killing him with using only 2 abilities felt very, very good ... and hilarious :-)
