I would suggest killing the arcane anomalies before the syphoners - it is very difficult to have a tank hold aggro on these due to the mana shield (100% absorbed = 0 aggro from damage). When they die they pop an area effect called "Loose Mana" that restores around 200 mana every second or every other second to everyone standing in it, which is very helpful with the syphoners draining everyone.

These stop spawning when the curator dies, otherwise they are on a 45 minute respawn.

it happen to be a bug to kill this mob in a very easy way.

have hunter pull and feign death to reset, it will lose it's mana shield for some reason and will not cast it back in a short time. pull the pack again and you can kill it by a shot or two.

in addition, you have a loose mana buff from it too

We tried blasting one of these guys with a high-damage spell (they take damage from the first attack you hit them with, before they can put up their mana shield). However, it only took him down to 1%, so we strongly suspect that they can't be killed by the first attack.

Priest's Mana burn does 1500 "damage" to these. If the priest has the improved mana burn talent(PvP talent) they can tear through these.

since these guys use a "mana shield" I doubt it, but can it be spellstealed?

if so they would go down in seconds, dont think you can but you never know...

Warlocks can one-shot these guys with the new destruction spell Chaos Bolt making it a little faster kara run =).

I came on here trying to find out the exact respawn timer — I always remembered in BC loving to come into here because these mobs dropped so many motes of mana. This spot in Karazhan might be a viable way to farm them in Cataclysm — this place is easy to get to; the mobs are easy to kill, at least as 85; and they do come back, if I remember right — this, all depending on the respawn timer mind you.

Edit: From my first sweep-through, I received: 42 Mote of Mana.

The respawn timer is well over 17 minutes — and, I think, I do recall the standard instance respawn being close to 2 hours, so. The Menagerie (the Curator's room in Karazhan), while it does drop quite a bit, is not a viable farming spot for these motes.
