To trigger Sire Ladinas you need Pick up a Remnant of Light around The Desiccation and use Light Impalement on Crazed Ash Ghoul.
I don't know if you need stay trying until the rare trigger or just wait for rare spawn time and try one time to spawn.
Sire Ladinas spawn for me after 1 hour trying.
When the rare spawn Crazed Ash Ghoul will speak the following message in your chat: "The Light... buuurns!".

Sire Ladinas is located in the Revendreth The Desiccation zone (South of the Sinfall).

To summon the rare you need to pick up Remnant of Light from the ground.
You get Carrying Remnant of Light and extra action button spell Light Impalement on pick up.
Use the extra action button spell on Crazed Ash Ghoul mobs in the area.

Throwing the Light Impalement has a small chance to trigger a yell
Crazed Ash Ghoul says: Nowhere to hide!
Crazed Ash Ghoul yells: The Light... buuurns!
And this means that the rare will come down to the area soon in the middle of the area.

Took about 50 light shards thrown into ash ghouls to spawn, and he did not drop the toy. Seems fairly annoying to spawn given the drop rate

Scorched Scavengers can also spawn him from throwing the Remnants of Light.

138 Ash Ghouls + 31 minutes after (and of course, no toy):

Have patience, it takes a while.
May it have something to do with respawn? Amalgamation of Light rare close to this one was also not available when I was farming for this.
Mine spawned from a Blistering Ash Ghoul, so I guess both Crazed and Blistering Ash Ghouls work.
They sometimes emote (yellowish color text), but the rare spawns when they yell (redish color text).
As soon as one of them yell, you can stop farming. Rare does some roleplay flying in and he takes like 20-30 seconds to arrive. You can check where he is coming from by looking at the star in the minimap.

Believe there's an internal 'cooldown' in between spawns.

As a Collector I absolutely despise this Rare...

Edit -- Finally got it... only took 2 months of doing him every day. I can finally spend that time wastage into doing something else now, like an Alt...

Did this today with a friend and got him to spawn in ~15 mins. Highly recommend bringing a druid along, since you can do this really quickly and both loot and throw the shards whilst in travel form.

dont the ash ghouls kinda scare anyone else ? lets not become them - avoid burnout :
every time i run thru the desiccation area around this spawn i set a timer-

/stopwatch 500

get as many light-rocks into as many miserable ash ghouls as possible before the timer is done . once it is done , continue where i was going . Haven't seen this spawn yet , but i dont care , i will see it one day

the same thing is helpful for any grind really . just prioritize with a bigger number - if i wanna get a lot of skinning done , or a lot of avowed rep .. i just set a longer timer for that and do as efficiently as i can until it ends

As I just missed a kill I decided to farm to see how long until he spawned again. Took me 30minutes of killing before another The Light...buuurns! and he spawned.

Keep one shooting most of these so requires a bit of luck to not do that... I assume they need to not die instantly so they get a chance to trigger their line. EDIT: never mind even if they get one shot they trigger their lines at times. Just need to get lucky...

This WA will simply counts how many times the Light Impalement is casted around you. It is a modification of foul observer killing counter also made by myself.

I usually get the rare summoned around 120~150 casts.

What I didn't see anyone mention is that this mob can decimate lower level chars.

I was doing the bonus objective there with my fairly fresh level 51 alt char, and POOF! this mob appears.
He's level 61 to me so I can't touch him and he has like almost 10x my health.
And plus the joy that he hangs out near where he kills you (because it was almost instant) and when you
try to rez, even as far away as possible, he'll see you and he'll come after you.
Thanks Blizz, that was so NOT fun!

Be patient, it can spawn with 20 shots or with 200.

You have to be fisically in The Dessication
Pick up Remmnant of Light on the ground and you get extra action Button Light Impalement
Throw it to any mob in the area (Crazed, Blistering, Scorched, Bandit)
It spawns when you get the yell "Scorched Scavenger yells: The Light... buuurns!"
It is not necessary to one shot the mob, you get the yell on hit, not on kill
Tea Tales world quest have nothing to do with the rare, you can get the yell even with world quest up
If you dont one shot the mob you have another try, u can get the yell on the second hit
I never got the yell killing mobs didnt one shot with Light Impalement and finished with abilities

For those asking about an internal CD on the spawn, I heard one shout @ 12:11PM Server(Ran over and missed the spawn, pah), and then I made one shout @ 12:42PM. So about 31 minutes~ between shouts, if anyone can get it to spawn faster please report it in the comments section! It wouldn't surprise me if there was an internal CD of 25-30 min.

I used 204 yellow shards and nothing BUT I did get the Nowhere to Hide a few times so I used a shard on one of the Blistering NOT the crazy and BAM the rare spawned. Not sure if was luck or not. I was not near the mound he spawns on. I was up a ways so it is safe to say you dont have to kill on the mound to spawn him.

Been farming this dude 6x a day for a week and I want to die.

Today I had a yell but no rare spawn. Ran around for a few minutes throwing more shards and then he spawned (no yell). Might be that he was on respawn but the yell still triggered him to activate as soon as he respawned. First time I've seen this and I've killed him way too many times.

You don't actually have to get the killing blow with the ability. I had a ghoul yell and spawn the rare by just getting hit with it.

If you're wondering why you're having trouble spawning him. It's because someone else just did. Forcing you to wait his CD of about 30min-1hr. Don't bother trying to spawn him if you haven't been able to within about 50 attempts on a ghoul.

A personal pain-point I wish Blizzard could stop doing would be to STOP putting cr@p droprates on cool items (like mounts, toys, mogs) on rares that take effort to spawn. I'm talking about the Oily Invertebrate in the Maldraxxus Slime Pools, or Sire Ladinas. You need to spend 20 minutes of your day to make the rare spawn... only to have 35 Anima as a reward. Cool.

I spawned Sire Ladinas as a druid using multiple Remnant of Light on the same target as they reset health if you don't one shot them when flying. This was by accident that I used three Remnants on the same target as I was trying to one shot it. The third one triggered the rare. I will note that I didn't actually kill the mob when he yelled The Light... buuurns! as others suggest that you have to one shot the mob.

I guess its safe to assume that he spawns based the number of times the remnants are used and not if the mob dies.

over 100 kills right now and it still hasn't spawned yet. Who ever thought of this idea should be fired.

Update #1 I've reached over 220 kills now and i still can't spawn it.

Update #2 240th kill finally spawned the bastard and of course no toy. Honest advice for anyone trying to get it, is to stop and wait for a fix or a 100% drop rate change

This goes a lot faster on a druid. You can pick up AND throw the light shards in flight form. Got the toy after exactly 20 kills

Anyone able to summon this post 9.2? I have spent 2x 3 hours sessions in 2 days and it did not summon. I know Ladinas was always a pain in the back to summon and I am used to it, but this is different.

Took me about 30 minutes to finally spawn him. I used a Light Remnant on a nearby Crazed Ash Ghoult when it started to yell "The light... buuurns!". Then the rare just came down from the nearby hill on a round way. The toy drop for first kill, however I'm not sure if it has 100% drop chance or not.

Blizz. Please. Change how this rare works as far as summoning it. If it's available, make the light shards available, and vice versa. I don't want to have to sit here for hours/get 200+ kills when I don't even know when it was last summoned.

I just found him up without me doing the farming. i don't know if anyone else spawned him by mistake. I got the toy as well.
Maybe the did something and fixed his spawn and the low drop rate of the toy.... or I was extremely lacky

This is either RNG on how many crystals you need to throw or they have changed it, last couple of times of late I have not thrown much at all and had him spawn, never seen another person trying to do the summon. To top it off I summoned him twice today within 10 minutes, but the second time I summoned him on an alt I had to wait 5 minutes before he showed up.

Right, so a little update on this rare, shall we.

There are no direct count of Remnant of Light uses needed, even when you process to get the right speech, it isn't always certain it'll spawn the rare due to how they say it.

Does not spawn it.

Not sure if it has been posted or not yet. However Seeing as you only need to Cast the light crystal and you DO NOT NEED TO KILL them with it, druids do not ever need to leave flight form making this farm completely hassle-free.

I'll just chip in and say that any creature in the area where the remnants of light spawn will work for spawning the rare, including the bandits and scavengers. There seem to be a lot of people here in the comments that are misinformed about this. Rarescanner does say it's crazed ash ghouls only, but this is incorrect.

i killed over 300 crzed ash ghouls and nothing, i am sure this is bugged in some realms or something fishy. this is not the first time that i killed over hundred mobs and nothing happens, farming for 1hour a few days and not a single time the rare spawned

Been doing it with a paladin a few times and it appeared after 40 mins or so.

decided to level a druid just for convenience and he spawns around the 5 minute mark.

maybe it has something to do with the frequency/speed of the remmants of light being used idk.

will update when i get the toy. (hopefully soon) (leveling another druid to double the chances)

edit 1: noticed that on my druid (level 61) mobs live the blast, and on my main i was 1 shotting them, so decided to remove all the equipment to reduce some damage and it spawned at the 10 minute mark

still no toy.

as a lvl 70 I was one shotting the ghouls with the light crystal. I targeted only the Scorched Scavenger and Scorched Bandit. They would usually survive the crystal unless I critted. The rare eventually spawned from a Bandit after about 15-20mins of trying.

Farmed for about an hour before i gave up..... The toy is really cool and I would use it all the time if I had it, but a 5% drop on something that can take 1+ hour to even spawn a rare.... If you go for this toy, try taking off all your gear on a lvl 70. I think thats the only way...
