This is the only tamable gold phalynx model in Bastion, and it can only be tamed during the quest You Go First. If you missed it like I did, that was your one and only chance to tame it. You can't get back into the chamber and, I assume, you wouldn't be able to resummon it even if you could.

I really hate that if you don't do a bunch of homework on the expansion ahead of time, you screw yourself by just jumping in and having fun. If this is the only one, we should be able to resummon it after we complete the one-time quest. Locking us out permanently seems like bad design. It's not like it's a rare, a challenge tame, or anything like that either.

I just tamed this beaut! I did NOT finish the quest, so I am happy to spawn it for any hunters who may have completed the quest without knowing about this. Silly Blizzard, making it a one-time thing.....

You Go First is frequently bugged. Wouldn't be shocked if it was due to hunters taming this mob. Bad oversight on Blizz's part.

Just tamed it too, Tarren Mill, and dropped quest. No bugs for me, and available if any hunter needs. Just DM (Denomina) me in game.

For you BMs out there: It's also worth noting that you can tame this creature multiple times by simply waiting in the room until the cat statues respawn, at which point just activate the incense burner again and go through the same motions as before.

If you are not Kyrian you can get a Kyrian friend to lead these mecha-cats outside. They need to be outside of the door before you can target and tame them.

If any Alliance on Staghelm or connected worlds wants this, I did the quests up to this lovely spawning and have left it alone, message Meiglyhn, and if I'm in world, I'll gladly take you over to get it.

Alliance on Kel'Thuzad and left the quest at this point so I can go back and tame again if I want. Anyone who can joint a group with me whisper Ergoth and I'll be happy to help.

There is a trick to taming this mechanical cat, even 2 of them for those beast masters that like having two companions.
(Make sure you can tame mechanical pets)

You need to be level 60, the quest chain activates only then.
The quest chain starts with Haetio 36 37 Bastion under the cliff, titled "How to Become Forsworn"
(I skipped the beginning quests as a secondary character and could still tame this pet)

They detail the quest chain really well in a fantastic chart.

Follow the quest chain until you get the quest "You Go First"

Lighting the censor will activate the silver cats, tame or kill as your preference.
If you tame the first two, the encounter may freeze at that point, it did for me. In this case, run back to quest giver, abandon the quest and log out of the game. The quest doesn't completely reset with just abandoning it in my experience, logging out after it was abandoned worked to completely reset the quest.

Log back in, pick up the quest, go again, kill the silver cats this time until the gold activates, then tame. You can tame it a second time! Just head back to quest giver, abandon the quest, log, and then repeat the process.

((Edit: As of Oct 30, 2021, the quest has been repaired. The cats and the activation censor will now respawn while you are still on the quest, no need to abandon the quest or do the logging out trick any longer.))

You CAN tame this pet if you have already completed the quest! Get a friend who has not completed the quest to pull aggro and kite the boss up to just outside the door. freeze trap him and have your friend log off. auto attack to gain aggro and once your friend despawns the boss will aggro you and you can tame it! This trick also works for the silver phalynx on either side of the boss.

If any hunter missed taming this beauty, you can replay the quest using party sync and tame it.

For some odd reason, Animal companion doesn't spawn the 2nd Pet as the same First Guardian of Kalliope even tho it has been tamed twice and are in the first and second slot of your pets, swapping the second slot with something else works fine and you have different pet using animal companion

As of 01st September, 1058 GMT-5, I am on this phase of the questline and am happy to sync up with Alliance side hunters looking to tame. (I don't have any Horde characters here yet but will update once I've fixed that.) I'll keep an eye on the comments today if someone happens to give me a shout.
