A reference to Papillon, an autobiographical novel written by Henri Charrière and published in 1969.

Papillon was his nickname, and is French for Butterfly.

He was imprisoned after a wrongful murder conviction, on the French penal colony of French Guiana, on a series of islands. Devil's Island is where he had asked to be transferred to, from which he subsequently escaped but was later recaptured.

According to the pet journal, this drops from Fresh Jelly Deposit, alongside the Sunsoaked Flitter, but according to AH tracking sites and pet tracking sites, no one has learned this and it has never appeared on an Auction House.

Either this is bugged and doesn't drop, or it only comes from a Fresh Jelly Deposit after a really high (impossible?) wave has been reached on a Harvester event.

If you obtain this, let us know where you got it, and if you get it from a harvester event, which wave did you reach?

If I remember rightly, Papillon attempted to escape on the seventh wave. May be a clue in there...

Devil's Island was a prison island. Since part of N'Zoth is below Stormsong Valley.. I'm wondering if anyone has come across a prison area we might not be thinking about. I've been all around the Shrine island.. and even over to the one in the northwest that looks like it's in a fatigue zone. I've gone through underwater searching.. etc. Anyone else?

1. Show up to beevent (node eligibility resets on the hour, not personal cd).

2. Tag a small trash mob to participate (mob must die).

3. Tag ELITE-RARE for weekly quest item, do a lot of DPS (hp buff is nerfed but still active, elites spawn on each 5th wave, not always a rare).

4. Loot node, hope for butterfly (rare drops).

The max wave doesn't matter and barely matters when jelly farming. An extra 2-5 end jelly is 1-2 wild jelly nodes or 200g on the AH.

Please mark custom groups with WM on or off!

Papi is now dropping from the Fresh Jelly Deposit after Harvester Events in Stormsong. It doesn't seem to matter what "round" you get to as I have seen it on 12 and 22. We had a raid of 30 people or so, and only 1 person had it drop, so it seems rather rare. I think it would be safe to assume it was bugged for the past 2-3 weeks.

As of yesterday I just looted a 2nd Papi pet....both drops were on the Island Bee Event for some reason...but I have seen Papi drop at other locations if I remember correctly....it could be he only drops from the Island Event which is at coords 32,32. As this pet refers too Papillon and Devil's Island.

Summarising the above and adding some tips:

Papi has a rare chance to drop from the Fresh Jelly at the end of a bee event in Stormsong Valley
It was hot-fixed at some point, as previously it was not dropping
Horde players cannot loot the jelly (though they can contribute to killing the waves)
Once the event has started, you have 5 minutes to kill as many waves as possible
You can use the Stopwatch (on your clock icon) to keep track of the time
However, the number of waves does not appear to impact the drop chance for the pet
Players are reporting that the island event (there's a reference on the tool-tip) has the best drop chance /way 33.05 32.43
Best chance for jelly drops is to create a group in Group Finder and get at least 5 players before starting the event by chatting to the bee
Include whether Warmode is On or Off in the title and the event location in the description, e.g. Bee Event **WM OFF** Sabertooth Island, N of Fort Devlin /way 33 32
Use Heroism/Timewarp on a single big mob - this will give you the weekly quest for extra rep/jelly at the hive (I had 2 out of 3 mobs from 6 waves give a quest)
There's a hidden timer - you can only loot the Jelly once per hour

Legend has it that these purple butterflies came from a place called Devil's Island.

The location of this NPC is unknown.
