Recommend spending all of your Phantasma on any available buffs and potions.

Ignore the add's and focus on the boss.

There are multiple bosses you can get. I got this one to 1% solo on as a lock but moving him off the ring buff was problematic. There is a slime boss also that takes added damage from magic but slows and eats buffs and armor, and a scythe boss (easiest of all i've seen) that just does completely avoidable rain.

If you're struggling to kill him fast enough using a tank spec, focus on the boss as everyone suggests, but walk him backwards slowly every time he spawns new adds. You should do this mainly to outrange the adds and their damage, but also to stop the 50% damage buff the boss gets while standing in his puddles.

I have no idea how to survive this fight as an arcane mage. It would be hard enough but not impossible to win against the boss on its own what with my limited mana and hitpoints, but with those adds the fight appear to be impossibly hard.

kiting this boss away from the adds made him waaaay easier. did it with no issue as a 167 ilvl ele shaman.

As a fury warrior I found it worthwhile to rely on the adds for Victory Rush procs when my health was low, but make sure to kill them off quickly as they can overwhelm you in great numbers (Whirlwind + Execute combo helps a lot to kill them faster). I also tried to Heroic Leap away from the Warden of Souls when it casted the fear and attempted to kill some shades in the meantime. Other than that I moved it away from its ground buff and as far away from the adds as possible, and used Ignore Pain on cooldown for survivability. Managed to do it on the second try with item level 160.

I just killed him as a 169 fire mage on level 3. If you didn't know, you can kite him off that platform on top so you wont have to deal with the souls he summons, but its completely time based, because you might have to run across them with alter time.

1. Pop time warp and burst him with the opener
2. Use mirror images as a defensive to absorb soul's damage soon after your opener
3. Kite him, blink away down the stairs, use doors if you're a venthyr(it really helped)
4. You can save 2 charges of blink to get past him while having barrier on and use alter time in full hp when you get hit by souls
5. Run back up to the platform across the souls while they hit you with alter time and get closer to the exit
6. Your combustion will be up by now. Burst him down with barrier on

*If you're undergeared then its a little hard. If you're opener and rotations are good then you can down him with 2 combusts.

Takes a couple tries, but don't panic. Its completely doable.

Managed him on balance druid iLvl 147 on 3rd try. Followed the advice here to ignore the adds and move him backwards out of his buff circles; interrupt the fear ability as much as possible. Used treants, any and all CCs to keep him off me. Resto affinity for extra healing and maybe was lucky with anima powers. I ended up cornered at the end of the hall, but he was almost dead by that point. Definitely challenging.

Solo'd as a 175 BM Hunter, used my core hound, popped all CD's and primal fury, ignored add's, 1 health pot and exhilaration used. Easy.

Just beat this boss as a 165 Guardian Druid. Didn't get the best anima powers but he only took me two attempts. I ran to the back behind him and aggroed. I popped convoke and berserk right away. The key for me was to move him once he spawned a puddle, to get him off it. The adds were on me most of the time and didn't hurt that much. Letting the boss soak in the puddle had him dishing more damage than I could handle on my first attempt.
Bears seem to have it a little easy in Torghast at the moment.

As far as I can tell this fight is totally dependent on getting some OP anima powers. 152 O-rogue, I had no cooldown Crimson Vial, 125% additional damage on Dispatch, and a potion that upped my attack power by 30% as long as I stayed in combat, (no problem on this fight) as well as poisons, shaded weightstones, food buff, and flask buff. Backed him off the ramp away from his adds, spammed my attacks and Crimson Vial, fight was over in 30 seconds. If it weren't for those three OP anima buffs I could have never beaten it.

Tons of comments on how people beat him, no one describing the fight. So here's the basic rundown:

He casts a well of souls AoE puddle underneath his current position every 20s or so. You will need to move him out of this as it buffs him. It is not particularly large so you should not need to worry about running out of space on the platform unless you are extremely slow to kill him.

He summons 3 shades on the same ~20s cooldown as well. Their position is a bit random but they are usually clumped and near him/you. These shades are stationary and have a channeled cast that does a decent amount of damage. After 1 minute they will despawn, but you can easily end up with 9+ of these alive at once, in which case the total damage will be very hard to survive.

The adds have very little health and are easy to kill if you have accessible cleave/AoE. They are great fodder if kills/final blows are helpful to your spec/anima powers. For melee the primary issue is the fact that they are stationary, so be careful with positioning puddles to keep adds accessible. If you *cannot* keep up with killing them then your only option is to range their spell-cast. It has what appears to be a 35yd range, so it's not easy to get out of range without using all the terrain (off the platform onto the bridge, etc.)

Finally, he casts an interruptible fear. This is his *only* spellcast so feel free to use your interrupt. Melee and ele shamans will have no problem interrupting every cast. Other ranged classes will need to figure out how to eat every other fear without getting ruined by the AoE puddles or fleeing into range of the adds.

iLvl 154 Warlock.

Initially I got stomped by the adds channeling.

I finally beat it by staying out of the ads range so they couldn't use the huge damage channel ability on me. At that point the fight becomes very easy.

Hi, tried the kiting method described here often and have to say to pull the boss away AND out of range from the adds you have to kite him a long way, all this time no damage ... and he maybe casting his fear shortly after starting kiting. The cast range of the adds is so high, and I had to pull him very far... Also, the damage from the adds felt extreme to me. I also could not get the adds down fast enough, even putting my Treants up for distraction (Balance Druid, 160 gs). Good luck, everyone :)

Frost mage here, only item lvl 130. This guy killed me a couple times while I ran around avoiding circles on the floor, trying to kill adds, etc. My last fight I just buffed up, stood my ground, focused only on him, and used every spell I had that wasn't on cooldown. He killed me again.... but I got him too. I resurrected, ran back up the stairs to his room, and collected my reward! Which sadly wasn't much. 2 gold I think..... I just realized I never used Time Warp, which might have helped.... The new Alter Time probably would have helped too, but missed that too.

For all the rogues or probably any other class having problems asking how to kill, I don't know the right way but here is how I did it with my ilvl 137 rogue....I just kept hitting with everything I had all the while walking backwards. Ended up in the doorway I went through to get to him and he finally went down there and I still had probably 50% health left. Goes much easier/better like everyone else has said if you get him away from his adds. Good Luck!

174 enhance, layer 6, can't do it. Earth Ele keeps him in the pools. I can't figure how to outrange the adds as he keeps dropping them along the bridge and there are too many to kill. I hadn't had any problems up until the end, powers felt average. Been better, been worse.

Soled as 173 feral druid. With some lucky anima powers I had 150% extra Convoke damage and 100% extra damage for 5 seconds after coming out of Prowl, so I opened with that. As soon as Convoke was done channeling, I turned around and ran back to the bridge and after that it was a matter of kiting him backward, keeping Rip up with Ferocious Bite (at least 4 combo points on each Bite) and an instant cast Regrowth after every Bite. Also had to pop Barkskin, Survival Instincts and Renewal. Even with all that I just barely outlasted the adds, with less than 5% hp left on my last life when he finally went down.

Soloed as ilvl 154 Feral Druid. Used prepot, and convoke after I moved him out of the first pool. He was dead b4 the second pool or need to interrupt fear.

194 Disc Priest on Layer 8, barely made it through just kiting the boss and ignoring adds. Got the anima power for instant mind blast which was nice when my door was on cooldown. Had to food, pot, and flask to make it work.

don't kite him in circles, his adds have a very long range. kite him across the bridge and back, he won't leash.

Just tried to do in the new wing of torghast, floor 12. iLvl 186 Outlaw Rogue. It's nearly impossible to kill him. I tried dragging him out of the circle, killing the souls when they popped, but I would get him down to about 700k hp or so, and just die. After 4-5 deaths, I gave up for the night. I'll try again tomorrow, and see if getting the one anima power somebody suggested works or not. Pretty frustrating. It almost felt like when you were a kid, and your parents offering to reward you for getting good grades, and they buy you a new toothbrush. :(

Well they parked this guy at the end of Level 18 this week, and BOY OH BOY IS HE FUN TO TRY AND SOLO.

184 Ret paladin, I got him to about 30% kiting him around the level. Any time I he pissed green I kited him off. Any time he went to howl I timed my interrupt late. I kept him away from the adds. The green pools don't hurt you if you get on them, so when I got backed up against the wall, I stunned him and used my charger to get back to the other end of the room and started over.

23 stacks of unnatural power proved to be an untenable effort, and he eventually one shot me.

But hey.

I guess I can say I got all the way to candyland or something.

Completed this total nightmare of a boss in Twisting Corridors: Layer 8, Floor 18.
I am a ilvl 196 Fire Mage and was with a ilvl 201 Prot Pally.

The only way it was done was with the Anima Power: "Bottled Enigma" - A cloud of obscuring mist surrounds you, preventing enemies from targeting into or out of the mist.

This mist works by stopping the add's from targeting you and damaging you as long as they don't enter your mist. If you let them enter your mist, they lock onto you again and you start taking ALOT of damage. The tank and I had to stand pretty much next to each other so that we both were covered by the mist, but just far enough away from the add's so they couldn't enter it. There was alot of slow walking backwards during this fight to keep us both at the right distance away from the add's at all times, while trying to dps the boss and interrupt his Howl.

We basically kited him around the map, moving the boss out of the green pools his drops on the ground and keeping us both in my mist. We ignored the add's and only dps'd them if we were getting too close to them and they were going to enter the mist. This only happened near the end as we had so many green pools on the ground it was insane and a heap of add's had spawned by then.

I also interrupted the bosses Howl every time he did it also. I had the Fire Juggler (Your Fire Blast launches your enemy into the air) anima power so that was extremely handy too.

It took a fair while and a lot of coordination but eventually we did it.

Just a note - we had gotten this boss the day before in Twisting Corridors on Layer 7, Floor 18 and couldn't kill him. We wiped the entire thing each time. I did NOT have the Bottled Enigma on that run which is why we wiped.

Bottled Enigma - the only thing that saved us on this final run. Without it, I think I would of uninstalled WoW lol.

This boss ended up being my Twister Corridor layer 8 level 18 boss.

186 BM hunter; if you have the Feign Death anima power that reduces the CD by 15 seconds and removes any debuffs on you this will allow you to interrupt the channel from the shadow minions that he spawns should one accidentally target you (You should avoid being near them, mine had 260K HP and were doing half my HP a channel tick).

Tar Trap with maximum anima powers is enough to keep the boss in place for the whole duration of the fight. The boss drops a puddle increasing his damage by 50% but you're basically kiting the boss and he'll be smacking your pet dead plenty of times that you're just biding for your burst abilities to come up. My burst combo was always: Hunter's Mark, Tar Trap, Misdirect, Bestial Wrath, Wild Spirits, Intimidating Shout, Kill Command (Hardest hitting ability), Cobra Shot (Resets Kill Comand), and alternate Cobra/Kill Command. Barbed shot ended up becoming a huge DPS loss for my run near the mid-floor point. I just kept him stuck as much as possible while back-peddling and getting in as much as I could between bursts.

I feel there's only 1 correct way to play BM hunter with anima powers at layer 8 and that's maximizing burst potential through Damage%+ powers like Sigil of Skoldus, Soul Steel Pinion, Amplifying Mirror, etc. I also did this with a Clefthoof so while under Misdirect his 'Smack' ability ended up doing decently. Looking at my report it also looks like Lens of the Elchaver ended up doing 31% of my total damage on this fight, so that power is really worth it.

Sorry for the long post; I'm just exhausted from attempting layer 8 for 16+ hours and wouldn't wish bad RNG on anyone attempting this.

181 BM Hunter - Tar trap I believe is the only way this fight was pretty easily doable. Of course Wild Spirits with Intimidation 100% crit helps out too. I had to revive my pet twice, but outside of that, it seemed fairly straight forward as long as you have your traps and good tar trap animas (Increased Duration, Increased Size, ect ect) . Got him on Layer 2, Floor 18. This boss is SOOOOOOOOO much better than that stupid Blob Writhing Soulmass

I had Warden of Souls as level 18 final boss in Twisting Corridors. It is pretty trivial as a MM hunter if you can get the following:

Sticky Tar x2-3
Bottled Enigma

Just keep the boss in Tar Trap the whole time, use it on cooldown. Stay far enough back that neither he nor the adds can target you (due to Bottled Enigma.) Then just blow him up.

This is actually a pretty good strat for MM in general. Just buff Tar Trap then root everything.

Other powers that help with Warden of Souls (and other bosses) are:

Bursting Tar - For obvious reasons.
Bloodgorged Leech - This actually revives your pet indefinitely whenever it procs.

As a rogue burst him down with everything once adds spawn BLIND him and VANISH.

Adds will despawn and boss will remain blinded with low hp.

Recover yourself a bit, heal yourself if needed and reopen again on him, if adds spawn again run to the bridge to avoid their cast on you and finish him off.

I read here and kited him on my MM Hunter (across the bridge). What I haven't seen anyone say is that the adds ignore your pet, otherwise this wouldn't work.

There was no way I could keep up with the adds and do everything else on my Hunter. This kiting was the only way I could see to do it. When the adds started to target me (they have a long range) I would move back a little across the bridge, position my pet back a little and then keep dps'ing. I didn't try and interrupt the fear, I just dps'd him down and let my pet take it since he wasn't taking any other damage really.

I'm guessing that if you are any class/spec other than one that uses aoe as part of its rotation you are going to have to kite. Will be much harder to do as melee.

After reading the comments here I thought I was screwed. Rolling Demo, i never got that nice 500% hp/damage pet buff, sitting on 0 lives left when i got to him on floor 18 of layer 7 TC. Turns out he doesnt do a ton of melee damage so my pet was ok. I had the bottled enigma to keep the adds off me, and had a really long darkfury stun with 5 tyrants and it made this whole thing really trivial.

Not sure if this is a bug or not. But if you die near the vendor and you pop up, you immediately agro him before his health is reset to full. If you have enough deaths left, you can use this to your advantage.

I just completed torghast twisted corridors 8 with him as the last boss for layer 18. I was scared because i knew how hard he was specialy for a shadow priest...but if u have the the Bottled enigma power, the adds cant target u so u just kite the boss away from adds and they dont do anything..Helped me so much and just burned the boss down so easy. Hope this helps others out there as well

Assassination Rogue

The adds for this boss are really really annoying. The boss will cast a un-kickable spell that spawns 2 or 3 adds. These adds will cast a draining spell in unison which really adds up when you're a glass cannon.

I found that kiting the boss up and down the bridge makes it so it'll have to recast the adds as the adds don't follow too far. I also had a bunch of healing affixs like heal per move and healing bubbles. Kick his howling fear spell and you should be good to go!

I main an Enhance shaman and I've gotta say Torghast with a rogue is extremely frustrating. Not enough aoe to pull large packs so you end up having to just single target everything which takes a while and is just generally boring gameplay. Please Blizzard, better affixs for rogues in Torghast. Choreghast to the max

as a guardian druid, i used incarn and ravenous whenever up and when the souls spawned, i made sure to never interrupt the souls and only the fearsome howl, i focus killed souls with abilities and my moonfire and growl and right as they were up tried to kill them all, didnt focus boss much so slowly killed but basically

focus souls always, keep interrupt for the howl

Finally Found this guy, he is in deed in Mort'regar, tho may be else where, i zipped to floor three to check the holograms, donno why i started fighting thru the whole level at my ilvl that whole time.
