Stormwall Blockade is the eighth boss in Battle of Dazar'alor, found in the Might of the Alliance/Victory or Death wing, and the second Horde storyline encounter.

Alliance players will participate in this encounter through a flashback event by talking to a Scout and changing their race and racials. Find out more about the Flashback Race Changes in our Battle of Dazar'alor Raid Overview.

The Alliance zone Stormsong Valley examines the power of the Tidesages and their connection to the sea--for better or worse.

Brother Joseph and Sister Katherine are devout worshippers of the waves. These proud Kul Tirans would gladly risk their lives to ensure the safety of their compatriots. Their command over sea and storm is awesome to behold, as are the ancient and powerful rituals they practice.

Overview – Working to cover the main portion of the Alliance fleet as they fell back, a cadre of Stormsong tidepriests have established a blockade and summoned an overwhelming elemental to wash away Dazar'alor's port area. Re-establish a foothold on the docks, overrun the alliance ships and return the summoned monstrosity back to the deep before they destroy a large portion of the city.
- Tanks –
  Interrupt Brother Joseph's and Sister Katherine's Empowerments when you can.
  Use [Kelp-Wrapped Fists] to slow Energizing Storms.
- Healers –
  If affected by [Tempting Song], try to position yourself as far away from the Siren as possible.
  Keep moving to avoid being hit by [Voltaic Flash].
- Damage Dealers –
  If affected by [Tempting Song], try to position yourself as far away from the Siren as possible.
  Keep moving to avoid being hit by [Voltaic Flash].
  Use [Storm's Wail] to remove [Freezing Tidepools].

Empowering the storm

Throughout the course of the fight, Laminaria receives energy from various sources. When Laminaria reaches 100 Energy, [Catastrophic Tides] is cast.

Catastrophic Tides – Brings the fury of the sea down on all the caster's enemies, instantly killing them.

Stage One: Storm the Ships

Sister Katherine
- Voltaic Flash – Calls upon lightning to whip across the deck of the ship, inflicting 60 Nature damage to all players caught in its paths.
- Crackling Lightning – Calls down a bolt of lightning at a target's location, inflicting 45 Nature damage to all players within 6 yards of the impact point. After Crackling Lightning is cast, Thunderous Boom is cast at the same location.
  - Thunderous Boom – Sends a cacophonous sound wave in all directions, inflicting 16474 Nature damage and silencing all players within 12 yards of the impact point. Being further from epicenter reduces the length of the silence.
- Electric Shroud – Wraps the caster in a watery shield, absorbing 8471 damage and making the wearer immune to interrupts.(
  After casting [Electric Shroud], each tidepriest will cast [Tidal Empowerment].)
  - Storm's Empowerment – Empowers Laminaria, increasing its Energy by 3 every 3 sec.
- Jolting Volley – Fires bolts of crackling lightning at all nearby players, inflicting 5150 Nature damage.
- Soul of the Tidepriestess
  When Sister Katherine dies, her soul appears and begins channeling [Greater Storm's Empowerment] on Laminaria. When both Tidepriests are dead, their souls depart.
  - Greater Storm's Empowerment – Empowers Laminaria, increasing its Energy by 5 every 2 sec.
Brother Joseph
- Sea Storm – Summons a series of freezing storms at players' locations, inflicting 27 Frost damage to all players within 5 yards of the impact point. A Sea Storm is left at the location, continuously inflicting 8 Frost damage every 1 sec to all nearby players and reducing their movement speed by 50%.
- Sea's Temptation – Summons a Tempting Siren to assist the tidepriest.
  - Tempting Siren
    Tempting Song – Tempts a nearby player, causing them to walk towards the caster. If the target reaches their destination, they jump off the ship. Tempting Song also inflicts 4 Nature damage every 1 sec.
- Tidal Shroud – Wraps the caster in a watery shield, absorbing 8471 damage and making the wearer immune to interrupts.(
  After casting [Tidal Shroud], each tidepriest will cast [Storm's Empowerment].)
  - Tidal Empowerment – Empowers Laminaria, increasing its Energy by 3 every 3 sec.
- Tidal Volley – Fires bolts of frozen water at all nearby players, inflicting 5150 Frost damage.
- Soul of the Tidepriest
  When Brother Joseph dies, his soul appears and begins channeling [Greater Tidal Empowerment] on Laminaria. When both Tidepriests are dead, their souls depart.
  - Greater Tidal Empowerment – Empowers Laminaria, increasing its Energy by 5 every 2 sec.
Translocate – Teleports to the other Alliance ship.(
The tidepriests cast [Translocate] when they reach certain health thresholds.)
Spawn of Laminaria – When the Spawn of Laminaria appears, it casts [Sea Swell].
- Sea Swell – The sea rises up, inflicting 50 Frost damage to each player and their allies within 4 yards. Additionally, a Freezing Tidepool is created at each location.
Translocation Pedestal – Teleports the user to the other ship. If both Brother Joseph and Sister Katherine are dead, the user is teleported back to the docks instead.

Stage Two: Laminaria

Souls of the Deep
The souls of Brother Joseph and Sister Katherine aid Laminaria in his assault on Dazar'alor.
Kelp-Wrapped Fists – Melee attacks apply Kelp-Wrapped, inflicting 618 Nature damage every 1 sec and reducing movement speed by 2%. This effect stacks. Upon expiration, causes Kelp Wrapping to everyone nearby.
- Kelp Wrapping – Wraps all nearby creatures in debilitating kelp, increasing damage taken by 10%. This effect stacks on non-players. The intensity of the damage taken is increased based on the number of stacks of Kelp-Wrapped the player had when it expired.
Sea Swell – The sea rises up, inflicting 50 Frost damage to each player and their allies within 4 yards. Additionally, a Freezing Tidepool is created at each location.
- Freezing Tidepool – Creates a pool of freezing waters, inflicting 5148 Frost damage every 1 sec to all players standing in it.

  On Mythic Difficulty, Freezing Tidepools clear a stack of [Kelp Wrapping] every second on any Energized Storm within its boundaries.

Ire of the Deep – A watery orb appears and slams down on the ground, inflicting 150 Frost damage, split evenly between all players hit by the attack. If no players are present, all players take 95 Frost damage, and multiple Freezing Tidepools are created.(
On Mythic Difficulty, [Ire of the Deep] also knocks back all players away, with the knock back force divided among all players struck.

Storm's Wail – Overcharges a player, inflicting 2059 Nature damage every 1 sec for 10 sec. Upon expiration, an Energized Storm is created.
While affected by Storm's Wail, Freezing Tidepools can be absorbed.
- Energized Storm – Upon spawning, Energized Storms move towards Laminaria. When they reach their destination, they cast [Energizing Wake].
  On Normal and LFR Difficulties When an Energized Storm dies, it casts [Storm's Wail] on a random player.
  - Energizing Wake – Empowers the target, increasing their Energy by 3 every 2 sec.
Storm's Wail – Overcharges a player, inflicting 2059 Nature damage every 1 sec for 10 sec. Upon expiration, an Energized Storm is created.
While affected by Storm's Wail, Freezing Tidepools can be absorbed.
- Energized Storm – Upon spawning, Energized Storms move towards Laminaria. When they reach their destination, they cast [Energizing Wake].
  On Heroic and Mythic Difficulties, when an Energized Storm dies, it leaves behind a Energized Remnant.

- Energized Remnant – Energized Remnant continuously casts [Unbound Energy] until it is picked up by a player. Picking up an Energized Remnant applies [Storm's Wail].
  - Unbound Energy – Sends out ripples of lightning in all directions, inflicting 4119 Nature damage every 2 sec and increasing Nature damage taken by 10%. This effect stacks.
