Gives you the first book for Writings of the End. You will see the following dialog:

I searched the world high and low for information! I wrote down everything. Even the inconsequential things. I've seen things you would not believe, lad. Things you would not believe!

Choose: What did you write down?

I wrote the story of this order. But that blasted apprentice lost all of them. All of them! It's ridiculous, I tell you. He sold them for mere coppers a page!

Choose: What did you do then?

I bought this one back, but the rest were long gone. Paid a pretty penny for it too, golds where that blasted fool got coppers. I've been searching high and low, but haven't been able to find more than rumors of the rest. These old bones aren't up for adventuring as they were.

Choose: <Take the book.>

After deleting the books to try and start afresh as the class hall books were not visible, he will no longer give me dialogue options.

I'd like to know what gear he is wearing, especially the shoulders which look similar to Shoulderpads of Faith... I like the ones he has on better though.

I'm at a loss folks and don't know where to turn. I've completed the quest for Light's Wrath. The problem is, it bugged at the last step and wouldn’t combine all twelve volumes. He never gave me that option or the option to complete the quest. I’ve read where you have to collect all twelve volumes before the weekly reset. But, I collected all twelve the same Friday afternoon so I don’t believe I collected any in different weeks (as the weekly reset is Tuesday, I believe and at 9 am). Now, what’s really odd about this, I’m getting the hidden effect Overloaded with Light after I tried to turn the quest into Archivist Inkforge with the twelve volumes in my bags.

I put a ticket into the GMs, but they seemed to think I wanted them to complete the quest for me or give me a hint or something. They said they’re not allowed to help a player with this quest. I told them I wasn’t asking for that kind of help. All I wanted was for them to either allow Archivist Inkforge to combine the volumes for me, or reset it and I’d do it again. Fell on deaf ears, they said I could reset it myself by abandoning the quest, which I tried. Now, he won’t offer it again. I explained that to the next GM who simply said again to abandon the quest. I asked how I was going to abandon a quest that’s already been abandoned and not offered again. He said to put in a bug report as there isn’t a known issue with the hidden appearance at the moment. Which I did, but that doesn’t help me (I explained that to the GM too) as the programmers who work on those things don’t contact the players to let them know what steps are being taken (if any) to correct the problem. IF they fix it, I’ll never know.

Ok, so I’m getting the effect, (I’ve taken screen shots with the fire trailing me as I walk. I have the icon next to the mini map that shows the tool tip “Overloaded with Light. Light’s Wrath is getting hot. Your next Light’s Wrath will do massive damage.” When I use Light’s Wrath during this time, I can see it does massive damage.) But, I can’t get the look or work on the different colors as I’m not “holding” the hidden artifact weapon while doing world quests and such. I can’t reopen the ticket as the last GM closed it permanently. I know it’s a small thing, I’m getting the effect. But I feel if I did the work collecting the volumes (not the most difficult but not that easy either) I should be entitled to the hidden appearance for my weapon. The problem now is, I don’t know what avenue I can take to try to get this resolved. I don’t want someone to hand me something I didn’t work for. I did the work. I just want to be able to show off my artifact weapon’s hidden appearance since I did the work getting it. I don’t think that’s too much to ask, nor do I feel it’s a “cheat” as I DID the work as evidenced by the fact I’m getting the hidden artifact effect. Can someone please point me in the direction to take this in order to get the appearance I worked for my weapon?

For some reason, Archivist Inkforge does not even appear in the order hall for me.

Now that the artifact knowledge has been removed and I suppose I "automatically" have level 4, is there something else I need to do?

Three relics in slots and a certain level of artifact power?

I'm not sure at what point he showed up in my order hall, but I can confirm as of 7/28/22 that at some point he WILL show up in the order hall. I am level 60, I am currently in Shadow spec, and my Light's Wrath is ilvl 20, so you shouldn't need any relics on it. If I had to venture a guess, he will either show up once you have completed the campaign/gotten the "High Priest" title, or once you hit 50.

I'm not sure if this is related but I finished unlocking my class hall research up to "armed by faith" the one that lets you equip two legion legendaries and that's when he showed up for me, had all my artifacts in my bags. 1/24/23

I had an issue where I was able to pick up the quest, collected all of the books within a few hours, and he was no longer in my class hall. I tried reloading, leaving the order hall and come back - nothing seemed to work. I went to bed, came back - still not there. As a last-ditch effort, I changed specs, ran around the class hall, completed one of my follower missions, and he was there on the bench. I don't know which one of these things made a difference but don't give up! It's Monday evening here and I didn't want to lose all my progress tomorrow :) Good luck!

I had problems finding this NPC to get the hidden artifact appearance and searching for a fix mostly just seemed to find me more people with the same issue. I did find a thread on reddit which suggested the answer was switching to disc spec and equipping Light's Wrath and then going back into Netherlight Temple. This worked for me! He was sitting there when I got back in so I could start gathering the books. :)

Edit: After collecting all the 12 books I was also able to see him to turn them all in. So perhaps this will solve that issue for some aswell.
