This mob can be found in Stratholme. You will want to defeat it immediately, else it will summon gargoyles to attack you. It has very low HP, and a simple instant-cast spell will usually kill it.

A Black, Phantom type mob in stratholme. One spell or attack is enough to kill them..but they can however be very annoying because its not always easy to spot them rite away. They usually shout 2 or 3 times before they summon 2 elite Gargoyle mobs that attack you. They work the same way as the Alarm Bots in Gnomergan.

the only trouble with these mobs is they usually aren't seen before they shout, so be on the lookout. They will shout "The living are here!" and begin a summoning spell that looks exactly like a warlock's. after about 3-5 seconds the summon will go off and 2 elite Gargoyles will spawn to attack you. I was easily able to solo this and 2 other mobs as a very not well geared 70 warrior.

I've been wondering if this npc sees undead player does he still yells "the living are here"?

Careful if you have one of these in your inventory, cause that means one of these little guys follows you around. Lots of times I'll look behind me and see my little haunt and get scared for a moment.

Funny these mobs (From a logic standpoint) are still here after Naxx left. I always thought they would spot you, yell, and two gargoyles would come down from Naxx.

I still hate the old one getting removed :(

I must say that I hate these guys with a passion. >.< As a level 80 balance druid, I decided I wanted to go back and do this instance to get the Piccolo.
I didn't have the time to run through killing everything, so I went cat form and stealthed. I had forgotten about these guys.
I'm sneaking along, and all of a sudden, "THE LIVING ARE HERE!"
Every mob in the dang instance aggroes to me. >.<

DON'T GO INTO THE OLD STRATHOLME, if you want to unlock Naxxramas' secrets.
These Mobs will also spawn in the old dungeon and they will also drop the Ward of Naxxramas BUT there won't be a portal to progress in the unlocking of Naxx.
Make sure to go into the live version by entering at the front (that's there where a small bridge is).
If you went into the old one first, you have to reset instances before entering at the entrance for the new one. Otherwise, it will send you back to the old one despite the correct entry point!

YOU NEED TO BE WEARING Argent Dawn Commission TO GET Ward of Naxxramas TO DROP
Please don't spend 3 hours trying to get the Ward to drop having the trinket just lie around in your bag, like me

Dont be as stupid as me, and go here to farm the Eye of Naxxramas for 1 hr to find out that I didnt hand in the previous quest at Light's Hope Chapel first...

To get the gate OPEN on the other side to get access to the last 2 bosses... you must kill the other bosses AND the mobs INSIDE of the Ziggurats. You cannot pre-kill any of these bosses or else the dread ward of naxx will not spawn to splash with the Stratholme Holy Water.

Hopefully this simplifies it for people like myself.
Entrance at 27.13, after you get Stratholme Holy Water & Ward of Naxxramas. There are 2 sides to Stratholme. The Crusaders Square & The Gauntlet.

1.) DON'T kill any of the bosses on the Gauntlet side. You will head to the front of the Cathedral in Crusader's Square. You CAN kill the bosses on the Crusader's Square side up to the Cathedral entrance which are Timmy the Cruel , Hearthsinger Forresten , & The Unforgiven.

2.) Stand in front of the Cathedral. Do NOT go inside and kill Commander Malor. Use your Ward of Naxxramas, Turn left and in front of that gate you will see what looks like a portal.

3.) Throw your Stratholme Holy Water on it.

4.) You then have 5 minutes to run all the way to the Gauntlet side as soon as you throw the Stratholme Holy Water. So, use any buffs or blinks, you have to go as fast as possible.

5.) When you get to the Gauntlet side, kill in this order, First Nerub'enkan , come back to Baroness Anastari , then to Maleki the Pallid. If you run from Nerub'enkan to Maleki, you will get trapped between the two gates with the plague rats and it will cost you valuable seconds. You HAVE to kill all 5 npcs inside each of the buildings behind those 3 bosses.

6.) Kill Magistrate Barthilas. You may see him running as soon as you enter the Gauntlet and you can just 1 shot him then.

7.) Clear out Slaughter's Square for Ramstein the Gorger to appear and kill him

8.) kill all of the undead that come out of the gate to the left as fast as possible

9.) Go into the building, kill the mob of 4 and kill Lord Aurius Rivendare.

10.) Run back to the gate that all the undead just came out of and it will be open, at the end of the hallway you will see the Hand of Naxxramas, Use your Argent Dawn Commission to burn it and you will be done. I had about 30 seconds left on my timer.

11.) Go to Lights Hope Chapel and talk to Archmage Angela Dosantos. You may have to /tar archmage to locate her. She could also be at Tyr's Hand. you will get the achievement Wards of the Dread Citadel

When i enter Live part of town there is just ONE of these guys in first part,he spawns in same space every time,i wonder how many are there in whole dungeon because after couple of runs i saw only 3 of them in entire dungeon,so i decide to kill and reset just the first one but so far no luck with dropping ward....

watch your chat log .... as soon as you see it say "the living are here" hit a AOE asap because the npc is right beside you and you only have a few seconds b4 it dispawns and it summons 2 gargoyles to attack you

I have no clue why the Ward of Naxxramas#comments isn't dropping from these mobs. I have done everything up to running live Strat on 2 alts, with the argent dawn commission trinket equipped on both of them and the buff active, and still it won't drop. The quest I got from Darkmaster Gandling is completed on both alts, I made sure of that. If anyone knows if this is bugged please let me know thanks!
