So PvP happened on a PvP server?
This was definitely handled poorly, but for me it's about the intent of the action. In this case the players are intentionally trying to piss off other people and harm their game experience - not to engage in world PVP combat. That's when it crosses the line from combat to griefing, the intent. They're just sitting around trolling the other faction at a portal.
if you are on Bigglesworth alliance, be sure to make the following macro:/target Arlaeus/scared
Dispelling is a part of world pvp, if you rolled on a pvp server you signed up for this kind of behavior. Just because you didn't know you were signing up for it doesn't matter. If you can't handle this behavior or ANY other form of pvp behavior then you shouldn't be on a pvp server.Arguing anything else is just a 2Head take from people who are butthurt because they got pvp'd too hard in classic and it hurt their feels.
Classic Andys.
Blizz is hyper censorship happy right now....sign of the times i guess..I've been playing this game since 04, only gotten chat banned once the whole 16 years. in the last 2 weeks i've been chat banned twice...1st amendment be damned in this game...
Can we ban streamers who whine and cry and somehow have direct access to GMs instead?
It's a private company. You have no 1st Amendment rights on a video game.
I hope the GM gets fired tbh. Anyone like that should not be in a position to ban someone on a whim without any evidence. As for Arlaeus, clearly he wanted a PvE experience but chose instead to roll on a PvP realm. I have no sympathy for him. Hopefully, he'll make better choices next time.
Arlaeus isn't sorry. He's just sorry he got caught. He also apparently gifted the GM a sub and gave him VIP status and if that isn't completely yikes I don't know what is. If he cant handle being dispelled he either needs to get off PVP servers or uninstall the damn game. That's ridiculous and not to mention embarrassing. GM should certainly be fired as well.
So just because you are a streamer, it does NOT, I repeat DOES NOT mean you are an exception. You are gonna get attacked, dispelled, and everything else PvP related, just like the rest of us. Don't like it? Then pack your bags and reroll on a PvE server. Shame on that Game Master and shame on Arlaeus for thinking he's an exception.Also.. whatever happened Blizzard saying they won't intervene in PvP disputes? Going to just add these clips since while the vods are down, clips work. With mirrors as well just in case. The entire stream he was gloating and happy about this player, and 2 others that got banned because they both had logged in from Footgodx's IP address playing from his home at one point.Arlaeus even turned the stream into sub-only made and grinned saying "Now the footgodx fanboys have to pay me money to talk crap" and continually mentioned how great it is to have them all in his stream doubling his viewer count.https://clips.twitch.tv/AmorphousRespectfulDadCclamChamphttps://clips.twitch.tv/InnocentAgitatedDaikonDBstylehttps://clips.twitch.tv/PoorKathishPheasantMingLeehttps://clips.twitch.tv/SaltyRamshackleCattleOneHand (Sanecore)https://clips.twitch.tv/FitHedonisticAlligatorBabyRagehttps://clips.twitch.tv/FantasticBlazingLouseBudBlasthttps://clips.twitch.tv/DoubtfulBigPistachioSquadGoalshttps://clips.twitch.tv/KitschyConcernedMeerkatDBstylehttps://clips.twitch.tv/ShortHelplessSpaghettiBuddhaBarhttps://clips.twitch.tv/WanderingAdorablePuddingDuDudu threatens ban for 10 PvP deaths.https://clips.twitch.tv/HyperAmorphousGarlicBrokeBackhttps://streamable.com/req9sn mirror 1https://streamable.com/92vpr7 mirror 2https://streamable.com/ng2ola mirror 3https://streamable.com/guiraz mirror 4https://streamable.com/vj4u39 mirror 5https://streamable.com/1jwmmf mirror 6https://streamable.com/zu5sqk mirror 7https://streamable.com/fe861f mirror 8https://streamable.com/ry41wt mirror 9https://streamable.com/gyw695 mirror 10 (Threatens ban for 10 PvP deaths)https://streamable.com/74x9uv Mirror 11
I’d like to point out the facts that Archimtiros and the blizzard GMs forgot to either look at or mention... A. The player Footgodx whom had been banned, has been terrain exploiting to get an advantage and hide from the players. In BRM near the Blackwing Lair portal there is a ledge that players can break their way up to. This ledge is gotten to by being feared either in a duel or by the enemy faction. Footgodx has exploited this ledge multiple times to gain a surprise on players to remove said buffs. B. You are going based off of the word of the player whom of which got banned, he can “claim” to have not targeted anyone in particular and have not been in the stream but there have in fact been messages in the platform discord threatening to Target arleaus’ guild (Desolation). And if you had been there, there was in fact multiple people running through the tunnel in the same amount of world buffs for a total of 10min from the time players had killed the priest to the time arlaeus had zoned in. On average it takes a player 4-5min to run into BRM and to the BWL Portal. Personally as a member of said guild there have been multiple occasions where I have been in a group of 6 or more people from different guilds and have been the only one targeted by Footgod. I’m sorry but it’s not very fair to defend a player who sends out mass amounts of people to farm guildies of mine just because someone threw a fit for getting a just Ban.
As someone who got banned in another game for "streamsniping" and "hacking", neither of which I actually did, this kind of garbage behavior infuriates me. There's always gotta be the few clowns in the minority that ruin it for others, in this case both the streamer and the GM in question made others in their position look awful. I don't think the GM should be fired but he should definitely be at the very least reprimanded for what he did.
Honestly if you go into a streamers stream and start hating what are you going to do sit there and groan and complain about it, or are you going to capitalize on the situation? Welcome to 2020
Dude appears in the chat a minute later, i guarantee you he was stream sniping and specifically targeting 1 guy, going out of his way to spam his target macro until he saw him appear then rez, dispel him, and doing that i feel should be a small temp ban but yeah.. its difficult to enforce.
Griefing shouldn't be banneable, is just a legit way to play a pvp game like anyone else. I don't understand why stream sniping should be banneable too. If you are voluntarily showing your screen, then only you should assume its consequences.
Abuse of power. No question.
