Calia as the new forsaken leader is just lazy and terrible writing, but Blizzard is known for their lazy and terrible writing so this is not surprising at all. Also forcing Alliance characters go neutral or horde is a long tradition in Blizzard. It's called "Let's dismantle the Alliance cause we hate them"
If she had a more revealing set of clothes what would not hide her assets I think , yes, I would have no issue seeing her as a part of the forsaken.
Horde players: "Stop acting like we're the evil faction guys!"Also Horde players: "If I didn't want to be evil, I would've rolled Alliance!"
I don't want alliance leaders any where near the horde, what did blizzard think we were going to be happy cause her last name? no way anyone is going to accept her as the new forsaken leader besides alliance players.
Calia post before the storm represents everything that was wrong about BfA characters that nobody likes and dont fit the theme of the faction they are forced upon for the Horde its Calia and for the Alliance its everyone because the Alliance isnt allowed to have gray characters and does that do have gray sides are villain batted or killed off.
Ok, I'll say what most people say all the time. It's still an Alpha, they can still fix it. They still have enough time to replace her with Lilian Voss. No harm done.Or if not Voss(ruling doesn't really fit a Rogue), then idk, Master Apothecary Faranell, some Dark Ranger or Banshee and still no harm done. It's not too late.I'm not commenting the lore at this point, but I get it that there are too too many characters and it's hard for Blizzard to keep track, I get it.
As a Horde player, I'm for it. I don't see how it's lazy writing or anything like that, either. She's the heir, she's undead, it's poetic justice considering her brother caused this whole Forsaken/undead mess and Sylvanas turns out to be batcrap crazy, and it has nothing to do with the Horde or the Alliance at this point. It has to do with Lordaeron as a location and a people separate from all that. You know what I would find refreshing? A storyline about one of the factions within the two major ones that doesn't eventually revolve around Horde or Alliance pride and loyalty for a change.(No, I'm not talking about making Forsaken a neutral, both-sides playable faction/race. I'm talking about letting one of these groups of people have a story that doesn't center around what the Alliance or Horde thinks about things, and that doesn't end with them thumping their chests and grunting "For the Alliance/For the Horde" because for some reason that's all that matters. There's a lot more that could be explored in regard to the internal politics of these allied factions than is being talked about, and I'd be interested to see where it could be taken.)
Calia can piss off back to Alliance where she belongs.
Bolvar is most likely Arthas's brother in law, something to chew on while all this is still playing out.
People seem to have a really hard time to understand that not everything is black and white, and I'm not talking about the Alliance and the Horde. The new Horde has never been evil. Looking at the mainstays of the Horde... no one would think to call the Tauren evil. Trolls have a dark history, sure, and Orcs had/still have a serious anger management issue, but neither of them thought of themselves as evil. They thought themselves as just and honorable.Only the Undead ever was (and still should be imo) overtly evil. They were never truly Horde, even. Since vanilla, they've treated their alliance with the Horde as nothing but a convenience that they've abused when ever they could. They held no true allegience to them and they've always been set on destroying the world, not just the Lich King and not just the Alliance. And honestly? That's fine! The Horde shouldn't be universally evil no more than the Alliance should be universally good. Quality of writing aside, we can have a little bit of nuance, can't we?...I am also for Calia Menethil leading the Forsaken, but not by herself. What I am hoping for is that Calia Menethil will be the face of the Forsaken, while Lillian Voss remains the true leader in the shadows. I would think the Forsaken themselves would think to abuse this political piece to their advantage, getting them in the good graces of the Alliance after the massive #$%^-show Sylvanas caused, without really changing at all. Just on the surface... and it'd certainly help the morale of the Forsaken, the people of LORDAERON, to have the true, rightful heir to the throne be on their side.
Lilian and Derek are also aiding her, this could actually work out. I’m sure the forsaken people will be mistrusting first sure as seen here . Let’s see how this plays out .
Just make a third faction that's unfriendly to everyone else. It's obvious the Horde has been slowly subverted and replaced with "the Red Alliance," and not all of us want to fight alongside huggy-feely characters like Thrall, Baine or Calia. Just imagine being a forsaken who was around for the events of vanilla — where you were a blatantly evil creature combating other evil creatures/factions — only for the Holy Princess of Retcons to replace your banshee queen and rewrite your entire story. What happened to the opportunistic anti-"heroes" who harnessed the power of a dreadlord to dupe a faction of humans into clearing out Lordaeron, then having them all killed once they stopped being useful? I want to play as those guys, not the Bony Alliance.
They ruined their lore years ago, who even cares at this point. Whatever Blizz, just release your Undead Paladins for that sweet money from boosts and race changes. Maybe consider Tauren Rogues after that.
