It was PvP > PvE only. I know because I did it. You couldn't do it the other way around.
And heeeeeeeere goes the next AQ gates opening mounts...
Is this really what's best for the health of Classic?Makes you worry about players heavily concentrating themselves like they do on Retail. Having a bunch of dead servers because everyone left for the more popular ones, would be horribly damaging to the game.
Can't wait until they let us buy gold with equivalent tokens and buy boosts EX DEE
This was in classic. Not sure why people are begging them to exclude server transfers when that was an option already in classic. The difference is that in classic you had to use the website. The change here would be to let you use the game client instead. Not sure how that spells the end of the world of Warcraft for so many drama mamas on here.
Honestly, paid transfers in Classic is one change that I could fully support. In my experience the high population servers are an absolute nightmare to play on. They are overpopulated to the point that the open world is extremely frustrating to play in. Any mobs that drop items of consequence are constantly being farmed out. Quests with finite quest mobs are simply not worth the time and frustration. The economies have been devastated to the point that nothing has any value. There is nothing about that experience that is anything like the Vanilla experience that I had. For me personally, there is nothing enjoyable about high population servers. From an RP stand point its incredibly disruptive seeing so many players in the desolate areas of the world. Nobody could have predicted how unfavorable each of these circumstances could actually turn out to be. It was and is hard to know exactly how a server population is going to turn out. How many of the people playing early on were actually going to stick around for a long time? What if you created a character on a low population server and a few months later it ends up being dead? How many people could have predicted how absurd world PvP would turn out to be on the PvP servers? There must be countless people who have leveled to 50 or 60 only to find themselves on a server that they utterly despise. Faction imbalance is another massive issue that could be solved on a personal level for a player by choosing to transfer elsewhere. Choosing where to invest your time will have a drastic effect on what your in-game experience will be like. I can't help but feel for the people who don't have a lot of play time that have ended up on a server that they find no enjoyment on. There's probably a lot of people that would sooner quit than re-roll. If they have the opportunity to pay for a transfer to keep playing I personally see that as a good thing. Its unlikely that I would ever use a paid transfer, but I do think it could be a good thing for Classic WoW.
I don't recall this, or maybe it was just never advertised anywhere? A hidden feature I guess you'll call it - because I would of surely left my server back in the burning crusade to go elsewhere to raid - somewhere where more than 1 guild on the server could clear black temple. Not surprised this is a thing though, actually existing or not.
Wonderful. Now people will transfer off of already lower populated servers to a place like Faerlina/Whitemane and increase their queue times even more.
I'm actually positive to payed realm transfers even that I were against it in the beginning. As long as they implement regulations minimizing the risk of abuse. I can imagine it's very hard to face the fact not being able to play with new or old found friends if they happen to play on another realm. Probably it's a big dealbraker for alot of people wheter to quit or continue their classic journey since you got so much time invested in your character that making a new one isn't even an option.
