Siege of Orgrimmar 2, Electric Boogaloo
"Not long ago, Alliance and Horde fought together to liberate Suramar from the Legion."Yeah. They did. *elbows her good and hard*
I can't believe the characters in this expansion actually grew a brain and it only took an entire year to do so. *Poof*
Blizzard trying to spin that this big Horde and Alliance united against a common enemy after being at each other's throats has been done in almost every expac.>_>
Difference being Jaina regrets it else why would Lorthermar give her the time of day.
The way I see it the abolishment of factions will come about as a side effect of a resurgence of the Black empire. We will get a Cataclysm style revamp of the old world and all content that takes place in the previous expacs will be in the nebulous "Its all in the past." It streamlines the new setting for 9.0 and establishes a world where the factions don't matter in the face of the Black Empire.
As long as I can join the Black Empire I'll be happy.

I said it time and time again, and it still rings true. The factions abolished will likely become World of Anduincraft. Cause they cannot build character, they're likely to go this route and we will see the ever-more-power-creep only witnessed in anime. Our "War against greater evils" should also be abolished, one by one, and the join the Alliance to fight the next bigger super duper mega bad that comes the next expansion. Then have them join us for the next one that comes up."But we stand united against-" is the laziest excuse for "war" in this game. Last three patches, thwarted, repeat.
factionless can work. It is a remnant of the original game that doesn't make sense any longer. My orc has been talking to those human bankers in dalaran since wrath. in-game, opposite faction players can't understand each other, but the npcs can talk to us and the npcs can talk to each other without issue.PVP can work the same as it does now, except that you can visually play as either faction. Right now, if one faction is unbalanced, players can flip via the mercenary mechanic to play BGs as the other faction. What if you were simply on a team (flags over your head like arena) mixed up across all players. You could always have balance. World PVP could suffer as everyone trying to kill you, i.e. 1 v everyone. This is the concept of any battle royale game. Build community by making parties to support each other (i.e. squads). Factionless would allow your parties to contain both horde and alliance players. The biggest issue could be old quests. But then again, we're also likely looking at a level squish coming with 9.0. Lore wise, the game is going to be a mess. We'll have players running vanilla up to 15, then jumping the ship to Pandaria to 30, flying in Argus at 45, then catching the zep to Northren in order to reach 60. Clones of Zidormi could be everywhere helping players pick which version of Crossroads/Teldrassil they want to see.
Another Horde leader turned into a worthless Alliance sycophant.I don't like Sylvanas, but I'd take her over the pathetic shadow the rest of the Horde has become. Even though I know she'll lose in the end.Azshara fell to a group of shipwrecked murderhobos in rags. She fell because she was weak. not because of unity. She just wasn't that powerful a threat and she's a poor reason for Lor'thewho and the rest of the rebels to join the Alliance.Hopefully one day we'll get to kill Lor'themar and get his sword. That's the only thing of value about him now.
So Lorthemar is also a traitor. That's sad, he had my vote for warchief after mist, and was hoping he would be name warchief if sylvanas were to die
We better be able to side with Sylvanas after all of this...
So... once again... we find that we'll win the day if we join forces...
