Great writing Blizzard. Truly marvelous. ''Here, look at these Zandalari Prelates. Oooh, whoops, their power-giving Loa died, such a shame ;)''
I´m probably in the minority with this but I never identified Paladins with the Alliance or Shamans with the Horde. The faction exclusivity of these two classes was taken away in all the way back in BC and rightfully so, because it just makes one side always stronger then the other side. To me, gameplay should never be the reason to choose between Alliance or Horde, it should be about the look an feel of the races (still a problem to this day because of racials but hey, at least we got all classes on both sides). I don´t buy that "Blizz wants to make both sides unique again" thing to be honest, I mean, they just added two new races that basically made Nightelves playable for Horde and Bloodelves playable for Alliance. Don´t thing that matches well with making the factions more unique. Not having Zandalari Paladins is sad, because there lore is unique and there look is different enough to make them feel not like the Alliance Paladins, unlike Bloodelves, who are basically pretty humans. I hope Blizz thinks about it and adds them. The missing classes of the Dark Iron Dwarves are even weirder to be honest. Shamans would be awesome, since they got quite the unique lore connection with elementals, with all that Ragnaros stuff but missing Priests? What? There racial leader is literally a priest, you even have a DI Dwarf that helps you to obtain Xal´atath in the Shadow Priest artefact quest. But they can be Paladins...and Deathknights. Thats so weird to me, I´m nearly inclined to believe that we don´t know all the classes of Zandalari and DID yet, but thats just hopeful thinking, because it´s just alpha and nothing official yet. If not...then Blizz might just be lazy, I mean...Zandalari Paladins require new mounts since they can´t use existing paladinmounts like LF Draenei for example. Shamans require new totems. Well...I will definitely talk about this when its time for Alpha/Beta feedback. I just hope they change there mind when they see how much the players want these race/class combos. Neither side should get shafted with allied Races. (Alliance needs some more druids btw)
I'll leave my two cents here:- Zandalari Paladins are a thing. They have been in game for years. Not giving players the possibility to play as them is silly, cheap, and lazy on Blizzard's part.- Dark Iron Dwarf priests should DEFINITELY be a thing, their racial leader is literally a priest.- Dark Iron Dwarf should be shaman too, there are Dark Iron shamans in-game as well.- I'm okay with Dark Iron death knights, though there might be some trouble introducing them as "heroes of the Alliance" since they weren't an active part of the Alliance back then.- I still don't get why Lightforged Draenei can't be shaman, since they're essentially draenei infused with light. It seems weird they would close their connections to the elements in favor of the Light.- Highmountain Tauren are literally just tauren with moose antlers. There is nothing unique about them. Making them druids hardly counts as giving the Horde more druids.- The same can be said for Dark Iron and Lightforged as Paladins though. They're not unique enough.- Zandalari technically could be death knights... but I'd rather they added Drakkari as playable for that.- Zandalari druids make sense because of dinomancers.- Orcs can be druids, but they're unlikely to choose the path.- Blood elves can be druids, but they're unlikely to choose the path.- Night Elves will probably get Paladins in the near future, since there are two already in the Order of the Silver Hand. The burning of Teldrassil would be a perfect excuse to make them choose a more aggressive stance as warriors of Elune.- Kul tiran humans could be druids if they are anything like the Gilnean humans, and from what we know they might as well have harvest witches in their ranks since they were really close to Gilneas in terms of culture (I think Kul tiras was founded by Gilneans as well long ago IIRC). They would just need an extra push like the worgen got from the night elves to become full-fledged shapeshifting druids. That would give Alliance a new druid.- The Alliance could get Night Elven Worgen. Boom, another Alliance druid.- The Alliance could get Broken Draenei. Boom, another shaman. These are perfect examples of ways they could even the class-race combinations for both factions without straying from current established lore. But I really doubt they care enough to make this happen in Battle for Azeroth. Maybe they will down the line, maybe two or three expansions from now.
Lightforged Draenei don't make any sense as Shamans. Why would someone willingly go through the grueling process to have their body infused with the light, only to then choose to ignore it in favor of using the Elements?I mean sure, Blizzard could write into the story some grand debacle about why that could make sense. I'm just not sure why they should be required to do these things just to cater to every needy and annoyingly picky fan out there. I seriously can't understand why people are behaving this volatile over the Allied races. Expand your horizons, create another character beyond your main, or don't and just stay angry. Allied races are a brand new concept, show some patience and allow it to get some traction before you boldly claim that Blizzard doesn't care about you. For god sakes - the Zandalari aren't even in the game yet!
I love complaints. Complaints are funny , "Q,Q Horde favoritism" . "QQ 4 druids on horde side" .I will abstain myself from commenting anything related to class/race combo.I do not play Paladin so it doesnt hurt me in any way.I do not play Shaman so it does not hurt me in any way.By playing them I mean maining or giving them any kind of importance.Because I do have capped Paladin and Shaman.I love my troll druid so I dont care if they add more druid races.I see posts with people digging their own grave. I mean , really ,dude? It is not your job to care if alliance have more of X or less of Y if you are satisfied. What I find the most amusing is that people complain and draw conclusions based on an alpha that didnt even finish adding all the quests or even texture terain."waaaaaaa Horde favoritism" oh , man , feels so good seeing alliance players cry after so much bashing in-game , I feed on their tears.Cry some more because I am thirsty. All this crying feels like justice.Oh , did I mention I have capped characters on both sides? So many alliance players bashing horde players , majority dont even know why they just bash because others do it.So much Anduin fanaticism .Fans acting exactly like teenage girls when Justin Bieber and it is disgusting.
Well that's a copout and a half. Nothing less than expected, GG Blizz
I will perform any grind required to be a troll Paladin. Please blizzard.Don't deny us this.
We will end up with Zandalari paladins, the method just remains to be seen. We will either end up restoring Rezan, or he will be replaced.
I actually think this is a new direction they’re taking, at least in regards to a few class/race combinations: story-based. The Zandalari have to go through this “loss of loa” storyline to embrace the Light, just as the Dark Iron will probably have to come to terms with their “enslavement by Ragnaros” before they can become shamans. Likewise, maybe the loss of Teldrassil will make zealots out of the night elves and along comes Delas Moonfang to teach her people the ways of the holy warrior, and maybe the Kul Tirans will rekindle their bond with their Gilnean neighbors, then learn to draw power from nature in ways their Stormwind allies never could. All these things, while interesting, make more sense if they were the end result of a narratively-satisfying quest chain or scenario
Forsaken should not be priests either but trolls as Wreckadins should not be a thing, glad they aren't happening.
Only reason I believe Zandalari paladins are not available is because of the outcry it would cause from the Alliance. There are already many many many forum posts about people upset at how much effort and love is being put in Zandalari. Because for some reason hard work into a race wanted for so long is something bad. Get over yourselves the Zandalari empire was and will be one of the greatest ever!
