Would be nice if they just fixed the issues pets have, with pathing (Arrows and bullets do not need to "path" so why does apet?), randomly stops fighting and when using assist it not switching targets when you do.
All the haters can just zip it! /quote]No, that is not how a public forum works. You see, we all get to voice our opinions. Nobody elected you as god or even moderator. This change will force people to give up using pets that they have become very happy with. Just because YOU think we should all be limited has nothing to do with ME. If you want to play a pet only in a certin spec, fine, play that way. Nobody is forcing you to play a mechanical as a tank. But, there is no reason to force other people to play that way. We all pay for our subsriptions. Your $15 is not worth more than mine.
In one way, this does remove player uniqueness and variety, and removes choice from the hunter. If reverting back to this, it could also mean every single hunter having the exact same pets, like back in Wrath. Every BM had a devilsaur for DPS, and nothing else. We had three hunters, and they all had the same things. It can get boring to look at, for sure.In another way, I always thought it was kind of silly that my small bird pets could do the same damage as my huge devilsaurs. In yet another way, different pets have different abilities that I never see any hunter use, unless it's the core hound for Blood Lust or Heroism, or the quilen for B-rezzing. All other pet abilities are widely ignored, and hunters don't have to know how to use their pet's utility in any way. Maybe they should. Hunters are already way too simple to play (BM is, anyway).Maybe they want to make hunters more interactive by allowing them to know their class better than they do. To pick a pet that will help the raid instead of which one makes them feel specially-wecially. They probably have yet to come up with an idea that's the best of both worlds.
Damn, where are all classic news?
Since Sporebats are classified as Cunning, does that mean that they are no longer the best pet for the DPS? I need to know because I am leet, and I want the best pet for the DPS. Please tell me. Thank you.
So are all pets doing the same DPS now? It looks like it from the spell damage listed for the attacks (Bite, Claw & Smack) what about the pets auto-attacks? If the damage output for each pet is identical and therefore which pet you choose would have no impact on your DPS output as a player, the change isn't that bad from a game mechanics POV.But I'm still not happy that we're not going to be able to choose which spec our pet is. I understand they don't want a pet that has both hero and battle rez, but just tie those abilities to the spec and not the pet. Battle rez to tenacity, Hero to ferocity & cunning could get an escape trinket or raid wide speed boost or something utility like. This way, we can still choose what we bring for what role for appearances and still have the abilities/utility our raid needs./my 2 copper
All I can say is I really, really hope they haven't settled on tenacity for spirit beasts. Surely, if not ferocity, then cunning makes so much more sense.
Master's Call - Your pet removes all root and movement impairing effects from itself and its target, and grants immunity to all such effects for 4 sec.I love you blizzard, finally I can play Hunter again.
I mostly only do solo PVE so I will very sad if this make it live because I hated this mechanic in my former mmo, and I loved that in WoW I can use wathever pet I wanted.I was leveling another hunter alt but I'm going to let her on hold for now.
Please don't revert back to this. Pets for Hunters are like transmog at this point. I like being able to be free to choose a pet for its looks & ability. If they change this I won't be able to use my wolf, which goes perfectly with my mog, as a questing tank pet. This is subject to change. Cool. Hopefully moaning about makes it so they don't go through with it. Because it truly would be a step backwards. Just like it was an awful idea removing traps from BM; which they thankfully reverted soon after. As for moving away homogenization. Not going to happen. There is always going to be a best build that everyone uses. This only removes cosmetic options. It changes nothing beyond that. Less options is bad.
