Dumb. They need to have class specific gear. They can easily make them themed around the current raid tier as well but they're choosing not to.When you think tier gear couldn't get any worse since the last two expansions it did.Reconsider.
I might be wrong here, but what i got from all this is that all armor sets will have their visual quality upped to that of raid sets(think world quest and leveling items), and each zone will have its own set for each armor type, 2 continents * 3 zones = 6 sets per armor type. If dungeons and raids are also considered zones in this context, the total number goes drastically up, if they arent, we can still at least expect recolors for various difficulties, and the unique mythic variants. Overall, this sounds like a lot more options than what we have now.
well blizzard is giving up on tiers, now they just do 4 of a kind for each raid
Nope, those are only usable for that specific Allied race, and only if they level all the way to max without boosting.
I personally don't like that class sets are being retired but i'll wait until the new raid armors are datamined to comment. If we get ToV quality armors (or even turalyon's :P) per raid I'll be okay with it. And don't forget that this is something they are trying for the first time after 22 tiers, if it doesn't work okay or the community doesn't like it they will probably change it for next expansion.
Uh i cant bring myself to belive this will work. Just cant imagine e.g. leather armor which would suit DH, Druids, Rogue and Monks at same time unless its some bland generic leather vest which is just bad at this point.Honestly i think this is just laziness as we all know how Trial of Crusader armor sets were successfull you cant go a day without seeing someone transmoged in those. (End of sarcasm)
Blizzard, if there's one thing I want you guys to do, it's race-themed sets. So, HD sets that tells you're a Night-elf Sentinel, a Forsaken Apothecary, a Human arcanist, etc.I DO NOT want to look like a guy wearing some sh!t he found in a Troll-themed Titan facility. We've had ENOUGH of that, actually. So yeah, maybe we did not got out of the Emerald Nightmare with red tentacles in our butts, but look at the Firelands. Look at Icecrown Citadel. And these are the first examples that came to mind. Yeah, the sets are cool, but long-term, not what the game needs in terms of sets (well, except for death-knight who got out of Icecrown Citadel with their most known set ever).I was actually FAR MORE into the T19 set for Hunter because the PvP one was Blood-elf-themed or Vereesa-themed, and the mythic one was Sylvanas-themed. The T19 for Paladins worked for someone who wants to say he's with the Argent Crusade. The Mage set worked for a Blood-elf mage.We need more of "I'm wearing what looks like my race/faction/class" and less of "I'm wearing stuff my enemy was wearing in a raid".
I sorta balked at this on first reading it but actually it makes a lot of sense. I've always thought it a bit weird "oh this boss just happens to keep loot that specifically looks like a death knight set (or whatever) but you just get on with it cos it's new and shiny and looks cool. But the ones that have been themed as per zone fantasy have made sense (like a lot of the M.O.P stuff, despite me not loving that expansion, or much of the Firelands gear). I'm looking forward to see what they do with this. It makes sense and opens up some interesting options.
I like what they're aiming for, which makes sense. If this saves time in a particular area, to use that time by adding to/a neat set somewhere else, then let the art team go all out. And why waste time making raid sets look nice, spreading artwork thin across classes, only to have a small percentage of players who are interested in wearing them? With their current plans, they can beef up future raid sets and design for a certain zone, while adding depth to other outlets in regards to artwork and detail.
Im just saying itd be pretty dumb if my rogue ends up wearing a kilt....or a plate warrior wearing glowy yellow armor. How much you wanna bet you can tell you won;t like the new stuff because they'll all just use old class specific teir anyways.
I understand the logic behind "You complain about tier sets not being good enough, but you're asking us to make 12 different ones every 6 months". Because let's be fair, it's true. Everytime we have a tier X appearance reveal, the comments range from "It looks good" to "It looks like !@#$ blizzard designers should kill themselves".But if YOU had to design a specific class set every X months ... It would definitely happen that sometimes you just don't have the inspiration, and make a &*!@ty tier set. Not because you're a bad artist, but because that's not how inspiration works. It's not on command. That being said ... I do think that decision is really strange, and although objectively, it might turn out great, I really don't think it will. Their biggest argument is "Look, if we design a paladin set around old gods, or a mage set about fel, it's not gonna work.". And I agree. But the problem is ... Even if you don't design a PALADIN set around old gods, you're still designing an old god plate set that paladins will have to wear. It doesn't make more or less sense. And I personnally don't think looting a tier set that isn't linked to the theme of the raid is a problem. We already accept on a daily basis that we can loot plate robes on a Nightmare dragon, leather shoulderpads on Yl'ginoth, and rings that fit our ring size on Kil'jaeden, who's easily four times our size. RPG Loot doesn't have to make sense.Already looking forward to the "Kul'Tiran sets" that look good only on humans. And horde shaman players, who will feel shafted because T21 is set around trolls, Zandalari gear as well, and oh, look, the first raid tier of BFA is also gonna be around trolls because it's uldir lol qq.
Ok, so.. we just need more raids in this expansion and its will be ok :PRaid with Demons, for Warlock and Demon HunterRaid with Beast, for Hunter and DruidRaid with Light... and shadow, for Paladin and PriestRaid with Fire, Frost, and.... an illusion what are you hiding?, for MageRaid with hmmmmm Pirates ? for Rogue... hmmmm, maybe here we got something.Raid with Death and Zombie, for Death Knight and Necromancer (>_>)Raid with Vrykul, for Warrior...Raid with Voodoo Trolls and.... wait a minute... so shamans 1st ? Raid on Pandaria - for monk
Ya mon! Give me that troll transmog, the amani sets just aren't enough anymore!
Tbh i don't expect tooo much, they Always promisse alot of things then cut by the half, the fly for exemple its lazyness put pathfinder to being able to fly in 3 patchs
