The void elf has a 2.3 sec cast time
Honestly, all I want is the ability to play as a vrykul.
I have a theory that shaman will be given to Dark Iron making paladin Alliance exclusive and druid Horde exclusive (one class exclusive to each faction instead of one:two). If we are arguing that the new races are taught monk by the existing Alliance/Horde that are monks maybe other classes can be brought/worked in? Pity knows we did it in BC and Cata. People dealt with it... more or less....Here is to hoping Blizz is just releasing headline worthy info for BlizzCon with room for big additions, maybe even changes, so that more balance will be made with new allied race:class options. With the new focus being Alliance vs Horde it could feel really disappointing to not have any option to enjoy the new races on your faction as your class. After all, just the comments show that folks are really disappointed that playing alliance and playing druid means you don't get any new options. Horde has similar posts for paladin. (I still have hope for an Alliance allied race shaman.)Personally I would rather see a way for anyone to have the option to play their main faction and main class as a new race than stick too strictly to lore. I'm not saying ignore lore, just that lore is for building fantasy not blindly restricting it.
I hope they are account unlocks, because the only way I'll level ANOTHER alt is to play in a new server...
Something that I noticed few if anyone thought about. Are these going to be locked per person? Or would they do another server wide event like the aq gates? I would like to see the allied races not tied to any factions, and the players of each server fight to earn the races against three other faction.Imo, that would be a brilliant move for 7.x the last major patch before Roth. It would be a big encouragement for players to subscribe and work together. It would bring a significant lull in the content drought between antorous and 8.0. And it would make players feel like they had a significant impact on the world.
Clearly we need to add the Vulpine and Tortollan as neutral playable races that can be druids/paladins/shaman to address this race/class combo inequality.
So, wondering if I’m exalted with all factions on one account, can I unlock the new races on a second account? I have no desire to go back and replay Legion just to earn rep again.
Can't wait to play Nightborne and say "An illusion! What are you hiding?" all the time.
In Vanilla, Wow had Paladins in Alliance ONLY and Shamans in Horde ONLY. Druids used to be Night Elf ONLY and Tauren ONLY. Things have changed greatly since then, but it looks like there is a bit of a nod to that time if that is what is on the horizon. We shall have to see what comes out in beta.
Hoping Dark Irons get shamans. It would make sense.
Barriers should be removed entirely for race/class combos. Playing a Horde Belf Paladin we see Nightelf follower becoming a Paladin as one of our followers. New Race Summary: Looking at "elemental" tags to each race we can deduce the following Void (shadow) elves Lightforged (holy) DraeneiHighmountain (nature) Nightborne (Arcane) At minimum the following classes should not be restricted at all due to a lack of core elemental rootsWarrior, Rogue, Hunter, DK (yes is more shadow related Lore rules show that anyone can be made into one)Blizzard consistently makes exceptions to its own lore and since every players character is an anomaly to the Structure of WoW Lore that canon characters rarely but frequently enough break; OUR characters who are integrated into lore but not directly affecting it should not be bound at all.The greatest joy we can have as players is playing who we want filling the role of what we want. Each of our characters can be that exception because it wont impact the integrity of out of ordinary circumstance were Nelf Priest becomes a Paladin follower , etc.
Every race can also be a warrior. Warrior love as well!
