After all those years of saying no, they finally cave to what a large part of the community wants.
I've always wanted to play the vanilla/classic and now I wonder if we could play-- like, Paladin Tauren or Dwarves Shaman on Classic, remember that these changes came in Cataclysm!
I never expected that it might be possible to enjoy Vanilla again.I loved my bunch of keys, my bags full of candles, and hours of searching to complete my quests. <3
Account wide please! I need my Argent dawn tabard
I like chocolate more than vanilla :(
This really needs to be successful, not that I care about Vanilla, but I really would love to see this expanded to Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King.
I have never experienced Vanilla. I will finally have the option to do that. :D
i really REALLY hope account-wide stuff works because it would be rad as HECK to be able to obtain and use stuff that's no longer obtainable in live like appearances and mounts.
I really hope they add different expansion servers like wrath servers or tbc servers. I'd love to replay some of the raids from previous expansions at the appropriate gear/level.
I'm all for classic servers implementing certain QoL changes that we've seen over the past 13 years, as long as they don't impact the game itself. Things like dismounting as soon as you touch any water (even a puddle on the road), or having to use multiple flight paths to get to say EPL instead of chaining them. Even something like altering Paladins so they have more of a purpose than just sitting in a corner waiting to res people after a wipe are fine in my eyes (though it should be the case where Pallies are alliance only). Hopefully though the classic servers are separate from our main accounts in terms of titles, mounts, toys, pets and achievements. Any in-game items that no longer exist in current WoW should certainly make it back to classic servers, but only exist on those and not current ones (eg: If you get the ZG tiger you can use it on classic servers but not your "main" server).
I can't wait for this!
I truly don't get the appeal of playing old games years later. It's never the same experience even when they are exactly the same. To much time has past, your different as a person, been there done that. I'm all about progress in the gaming community and WoW has progressed beautifully I believe and that's why it's still one of the most played MMO's. I just think the people who really want this are not going to enjoy it as much as they think. With that said I'm glad it's finally going to be available for whoever wants to give it a shot. Let's be honest though, even if it's exactly the same you are all going to have something to #$%^& about. The WoW community never fails in that regard. Good luck Blizzard, I think ultimately your wasting your time since the 100 or so people I know that played Classic WoW said they would never go back.
I didn't start playing until very late cata. I'm very interested in knowing what it was like back when the game first came out. I know it'll probably be a very long time though.
Can't wait for vanilla servers!
definitly gonna give it a try but i prefer current wow
Does anyone remember that each patch actually fixed a class? There was some classes who were so broken that they weren't viable for months.
People see the past with nostalgia and generally over appreciate the good things and forget about the bad things. I really think a lot (not all, just a lot) of people don't realise just how much of a slog levelling was in vanilla (and there are lots of complaints about levelling taking too long now which I find unbelieveable). Also, rule changes, - there is no way i would want to go back to carrying bags full of ammo. Multiple specs were really bad. balancing was terrible and hopefully all those horde paladin/alliance shaman players won't mind not being able to do so.if they do Classic servers they have to do it exactly as it was.
