Wow, that was an amazing story before sleep. I do hope that Alleria will not succumb to the power of the void.
I love it when Blizz creates extra bits of lore for us to see and hear outside of the game. The voice acting is fantastic just like the Tomb of Sargeras audio. I hope they continue to create stuff like this, also hoping for more novels.
i love it when blizzard gives us more lore to chew on, and this one was very insightful also cleared up some things for me!
Let me win
This story was amazing, insightful, and leaves me wanting to learn more about the Void. I thought it was great seeing the Light from the Shadow's viewpoint. I was shocked when Illidan destroyed Xe'ra, but after hearing about her unwavering stubbornness, I'm thinking Illidan did us all a favor. She thought she had the right way of doing things even though she did not have the complete picture. Well done voice actors and Blizzard! It surprised me that the Light wasn't the complete all-powerful force I thought it was. It is only one part of cosmic power that the Shadow compliments in an opposite kind of way. That's what makes both the Light and Shadow flawed individually and seemingly necessary to keep both in balance. I think we'll see Alleria's power and mastery of the Void increase and be of help in the next expansion. I don't think we'll see her become fully corrupted and a pawn of the Old Gods, rather she'll either help us counter some of their power or end up sacrificing herself to send them back to the Void.
What surprised you the most about this story? I've not finished playing through the live story-line on Argus, so the friendship and trust between Alleria and Lothraxion and Turalyon was amazing to see. I was surprised that it was Lothraxion that first told Alleria of the Locus-Walker and gave her the idea that the Void/Shadow could be used without loosing one's self to it completely. What do you think will happen to Alleria and her Shadow power in future expansions? I think that Alleria is going to teach hunters to wield the void and Sylvanas and Vereesa will join her and the Dark Rangers and the Farstriders will welcome their new Shadow Hunter brothers and sisters and we will be forever know as the most awesome class in Warcraft History. (... sorry my ((Blood Elf & Troll & Human & Orc & Dwarf & Gnome)) Hunter Characters want this soooo bad ...)But seriously, I think Alleria will hopefully be able to teach a limited few of all classes to wield the Void without falling to madness. I mean priests already do ... don't they. Maybe all classes will learn 1 or 2 void spells, not a whole other spec. I mean I don't want to see everyone running around covered in purple shadow. But then again maybe she will teach people to be Shadow Walkers (like the Locus-Walker) and that will be a new Hero Class.Do you agree that both the Light and Shadow are flawed?Yes. YES. YES! Both are flawed, they are two sides to the same coin and must be used in balance. They both have some truth to them and both see only themselves as right.
The audio drama was fantastic! I loved finally learning what happened to Alleria and Turalyon after the destruction of Draenor. I also like the background we got on Lothraxion and Locus-Walker. So well done. Can't wait to see where this all leads.
I greatly appreciate these audio dramas they make car rights quite a delight. I additionally really like that blizz does a great job of illustrating the dark vs light concept in the books they talk about light and dark in an eternal battle. This audio drama really adds to the cant have one without the other and neither are "perfect".
I loved the audio drama. I really like how blizzard is making these. First the Tomb of Sargeras and now this one. I hope they keep making these in the future.-Pick me for the giveaway. 😉
Incredible posters. Alleria & Turalyon have long been one of the most interesting characters in WoW lore, in my opinion. Glad to be able to listen to more lore of them.
First of all, the audio drama was amazing! I really liked how it connected the events of Dreanor's destruction with modern day. Also, I really like how they turned the Light and the Void into forces that simply, are doing what they are doing for their own reasons. I mean, just have a look at Alleria's visions about how the Light would enslave life to use it against the darkness and so forth. All in all, it was another epic addition to WoW's lore. Keep it up guys! :D
Im loving these audio dramas, its like listening to one of the wonderful books from the Warcraft universe and keeps you interested and drawn in, wanting more! I really hope they'll do more of these in the future, books are great but hearing the words spoken makes it so easy to close your eyes and really fall into the story.
Shadowmagic as something, that's dark and forbidden is not new. You always get that feeling in the game and as a Shadowpriest. But it's very interesting to experience it in that way from a different angle. Just as interesting as the confrontation between Illidan an X'era. Till now I always saw the Light as the ultimate Good in WOW and I like that recent developments. Can't wait to see more of that.
I really enjoyed this. I hope to see more.
Audio drama was really good. They did really good work with ambient sounds and music. Well, they used mostly pieces of WoW soundtrack, but I think there were several originals, especially in part 2. It's also good way to expand lore. It somehow slipped my mind during questing in Argus that Alleria had been already infused with the void when 3rd part of Argus campaign unlocked.
I wish these were up sooner, it explained so much about the characters that I had no backstory on (not being around for BC). Especially Lothraxion, who I was seriously confused who he was and where he came from. Good stuff, very entertaining as always!
I absolutley love the aurdio drama. The narrator and music bring emotions and excitement into the story, the characters' voices also help paint a true realistic story in my mind. I Love reading and listening to it at the same time, pausing to comprehend what is going on and the implications of these moments in the story. I can not wait for more audio dramas from blizzard. I can not wait for the next patch to start the next part of Alleria's story with her now fully embracing the Void and Turalyon on how he will cope or react with Xera being gone.
I haven't listened to the audios, but reading the PDFs, very great reads. Can't wait to see how much more Alleria action gets to be ingame now. After many years of wondering where they have been, we found em! yay! :D
While I like the idea of these kinds of lore-drenched stories, they tend to disappoint. We didn't want character X to die, character Y's story was more ordinary than we had imagined, and why didn't Characters A and B get together? And even if none of that happens, all we have to do is wait 2-10 years and the lore will be changed. Again. It's the reason I stopped reading comic books, it's why I don't watch TV shows based on book series I really like, and it's why I don't read novels based on my favourite movies.
I thought the entire production was incredible, from the voice acting to the use of music and sound effects, it was a real treat to listen to. The lore implications especially were exciting for me as a wow lore nerd. I can’t wait to see where thealleria/locus walker and alleria/turalyon storylines go in the next expansion!
