Thanks for the update. Good luck stopping them!
Curious as to why it's only impacting some links. My guildies had posted about this so I decided to do some research. The ONLY item, i have been able to replicate the error on is Calamity's Edge. I searched for several items from the same HFC Tier, and none of them had the redirect, nor did any current items from EN or Nighthold.
There is another method to fix this.... its called typing in...... WWW.wowhead.com in the little site bar instead of using a search engine LOL

I know this sort of thing is really disheartening, but you guys really are the best the WoW community in general has to offer. Don't give these guys another thought after this has been cleared up, and keep up the good work!
So many anit-hacking "experts" having their opinions here. Just read the simple definition of "hack", "hacking", "hacked" before start posting your mighty walls of texts as useful info. You guys are not helping with these comments but actually other way around.
As a firefox user I'm in the minority but for those that also use it you can add wowhead as a search engine and search directly from the browser's search box without having to first load wowhead. You type in the search as normal but click the wowhead favicon instead of hitting enter/clciking the magnifying glass. Also bing still offers wowhead results if you absolutely must continue to use a search engine instead of searching wowhead directly.
I'd definitely recommend coming straight here and then doing the search. (Hell, wowhead stays open on my other screen pretty much the whole time I am in game.) lolOnly time I hit google is if the wowhead search results just aren't understanding the words I'm trying to get across. Did you mean... Thunderfury, Blessed Blade *SCREAM STAB* lolSeriously though, usually it is part of a quest that the comments has the answers. But the community does a great job of cross-linking quest items to quests where it may be obscure.Hope it works out for the team. Cybersquatters *spit*-WizPS - If you don't subscribe to Wowhead, you should. It is beyond worth it. So many valuable features. I must mouseover EVERYTHING.
Every time I log on to wow, I always load wowhead up and have it ready, and now due to this warning I will make sure I stay on WOWHEAD.
This ^&*! has totally backfired on that guy and turned into some crazy wowhead-pride day, it's hilariousSEARCH HIJACKING OF 3/2 WE WILL NEVER FORGET
I go directly to wowhead.com and this is the first I have heard of this issue. I also pay the membership fee because the ads were really driving me nuts, but it is worth it. It is a minimal amount of money for as much as I use this site and find it invaluable for playing the game. Just my 2 cents.
Sas148,I'm sorry to hear this is happening. I've been a long time user and paying supporter of wowhead, and will support you folks in what ever way I can. Your sites are a tremendous resource, and appreciate you folks.
It's a repeated recommendation on my part but I suggest a full implementation of HTTPS. Not only does it increase the overall security of the website but increases the search ranking (which makes it related to this issue). Search engines are less likely to regard WoW Eden and similar alternative versions as more important than (the HTTPS version of) Wowhead itself.
