QUESTION: i know challenge mode ARMOR works, but what about weapons? if so, would it be wise for me to roll a warrior, and go get CM gold for almost all the weapon transmog?
several years many peopel ask for tabards place. why they dont want to make 1 more tab for tabards?
Is it Account wide though?
Thank you for the coverage! Transmogging is my main interest, and it's so rarely covered :) The UI looks absolutely amazing, can't wait to play around with this! Please do keep covering transmogging! <3
Eurgh, I don't like those quest rules. I was hoping it would be what they said at Blizzcon; if you've done a quest, you unlock the appearances of all those rewards from that quest. At least for the initial pre-Legion quests, that'd be far preferable to just unlocking appearances you can only get for your specs. So many pre-Cata quests can't be done anymore so it'd suck to have done them on a clothie who will only get 1/4 of the appearance unlocks compared to a plate wearer.
These unlock limitations are absolutely awful. It hardly feels like an account wide system, it's more like class wide or type-wide. Does nothing to solve issues of wrong-class drops or the feeling of worthless vendor drops. Farm Achimonde for a year for Cataclysm's Edge, go once on Mage and now it's a vendor trash, no mog unlock. At BlizzCon they said "If it's soulbound, it unlocks" Period. Cloth drops for warrior? Still soulbound -> Unlocked. Plate drops for Mage? Still soulbound -> Unlocked. They need to realise this is how an account wide system should work.Edit: I was able to find the actual BlizzCon panel transscript, the quote was: "As soon as an item is bound to you, the appearance is automatically unlocked in your collection"There's also the unobtainability issue, for cross class/type items of old that you have on other characters. Got a Defias set on your Warrior from vanilla Deadmines? Nope, you don't get to mog it on your Rogue. Got a bunch of removed vanilla quests finished on your Mage? Well you aren't getting those now unobtainable weapon rewards to mog on your Hunter. No one's asking for actually mogging restrictions gone. Obviously a Mage can't mog plate. The unlocking restrictions need to go. It completely deflated all my hype for the Transmog Revamp, my most hyped Legion feature. Seems I'm not alone considering that colossal tweet chain replying to the original announcement shown in the guide above. All these restrictions are entirely needless and add NOTHING but frustration to the system. Nothing positive is gained at all. Just another example of WoW getting similar systems other games already have, except unlike those games, WoW's is covered in 40 different asterisks listing off arbitrary limitations.
As long as the warrior tier recolor piece is not class restricted, it should unlock for all plate wearers on your B Net account.
I have a question regarding transmogging tabards, if someone playing Alpha can investigate this. Will transmogging a tabard give the functionality of the tabard, or just the look of it?For example: If I transmog to the Tabard of the Ebon Blade will I get the rep in LK dungeons, or do I need to physically equip the tabard for that? And a question about pieces and sets that have different looks for Alliance and Horde, specifically Tier 9 and its non-class restricted lookalikes. My human Paladin has the full Turalyon's set. If I were to faction transfer him to Horde, the system would automatically trade his Turalyon's for Liadrin's, the Horde Tier 9. Does this mean that my blood elf Paladin will get the Liadrin's set from my human's Turalyon's? There are no race restrictions on the pieces in question. ~Blinky
They seem too intent on making the Wardrobe just a storage for your transmog, when it has the potential to be much more. Let everyone unlock everything, then you don't have to worry about Plate wearers unlocking everything when Clothies can only unlock cloth. The current mog system prevents clothies walking around decked in plate, so why worry. Allow the wardrobe to be a collection system and the Transmog system to remain as is. Everyone's happy.
Hmm. Wowhead ate my comment.Short version - Blizzard are doing this to artificially extend the gametime needed to unlock stuff.Anything bound to you should be added (using it is irrelevant)All quest rewards should be added (ability to use irrelevant)Option to bind anything to you without equipping so that it is added.I think blizz fears people taking loot just for the wardrobe that they can't use otherwise. However, I reckon people soloing old content and getting loot they can't use which should really be added to the wardrobe will be a bigger problem.
This will free up so much bag space now. Thank you blizzard!
Okay but the dressing room DOESN'T work. I go in with my tauren hunter main and her current gear, and all that shows up in the helm and shoulders; not even the model for anything else shows, and her body is weird rainbow tones.I'd like some clarification too re: can we delete items once they're added to our transmog database. I assume we can, but it's not clear. And what will this do to void storage's usefulness? I mean, I'll still have a few things that I want to keep for sentimental reasons that I can't use or don't have an appearance in-game, but assuming I can clear out my bank with this, they could just go there instead.I maintain that the best system like this is Lord of the Rings Online's, where the appearance is totally separate from your actual gear; if you change your gear, the appearance stays the same. And you can set a couple of different outfits, and there are some workarounds that allow you to use the appearance of armor you can't equip (which I think should be allowed and up to the player's discretion in terms of suitability for the character; if they want to look silly as a priest or mage in full plate armor, that's their business). That Blizz is even doing this much is super promising, and I'm really hopeful about it (and I kind of hope they get it sorted out and release it in a patch before Legion, I can't wait for it).
CAn we transmog Legendary weapons on this patch or not? :/
What will happen now with the tabards that gives you extra reputation?
Hiding shoulders - definitely not something you're going to use if you are an Orc. Would be pretty cool on races like BElf tho.
