Blah blah blah, end of WoW.Blah blah blah it's because of _____.Blah blah blah i'm gonna keep playing anyway. There, I feel like i've contributed now. =D
hopefully now blizz will somehow merge dead servers or at least create a battlegroup auction house. for one of the first games to implement an economy it's not quite enjoyable without one.
I have already stopped paying for WoW for similar reasons to yours...Not because I dislike the game, but that I just do not have enough time to play anymore.
I've debated canceling my account a number of times. I'm like many people, I have school and family to juggle. CRZ makes leveling horrible. Waiting in line for quest mobs or trying to level professions...Then there's dailies. You don't "have" to do them, they say, but if you don't.... that makes gearing ridiculous. I'm on a dying server so I can only raid on one toon, and not much oppurtunity to pug. "But you can transfer servers"... at what.... 25 bucks a pop.... Quitting seems the more sensible option
I started In Classic and I'm still playing /shrugWhen I say Classic I mean Pre AQ gate opening Pre Naxx Pre 1st Leveling Nerf etc etc
I understand that Blizzard is a business and their aim is ofcourse to make money. But, surely it's obvious if they made free server transfers available it would solve a lot of problems.Too many players are refusing to pay to move off a dead server or simply can't afford it.
The reason is simply that we just got too much too fast and too easily. I have personally gotten everything i ever wanted this game(ok my warrior is lacking Emerald Legplates)so i quitted a week ago. There´s nothing to conquer anymore, i do cba those Cata and MoP raids they just ain´t what raids used to be. WoW has lost it´s"magicness". Healt boost in Cata was one reason. Ofc it solved many things but it also made this game too easy. And there´s only few cool looking items after WoTLK. I did prefer Vanilla and TBC items when i transmogged something even if i never played during them i started just before WoTLK. It´s so sad that a real good game is ruined by few people..
IMHO, i dont think that WoW its dying because of the content (dailies, CRZ, etc), we have to renember that in Europe a lot of people got financial problems, so its hard to them to buy prepaids, but speaking of Asia, i think since the some "farming gold tricks" has been "destroyed", a lot of Asian players are leaving the game because they cannot farm gold like before. But speaking of content, i see MOP a great "recovery" of CATA, in fact some new features like the Pet Battles and Farm were well recive by the players, but speaking of CRZ was implemented with the idea to make the low populated areas more... "lively".Lately a lot of people are speaking about a F2P WoW, but like others games with limitations, but a game like that its sucks because people will abandon the game in a couple of months (2-3), Blizz need the money to "haste" the development of the game.

You hit the nail on the head. I've got a job, and a family to worry about now. Many of us that were younger when WoW came out and have been playing for nearly ten years are starting to realize that it's just not worth the time. They could make it 10x less of a time sink and I'd still not want to play. I just have more important things to do.I can play my Fallout or any other single player game for 1 hour a day and come back to the same character with no repercussions. There's no one to fall behind. I quit WoW six months ago and have been rediscovering my Steam library and I'm happy that I did.
Clearly if WoW had addressed my specific pet peeve, they wouldn't be in this dire situation (not uncommon for the middle of the expansion). Oh wait, no, I'm actually still playing, so clearly my thing wasn't actually enough to make people quit in droves.
Off-topic: Despite being called dailies, you do not HAVE to do them daily. Nor, if you do them anyway, do you have to do them ALL every day, despite the max restriction having been lifted. You can pick and choose what to do, and do not have to do it ALL RIGHT NOW, or preferably yesterday... You could even *gasp* not be online every day/night, and still have plenty of time to enjoy the game. Just not if you want to do all every day and have the feeling you really surely truly have to do it now or sooner, that will just burn you out. On topic: 8.3 is still a LOT of people. And 8.3 million subscribers is still a major cash cow. The glory days may have faded, with many fondly remembering going uphill, backwards, through snow, on bare feet, but WoW is by no means dead or dying.
