Mists of Pandaria: Zones Overview

Leveling: Intended for level 85-87. There is only one starting zone in Pandaria in contrast to past expansions.

Quest Rewards: 372-384 with rare 404 rewards from Boom Goes the Doonamite!/Carp Diem.

Instances: Temple of the Jade Serpent is a dungeon which requires level 85 to unlock. Requires ilvl 358.

Notable Rare Spawns and Loot: Many rare spawns drop BoP ilvl 420 epics, like Pool-Stirrer from Aethis. A few mobs drop unique items, like Martar's Magnifying Glass from Martar the Not-So-Smart.

Vanity Items:
Jade Raccoon is a reward from The Jade Witch that summons a raccoon.

Fishy is a reward from Let Them Burn/What's in a Name Name?.

Leveling: Level 86+. Generally the second zone players will quest in Pandaria.

Quest Rewards: ilvl 399, with rare 419 rewards from The Gratitude of Stoneplow and Cleaning House.

Instances: Stormstout Brewery requires 85 and ilvl 358 to queue on normal.

Notable Rare Spawns and Loot:
Many rare spawns in Valley drop fun trinkets like Terracotta Fragment and Seed of Tranquil Growth, as well as the consumable Crystal of Insanity. Check out the full list here.

In addition, players can loot a staff that resembles the signature Monk mace, as well as other items from treasure chests.

Rare Elites highlights: Hozen Peace Pipe increases your reputation with all factions by 1000. Also many ilvl 440 BoEs like Cournith Waterstrider's Silken Finery.

Lost and Found highlights: Recipe: Banana Infused Rum

Wanderers, Dreamers, and You is a ceremony that happens on Sunday mornings on Turtle Beach.

Vanity Items

Quest reward highlights include The Golden Banana and Kickable Keg. The Anglers also sell vanity fishing items.

Murdering a bunch of elite lobsters will let you summon Clawlord Kril'mandar, who drops Lobstmourne.

Leveling: Level 87+. You will need to complete A Witness to History at the Temple of the White Tiger to unlock quests in Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

Quest Rewards: ilvl 414 with ilvl 434 rewards from The Leader Hozen and The Fall of Shai Hu.

Instances:
Shado-Pan Monastery unlocks for level 87+ players. Minimum ilvl 393 on normal.

Mogu'shan Vaults is accessible via flying in northern Kun-Lai. It unlocks on normal difficulty on October 2nd.

Notable Rare Spawns and Loot

Rare Elites highlights: Pandaren Firework Launcher, Forager's Gloves, Crate of Kidnapped Puppies.

Lost and Found highlights: Hozen Warrior Spear has a unique model, Tablet of Ren Yun teaches you how to make a brew that has a temporary blindfold disguise.

Vanity Items

Quest Highlights: Explosive Barrel, Jin Warmkeg's Brew.

Reins of the Grand Expedition Yak is sold by Uncle Bigpocket.

In the Zandalari islands to the north. clicking on the cauldrons can give you a voodoo disguise (or make you sick).

Leveling: Level 87+. Hardly any leveling quests here. Connects Valley of the Four Winds to Kun-Lai Summit.

Instances: Terrace of Endless Spring, opens October 30th on normal mode.

Vanity Items: Madam Goya has set up the Black Market Auction House, a new type of AH in which the server generates rare vanity items and gear for players to bid on.

Reputation: Wrathion is back and he's tied to the new legendary chain. You'll need to pick up Trial of the Black Prince at level 90 and kill mogu and mantid to get Honored reputation, allowing you to start work on the legendary gem quest.

Townlong Steppes

Leveling: Level 88+. Accessed from the Great Wall bordering Kun-Lai Summit and from Dread Wastes in the south.

Quest Rewards: ilvl 429 with ilvl 442 rewards from Terror of the Dread Wastes and The Sha of Hatred. Remnants of Anger apparently rewards ilvl 476 boots.

Instances: Siege of Niuzao Temple. Requires ilvl 440 to queue and level 90. There is no normal mode--just heroic.

Rare Elites highlights: Many rare spawns drop large satchels that contain trade goods. Example: Big Bag of Food.

Lost and Found highlights: BoA mace Yaungol Fire Carrier.

Quest Rewards: ilvl 437 with ilvl 450 rewards from Fires and Fears of Old, Overthrone, The Mariner's Revenge.

Instances:
Gate of the Setting Sun is a level 90-only dungeon that sits between Dread Wastes and Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Requires ilvl 440 to queue, no normal mode.

Heart of Fear is a raid that opens on normal mode on October 30.

Notable Rare Spawns and Loot

Rare Elites highlights: Elixir of Ancient Knowledge, Hozen Beach Ball, Imbued Jade Fragment.

Lost and Found highlights: Many BoA weapons like Swarming Cleaver of Ka'roz and Dissector's Staff of Mutation.

Leveling: This is a level-90 only zone. You need flying in order to access it.

Instances: Mogu'shan Palace is a dungeon that requires level 87 to unlock and ilvl 393 to queue on normal mode.

Notable Rare Spawns and Loot:
Rare Elites highlights: Chalice of Secrets, Panflute of Pandaria, Aqua Jewel.

Reins of the Thundering Ruby Cloud Serpent is the new rare spawn mount for Pandaria. It drops off a rare level 92 spawn, Alani. To engage Alani, you first need to farm up 10 Skyshard from Vale of Eternal Blossoms and fuse them together into Sky Crystal to disrupt Alani's Nimbus Shroud.
