So a 2hand strength axe isnt for retri pallys? Could have fooled me, lol
I was kind of underwhelmed, I'll be honest. I was around for the Wrath and the Cata events, and those felt like actual events. I ran this twice last night, and the second time felt like a time waster.
I was really looking forward to seeing this step in Garrosh's continued fall from grace, but I'm left feeling underwhelmed and confused. My description of how I felt to my husband was "Where's the beef?"I queued up my main first, night elf boomkin. I've been avoiding most spoilers, so all I knew was that Theramore was getting destroyed by a "mana bomb" but no details on the bomb's composition. The loading screen took nearly a minute to resolve once the queue popped, then I get a cut scene of a goblin zep dropping a sphere in the middle of Theramore that makes some kind of arcane explosion. The cut scene ends, and I find myself in "Stage 2" on a boat, looking at a pile of corpses on the dock. I run to catch up with the other two players, and follow them as we kill a bunch of NPCs and light boats on fire, then the popup tells us to kill this other guy, then run over and say Hi to Jaina who asks us to kill some more things and recover flags. Then we kill the general who comes to attack Jaina, she finally removes the "focusing iris" from the sphere and ports out to SW.I thought I had gotten into an in-progress event, because I was sure missing a lot of info. Why were there no Alliance fighting? Where did this iris thing come from? What was in Stage 1? I came to Wowhead to find out, and discovered a ton of lore that is nowhere in the Scenario. I shouldn't have to look outside the game for information that is key to a lore-based event.
1 thing:FIREWORKShaven't seen a single epic drop for me in 2 days..so, with hour long queues, low drops, and non-class specific loot, that 1 week this will be available won't be enough to get the item we want. Well... only the 1h sword has a good model anyway, and stats are pretty meh, so anyway.. ppl do it mostly just to cap their JP
This is what happens when a gaming company transforms into a dominant corporation. Demanded content is forced out whether it sucks or not just to push out a few extra pennies, not because human beings with active imaginations want to make the game more enjoyable. In the last couple of years, this fact has started to become even more glaringly obvious. WoW went from being an entertaining MMO that required thought, coordination and dedication to EZ Mode faceroll cater-to-all...
Uninspired, lame, and very unsatisfying. I realize there is a book this is building from, but some semblance of what is going on would have been helpful. A quest to lead you to the boats? A message from Varian or any other faction leader? A mental message from Jaina or something to rally behind? (Alliance obviously)This is exactly why I dislike the queuing for dungeons and events. It's a huge plus to not have to drive through 20 quests to get to the instance quests, but dropping onto a boat with nothing besides some weak cutscene kinda sucks.I feel bad for the people who miss out on all the story elements that make WoW so amazing. Giving people tools to skip through the sluggish parts is nice, don't get me wrong. But people will just devour content without ever knowing why. Without any emotion or understanding, it's just another loot fest. The more that Blizz removes parts of this and just warps people from instance to instance, the less satisfying the instance is. Hopeful for scenarios in the future though, but this was pretty weak.$.02 from a lore fan and someone who thinks WoW is much more than kill 10 x's.
Relevant interview (Also includes CRZ, so someone might wanna link it into the CRZ threads).
For people not getting their desired loot to drop:I read in other posts (non-official) that you have to be in the right spec and class to even have a chance at your respective gear to drop. I also read in WoW Insider that the loot system for MoP will be following such a system. It seems that the Theramore Scenario is following this.So to be able to get your specific gear to drop; I'm assuming you need to be a class who primarily wears that type of gear and also be in the spec that primarily uses those stats when looting the bag of spoils? (Meaning no Golden Circlet helmet will drop if you're not in a tanking spec and if you're not a plate wearer)Or does this only count when you defeat the boss/talk to your respective NPC after the scenario is finished? Could you possibly be in another spec and then switch to your "corresponding" spec before looting the bag?Can anyone confirm this? Thanks~
worse damn pre-expansion event EVER. not worth 5 seconds of your time.
