I hate the graphics at the left side of the bar. It's a tad of an eyesore. As for the rest, I don't use it, but it's non-obtrusive, so I don't mind.
As stated by others, I don't use adblock to block wowhead but this is really really intrusive. Despite the fact that it is white, it gives the webiste the aspect of a $$$ RUSH BLOG just built to make cash and I think that it isn't your intention.
It popped up immediately before I signed in, and I did worry that it could be adware or a nasty popup, despite showing some Wowhead features. It disappeared after I logged in - I'm guessing that I need to enable it in my profile or something.Initially, I don't mind it. As long as I can opt out of it if I'm a premium user. Also, I love your guys work but I think you need to ensure that you post on the forum about new things like this before you implement them. In this case, it appeared a good 3-4hrs before Miyari posted.By notifying us first and explaining about the feature, you will most likely have less negative feedback than if it was a (possibly unpleasant) surprise for some of us.
I definitely do not like. It's like a pop-up you can't close. I'm glad I have premium.
I use Click2Flash and that blocks the meebo toolbar too.I imagine my home computer (which doesn't have Flash at all) won't get it.For as awesome as Wowhead's design sense is, I'm disappointed the meebo bar is so garish. At least make it white-on-black to match the rest of the site.
No thanks. I don't like animated ads. I don't like the white bar. I can already share anything I care about using feedly. I don't like what it does to selecting text.
I'm falling more into the "dislike" category, and I actually use Meebo on my iPhone. I don't need more ads, and as it's been mentioned it breaks the continuity of the site's feel. Additionally, now if I highlight a sentence on a page, I get one of those annoying "Share" boxes pop up next to my selection. (As an aside, why are more and more sites shoving in stuff like that? Does anyone really like it?)Wowhead is one of 2-3 sites I actually enable ads on, but don't push more social media on us. Everyone else is doing that, and you're better than that. I follow you guys on Twitter. That's all I need.
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
Stupid, stupid, stupid. I adblocked it right away, to be honest.
I don't really have much use for any of it, so it's most likely going to be hidden by that arrow in the corner. But I opened an ad mouseover (the Groupon one) just to see what would happen.Whoa. Whoa, hold on there. It opens a popup the size of the entire screen in the same window and blocks the wowhead content. This is not good. If it's just going to blow up like that, it should just automatically go to a new tab/window instead of making me click out manually. And then clicking out manually doesn't automatically close the popup, it just makes *two* giant in your face ads (the one on the wowhead page and the new tab). Double not good.
I do the text highlighting thing to and I agree, it's pretty annoying to have that popping up every two seconds. If there was a way to disable that, it would be great.
Can i turn this stuff off or i need to block everything with an AdBlock?
I'm glad I have Premium. Frankly, addons like that kinda bother me.
I haven't found anything on Wowhead that instruct visitors on how to disable this. I don't want it and can't get rid of it. I understand they want a better way to advertise, but this doesn't work for me. The lag it causes is not a welcome feature. For those of us who have tried this and do not want this, please give instructions on how to remove it. Your promt response would be appreciated!
Worst by far is the copy and paste box, especially as I copy it and then click off, and every single time I hit that box.Would it be possible for that box to just be removed? Otherwise I am not having a problem with it
