I usually play a cleric. I prefer hybrid classes that can heal and buff. Paladin is what I play in WoW. When I played the Amalor demo i tried a hammer melee/caster and a rogue/caster.

I always play a caster in every game that I can. I just love magic and casting pretty spells.
I always play a Reaver type. The whole anti-paladin vibe always makes me happy.
I mainly play ranged non caster types like rangers, hunters, etc. I love having a pet that takes the damage for me while I pew pew from a distance.Plus I like having medium armor so I can still remain mobile, take some damage if enemies get close, and even melee a bit if needed in those situations instead of being a caster type in cloth that goes "oh no..." when melee gets close to them. lol
Rogue/Assassin, or sometimes a Necromancer/ evil -themed caster, just love sinking a blade into someones back or throwing a huge shadow bolt or something in there face >:D
I play casters, because I love to do DPS at an alarming rate. Other than that, healers.
When it comes to RPGs where I get to choose, I almost always tend towards the Rogue/Thief sneaky style build for a 1st character. Wizard/Mage/Caster type for the 2nd character and the Sword & Board Warrior for a 3rd character, unless the Paladin is an option.
I tend to favor any magic wielding class, but I like be able to hold my own with a sword as well... so Battlemage I guess?
I actually swap between melee and range. For most mmo's i usually play ranged since they "Tend" to not pay for durability and usually farm easier as well. I do like to melee, but ranged is kind of where it's at. I tank when needed in mmo's as well and for the games like League of Legends I actually play melee. :)
For years I've been playing Amazons/Hunters/dps... I like to do damage from afar but when I get in close and personal I like to be able to bring the pain. Most of the caster types are usually light armor and I really don't like light armored toons as I can't get up and personal if needed.
