casters...but not all casters...i tend to go with ones that might get a pet like a warlock in WoW
I usually just play the Tank with 2-handers and tank hit everything...
I usually play caster DPS or a tank (or a healer, whenever it fits my fancy)
Melee classes, nothing like going up to the enemy and.... have fun! :)
I usually play a caster in RPGs.. For Skyrim, however, I mixed it up and played a mace/shield melee.
I play a couple of Hunters in WOW, why ppl think its okay to call us Huntards is beyond me, to properly play a Hunter is to play as if your pet is an extension of your toon, not like the pet is there to take on all damage. I feel its a personal failure when my pet is killed.
I usually try the rogue type first, but sometimes I don't like the way they go. Then I will make a caster especially a summoner type if there is one. If not then a more dark magic which deals higher damage with limited healing.
Frequently find myself drawn to classes with some type of healing or holy ability. If not their main attributes atleast some type of secondary skills. Ranged or melee really doesn't matter to me. Not much of the thief/rogue type classes, although I do have a rogue or two scattered amoungst my WoW toons.
I typically like being well rounded and playing a variety of classes, but I almost always start with casters. For instance, my first D3 class will most certainly be a wizard, but I'm also interested in playing the monk. In RPGs where you get to choose which route to take with your character, I often times take a balanced route; Kingdom Hearts for example, I remember balancing magic and melee instead of relying on one or the other.
I usually gravitate towards a Paladin or Cleric type class at first. Then I branch out to other classes and become an alt-o-holic before I decided on a main. I think that's the D&D background in my initial character selection.
I don't really have a "usual" class I play in RPGs. I usually play whatever the RPG designers made the most fun for me, which varies with every RPG. Sometimes the sneak mechanics are bad, or the camera angles only frustrate, so rogue becomes a chore; sometimes combat isn't very fluid so 2-hand DPS feels lacking, sometimes, in the case of Oblivion, I just cannot aim properly no matter what I do so ranged classes are out (magic/bow users) so.... yeah, it really depends on the RPG. I like *all* the RPG archetypes except magic user, though. Sword and board, two hand, rogue, archer, etc.
In most RPGs I go for warrior-based classes, though if possible I do like mixing in a bit of magic (usually fire and healing). I've always been a fan of the heavily-armored characters with two large weapons cutting down swathes of enemies.
RPG games are my favorite and almost all the time I'm playing as a stealthy dagger+ranged weapon(like bow) character. I just love to kill enemies and complete my quest's while haven't been seen. <3
I'm always the rogue. The power it offers is usually overwhelming in capable hands! :>
I usually play a warrior. but not a tank warrior one who can throw on 2 a hander and wreck some people!
