My favorite memory of WoW was when I first raided, ever, in Naxx. I tanked and was completely nervous, but ended up sticking with it. The feeling of adrenaline that I had when there were call outs for movement and taunts. It was such a great challenge and something I'll never forget. Now I've moved onto healing in Cata, which is just as stressful!
I've been playing since about 4 months before Burning Crusade came out. My favorite time period during World of Warcraft was shortly after BC came out, when Kara was first starting to be run. I was in a guild on Kirin Tor - Horde called <Axis of Evil>, and we were all very good friends. To illustrate this point, we all had our cell phone numbers in our officer notes in the guild information, so if we were needed (or many times just to talk,) our friends could get in touch with us.My absolute favorite moment was a combination of two days. The first night we stepped into Karazhan, we one-shot Attumen. Our guild had never raided before, we were just friends who ran heroics, queued for battlegrounds together, and joked around on vent all day, so we were all elated that we killed a raid boss on our FIRST TRY!We got cocky. We went on to Moroes, and got our butts handed to us violently and without pity (our only shackler was our healer priest, and she wasn't used to juggling cc AND healing raid-boss damage at the same time). It was about 4am and 300g in repairs later by the time we decided to call it a night, saying we'd come back the next night to get him down. That morning at about 9am, we(my fiance and I) get a call from our Guild Master's wife(the Holy priest.). "Hey, guys. Get online. We can't sleep anymore until that over-zealous butler is laying on the ground covered in sparkles!. <click>" So we get on, and the rest of the guild had gotten that call as well. We all zone in, and get Moroes down within the hour. Not only was it fun to be raiding for the first time, and to do pretty well and feel like we fairly talented players, but we made some life-long friends in that guild, and playing with people who we cared about and who were fun just to talk to in vent all night was the best time I've ever had in a video game.
My first Vashj kill will ALWAYS be my favorite memory of wow. Epic fight. Epic nerd screams. Nothing beats working on a legitimately hard encounter for weeks to finally see the boss die.
My favourite memory from WoW is when our guild finally managed to achieve Earth, Wind & Fire on 10man, which made us the 3rd guild on the realm to do it in WotLK. Everyone had to stay unsaved and ready to raid during the 2 hours that we controlled Wintergrasp after each win, so after a few weeks of tries it felt great to have completed it.
The first time I did a dungeon run with some guild mates, that feeling of everyone having your back, and what with them being overgeared it was so much fun just watching all the mobs drop like flies, now I run lower level dungeons on my main just to relive the moment and try to recreate the effect for other players
My favorite WoW memory was getting the original Loremaster achievement less than a month after WotLK was released. I started playing WoW on the day it came out, and I have always been a quest junkie. I had made it a personal goal of mine to do every possible quest in the game, even before there were things like achievements to recognize it.I was finishing up Icecrown quests, getting closer and closer to the #140 that would make me a Loremaster. A few of my guildies were helping me, because all I had left were group quests. I kept getting more and more excited with each quest I finished. We completed #140, and my heart was pounding all the way to the questgiver to turn it in. I turned in the quest, and my screen flashed "Icecrown: the Final Goal," "Loremaster of Northrend," "The Loremaster." Guild chat was full of cheers for me.I still have the letter that Tyrande sent me on completing the achievement.
My favorite WoW memory is from back in the Burning Crusade days. My daughter, who was 11 at the time and an avid pet collector, wanted the spider and worg pup from UBRS. My hunter was level 70, and her druid was 64 -- complete noobs, even at that level. We tried to 2-man the dungeon to get those pets. It was pretty tough for just the two of us ... but so much fun! It took us over three hours to get through it (plus some tears), but we finished it and got our pets.As I think back on it. all of my favorite WoW memories are from the times my daughter and I were playing together. Whether it was rep grinding for mounts, dungeon crawling for achievements, or dragging orphans through the BGs to get that last holiday achievement for our purple drakes, I've had so much fun, so many laughs, and some very special memories created with my daughter. Thirty dollars a month (x2 accounts) for the last 4 years sounds like a lot of money when you think about it, but the memories of the good times we've shared are priceless.
It was back in Burning Crusade, some friends and I were in Hellfire Peninsula trying to get our characters leveled. We decided to do Hellfire Ramparts to maybe get some gear upgrades and between the four of us (2 pallies, a rogue, and me, a warrior,) all we needed was a healer. Anyone who played BC, especially late BC, remembers finding a tank or healer, even DPS sometimes, was no easy task. There was no queue, just general chat and praying. So we waited and waited... and waited. We almost gave up when someone got a whisper from a priest leveling in the area. The little blond blood elf knew her stuff and we steam rolled the dungeon and had a ton of fun. So the four of us decide this priest would be awesome in our little nubbish guild. She came in, got her TEAMSPEAK set up (yeah like I said, nubbish,) and she logged in. I logged in to listen and socialize a little later, but there was some random dude in the guilds server so I ask, "Who's the dude in TS?" It was the little bond priest. My world was flipped around. So we gave him the title "gender confused priest" for a while. Well that gender confused priest and I talked about everything, so we switched myspaces (old school) and eventually numbers... you know for guild stuff... Two expansions, four states, and a military deployment later, we are celebrating our one year (RL) wedding anniversary. Long live the Outlands.
My favorite memory of WoW has to be all the hard work getting to level 40 for the very first time and, being that my very first character was a paladin, the epic questline to get her warhorse. I miss cool stuff like that in WoW & the group effort to get there ♥
