BlizzCon, because there's WoW everywhere and so hot chicks in nerdy costumes....but for realMidsummer fire festival. Mostly because there's fire everywhere...and more fire, fire, FIRE! and Ahune the Frost lord with his really nice scythe and did i mention there's a lot of fire?
My favorite holiday must be Hallow's End.I remember the first time it occurred, I relaxed at Lion's Pride Inn in Elwynn Forest with my night elf hunter (the time I rolled an alliance character). They first time I spoke to the inkeeper and "tricked or treated" him/her I got a 'Hallowed Wand - Leper Gnome' which I immediately used on my pals (though they were already stressful gnome warriors).I also remember watching the WoW movie "NinJack" where NinJack (the hero) also turns his foe into a leper gnome, which made me really excited as a kid :).A couple of "Tricks or Treats" later, I found myself taking cool pictures of my character wearing deceased warrior costumes, and performing attacks as a bat etc. etc. However, that was the first holiday I actually noticed except the Lunar Festival, but that festival only brought me into the jaws of Omen so that isn't such a great memory at all :/.I still enjoy the Hallow's End holiday but the current version is NO match against the original one, probably because of nostalgia... ...but still ;).
My favorite is Hallow's End because I love everything pumpkins! If only I could live off pumpkin pie alone. Halloween is my favorite real holiday too! Now to finish eating this wonderful tub of pumpkin cheesecake ice cream...
My favorite would be Winter Veil. Not only it's signal for Christmas (and my fave holiday in real life) but the cities in Azeroth are getting dressed up for the occasion, there are some fun achievements and even gifts! Winter Veil is the kind of holiday that you will make you smile while doing nothing at all.
A lot of people have already said Hallow's End but I have to agree.I love halloween a lot and dig all the creepy stuff that goes with it, excuse to dress up, watch scary movies and of course I love sweets too! I was crafty enough to snatch up the only Toffee Apple one year in my youth which made my friends super envious. That's another thing, I have fond memories of walking the streets at night with my friends wearing our costumes, the main thrill just being out in the dark as when you're a young age your parents don't let you out after dark.So Hallow's End reminds me of all that and it's great that it lasts 14 days rather than just one. I especially love the daily "A Time to Lose" in which you have to douse the opposite faction's wickerman. I'm on a PvE server so it's fun for me as an Alliance to visit the Horde and try to douse their man with the threat of death looming over my shoulder. Makes the whole thing more intense! I can also use my weighted Pumpkins on them. The Horseman's Reins is also a very cool mount, I have yet to get it but I can live in hope and keep trying.
The Midsummer Festival has to be my favorite holiday. It really combines all aspects that, in opinion, belong in a world holiday event!- Fun mini-games such as Torch Juggling and Pole Dancing (Who doesn't like a hot female Draenei performing a Burning Hot Pole Dance?)- Fighting an evil Elemental Lord ("THE ICESTONE HAS MELTED!") - Traveling and exploring the far reaches of the world to honor campfires (Keep your friends close, but your campfires closer?)- Going to that neighbouring town after having one too many beers, emptying your blatter on their sacred campfire and being given flowers for doing so.After all that hard "work", you can truly say: "It's good to be the King".
Hallow's End! Winter's Veil is a reasonably close second, but Hallow's End wins! Costumes and Candy and a cat flying on a broom!...ok, I realize I just squeeed right there, and I'm not going to apologize for that.
BREWFESTThe quests are fun, its all about beer, duh And watching people type in guild drunk is worth every second.Cheers!
Brewfest will always hold a special place in my memories, since the first one happened less than a year after I first started playing. Because I was unemployed at the time, I was able to get enough tickets for every reward: including the slow speed ram that you haven't been able to get since. Especially since faction changing to Horde, it's a very noticeable mount!
I think Brewfest is my favorite, it's a good time to enjoy a drink and some snacks with friends; also, the boss is hilarious! A second close would be Winter's Veil; I love the speechs of Greatfather Winter and the big tree!
Hallow's End for me personally, October marks my birth year and I can never wait to get going on candy buckets and Headless Horseman run throughs. I think every holiday event is great and well planned out in the World of Warcraft and it's always great to particiapte in them. But when it comes to Hallow's End, this year definitely made it much better, I mean come on, who doesn't love a cat with a witch's hat on and flies on a broom. Great stuff as always. In general, being an avid user of Wowhead's great database and always up to date guides for everything World of Warcraft (Thanks a ton Miyari, Ashelia and the whole gang at Wowhead for those btw!) it's never difficult to complete these event's in their entierty every time they come around.
My favorite holiday is Pilgrims Bounty because My father and I were born the 27th of November. So we fall on thanksgiving every four years. it the best holiday!
