I really do enjoy all of the holidays that Blizzard has developed over the years, and enjoying the development of each as things are tweaked and changed. While this years Hallow's End has gotten a fantastic update, I really enjoy the thought that it's the Gilneans bringing the holiday to true meaning for the Alliance, I had my first real, meaningful experience of cross-faction interaction and working together during the very first Winter's Veil, but I have to think that overall...my favorite holiday is Brewfest.I was excited about it for a week before hand when it first arrived, since you had the setup crew hanging out outside of Orgimmar. I didn't heavily read websites like wowinsider or any of the other news sites, so I really didn't know what to expect...when it first arrived, there was a great sense of 'oooh, whats all this?'. Christmas like festivities you have a sense of what they'll be, same for Halloween and Valentines analogs in any given MMO. But Brewfest...all we -really- knew that that it was going to involve beer and that was fantastic. It was new, it was different (no other MMO I participated in had an event for Oktoberfest) and came complete with some of the craziest events ever.I vividly remember when the Dark Iron's attacked for the first time. My server was pretty populous at the time, so there were a -lot- of mugs flying through the air, so many people there, it crashed the server. Getting back in, of course there was some griefing with macros that was fixed in later years, but for the most part, those people were shut down by the community, and everyone came together to just have fun. Even cross faction characters would come and dance and hang around at the grounds; though they couldn't use the vendors or our beer barrels, they brought their own brew! Though I was only level 40 when it first came, I worked hard to improve my barrel running to get enough tokens in order to purchase the rams, and saved that fast one in my bank for that glorious day I could learn to ride it, so different from other Horde mounts. Even though that first year I wasn't able to go and take out Corwin Direbrew, I was still able to participate in a very fulfilling way, and completely, utterly fell in love with the event.I still have that character, and Im still proud of that slow Brewfest ram that's so unique now. I've gone on to get nearly every holiday achievement since on other characters (I have issues with bringing orphans to battlegrounds and thusly do not have the Children's Week full achievement) and look forward to Brewfest the most every year.
Since I was old enough to remember I have had a single favorite holiday. There are some good ones out there. Christmas is the favorite for most; for the secular-minded the presents make the day and Believers know that it marks the day that the Son of God came into this world to seek and save. Many love Easter. Again, there is something for both the religious and the irreligious – God’s sacrifice for the World and chocolate bunnies for those who don’t believe. Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday as well, a time to enjoy good food and share with loved ones.As much as I love each of those, my favorite holiday is the reason we are able to celebrate those holidays the way we do. Without the holiday I am thinking of, we would have neither the means nor the freedom to indulge. My favorite holiday is the 4th of July. It is the day that we celebrate the most incredible political document in history – the Declaration of Independence. It is the day that we celebrate the founding of the Nation that has brought more freedom and more prosperity to the world than any other. When one truly understands what we were given by those admittedly imperfect men over 200 years ago, the only possible response is a sense of awe and wonder. History has proven their wisdom. Many around the world are jealous of the United States of America – I’ve talked with some of them just today. Many within the country feel the success of the nation is unjust and wish to destroy it in a vain attempt to make the rest of the world better – these fools now outnumber patriots in all branches of our federal government.America is the best place in the world. I have pledged my life to do anything I can to keep it so. Today that pledge places me on an Army base just outside Baghdad. Tomorrow it may take me elsewhere, and where ever my country calls me, I will gladly go. I love the United States and its Constitution more than I love life itself. I love her the most for what she has to offer – especially to all those who hate her so. The model that took us to greatness is no secret, any and all can have the same. Those within America who rail against her are only afforded that ability because of the things they rail about – and the irony is lost on them. This 4th of July, take a minute to think about all that we have that others do not. Bow your head and thank Providence for placing you in the greatest nation in human history. Think of those who have worked hard to make America great, think of those who have given all to keep her safe. Most of all, consider what your country asks of you in this time of greatest need. Take some time to teach your children the truth that the fireworks celebrate. Find a little money to send to a patriot running for office – help them to get elected to right the ship. Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, James Madison, and all the others – they were just men – but men who stood up for what was right. Many of those who faced down King George suffered greatly for it. Not a tenth of that risk is asked of you. If you are able, are you not obligated?God bless America, my home sweet home.P.S. Watch some fireworks for me – I’m not actually hoping for any this year.
My favorite holiday, eh? I would have to go with Hallow's End. As a huge fan of the real life holiday, I think that this is just one of the coolest holidays out there. When you get that bone-chilling feeling inside of your first encounter against the Headless Horseman (at least it was rather bonechilling before you used dungeon finder), you just feel that same sense of hatred for him as you do for a number of the harder bosses in raids. The way they plot him out to be the antagonist he is, and just his animations/mounts/pumpkin soldiers make you really feel like this boss is just awesome. Back before Azeroth was on wings 24/7, the intimidating feeling of riding out to Southshore or Razor Hill to try and rush the water on made you feel like you really needed teamwork to try and accomplish the task. Then you have the awesome wand costumes, amazing mounts (both temporary and not), the candy, and the pumpkin-helm hurling. It was just one of those holidays where you want it to be there longer just so you can ride your horseman mount around Dalaran (as it was when I got it pre-cata) and have people laugh at you as a tiny gnome with a pumpkin on your face. I always love this season, real life and in-game.Or idk, maybe it is just the warlock in me that likes seeing the green fire that we never get to use...
My Favorite WoW holiday has to be hands down Hallow's End. I used to love the hourly trick or treat but it was taken out. In return they gave use easy and quick dailies and vendors to get everything we need. I like flying around Azeroth and collecting candy buckets for the achievements and finding extra as well. Each bucket gives experience and I am an altaholic so every Hallow's End i fly around Azeroth and gain a few quick levels on my alts. I love collecting treats, mounts and useful gear at max level. This year they added the Feline Familiar and Creepy Crates which now have become my 2 favorite companions. Hopefully Creepy Crate doesn't eat the rest of them like my Panicked animals for my quests.Happy Hallow's End and hide your companions from Creepy Crate!-Angel-
My favourite holiday is Hallows End because I like the quests, Horseless Headless Horseman fight, and just the general feel of the holiday. Plus you get to annoy the opposing faction with stink bombs. :)
Children's Week.Achievements are fun and not nearly as repetitive!Pets are awesome.Idea is heart warming :D
My favorite WoW holiday is Hallow's End. I enjoy it's lore the most and its nice to see the usual scenery of Scarlet Monastery - Graveyard, especially when it's going to be changed in the next expansion - Mists of Pandaria. So, it's nice to see it for an actual reason before it changes. Every year I get the chance to get the Headless Horseman's mount, still have yet to get it on my main. Also, it allows me to get the newest helm, so I can wear it more often and laugh whenever I get the chance. I love doing the event to put out the fire's in Brill and hearing the Horseman's epic voice as I'm doing it. Unfortuneately I do not know who his voice actor is, I can't find it anywhere. Doing the dailies in the separate inns and places to get the candy buckets also gets me a nice amount of money, and I get tones of fun treats to mess around with my character. It's great to be able to see my character vomit whenever I want, sick but funny. The pets that I can get from Hallow's End are also very cool, although my favorite is the new one, the cat. It's also a fun way to get honor kills and honor points by preventing people from putting out the Wickerman in the Undercity. It's nice to give people a reason for getting out of their usual places in the main cities. My favorite character in game is probably the Headless Horseman, next to Illidan of course. I memorize practically all of the Horseman's lines, although I can never say it like he does, it's just to epic. The part where he laughs just makes me laugh every time.
brewfest is the best off emm all u get the panda the mount and the blurry screen ! :p
Hallow's End by far is my favorite. One of the longest holidays and with one of the most fun atmospheres, it is a great interpretation of Halloween.
Brewfest. Because even though you're fighting in a war that spans the entire world or killing evil entities that have existed before time it's always important to take time the time and enjoy a cold brew!
Favorite Holiday in WoW?Day of the Dead.Heres why: 1) Its only 2 days, makes it feel a bit more special, compared to those which last for 2-3 weeks2) It's one of the most interesting celebrations in real life3) The quest givers are invisible! (well, most of 'em anyway)
