My favorite holiday is certainly Love is in the Air.Not for the lovely hearts all around but only for one thing: .And that's also the reason why the rogue who plays in my arena team hates that holiday so much: every time he stealths, a tiny, lovely, flying goblin follows him revealing his location.. my team is not for slow calculated action.. SO MUCH FUN :)
Winter Veil. Everyone loves presents!
My Favorite has always been Hallows End! I love holloween and i enjoy the fighting the fires in the towns. The wands are fun and the quests are funny! I love creepy stuff like that. It makes the game really enjoyable!
I think Hallow's End is the best one. Because I like halloween IRL too, Late spooky nights, and ingame you got the laugh from Headless Horseman and the souls and lives Headless Horseman have taken. I like pumpkins too and the horse.. It's amazing! You can eat much candy too, Like when I was a kid I went out, costumed, with my friends and knock'd doors and screaming Arrh, Trick or treat!Chiing.
Winter Veil! The gnome transformer had me hooked, that and the mood it sets in with the all the decorations.
Since I've only played World of Warcraft since late July, my predicted favorite holiday would be Day of the Dead from a hypothetical standpoint. For one, it's nonsecular(I say this due to its rooted religions being extinct indigenous ones), and while I don't dislike secular holidays, I just find they are overemphasized, both in and out of gaming. I can understand divergence from a holiday's roots in a game, as a means of adaptation to a game world or playful parallelism(often coupled with dodging complaints should it be too close), but the real world's divergence takes a different shade. As a non-devout, or really non-religious person, it may be odd to say something mirroring a fundamentalist view, but it's not that I dislike the modernization of holidays, in fact I quite like it, for then I can celebrate without any hugely religious implications, but the fact of the matter is that they can hardly be labeled secular in some cases. As such, I prefer nonsecular holidays, avoiding religious undertones altogether. Even though Day of the Dead is about honoring the dead, in game and out, it is a cultural ordeal rather than religious, much like many other World of Warcraft nonsecular holidays. Similarly, I like it since it seems to mirror the actual holiday the best out of all the ones I've read up on -- both in terms of time and content. Many of the holidays span a week or so, even though most are only attributed to one day; sure there's breaks/vacations that last longer than that day, but they're usually attributed to only one calendar day, the only one being the exception that I can think of being Oktober/Brewfest, which in my opinion doesn't really match the solemnity that at least undertones other holidays, but rather an annual festivity of enormous popularity. As such, I find Day of the Dead's one day ordeal to be quite refreshing -- brief and flirting, perhaps mirroring the venues and cyclical nature of life itself? You're either there or you're not, and then it's done(whether I'm referring to the holiday or the analogy is open for debate if you like)-- a quick introspective into a rather bizarre Latino holiday. On that line, I really enjoy the premise of the holiday, and I'm not even Hispanic, though I did learn a bit about the Day of the Dead from a Spanish class. Essentially, I just love the concept of honoring the deceased in a not so serious manner akin to funerals. No matter what one may believe, death is scary subject, at least in its uncertainty, so poking fun at it gives at least some sort of security by giving a sense of control and mastery. Plus, it's a nice change of pace -- giving a happy tone to a rather depressive subject. Even though Halloween and Day of the Dead have rather similar symbolism, I like to say that they juxtapose each other nicely -- Halloween offers a mastery and honoring of the scary things we have seen/created in this world, while Day of the Dead honors and honors the act of death itself; a two's compliment of sorts. Alas, I still prefer Day of the Dead in that it's less about the candy and the kids, much as I love both, but about touchier subjects, which makes its high-spirited coloring far more unusual than that of Halloween's. Moreover, I love it because even though the WoW holiday is obviously drawn from the Mexican flavor of which I am most accustomed(and in real life in general, I find that Day of the Dead is usually associated with some Latino version), Día de los Muertos, Day of the Dead is truly one the few celebrations that seems to have transcended culture in that one can trace its many flavors across the globe(some more easily than others due to obscurity). Indeed, by honoring the dead it the closest sort of spiel you can get to the "Naaru have not forgotten us" in real life -- provided we don't forget them first!
Pilgrim's Bounty is my favorite holiday because you can get all your toons cooking level maxed out during this holiday =D
I like Hallow's End because I remember when I went mad about The Horseman's Horrific Helm in '09 and i wound up getting more than i bargained for! *cough Mount cough*
The best time of the year in WOW is Hallow's End by FAR! the quest are great...loot is great...... and I love to kick the butt of the headless horseman!
Hallow's End is my favorite holiday. Nothing beats an instant mount summon like the Flying Broom on all my toons!
Ive been playing wow for almost 6 years and my favorite holiday in World of Warcraft is Brewfest by far, even though I still haven't managed to get the mount while my friends have 3 rams in their banks laughing at me. I like brewfest because the whole idea of it and the atmosphere is awesome, as soon as the brewfest holiday starts i get on my 3 85's and start doing all the quests even though i don't need to, it's sort of the only time i can play wow and not be doing arenas or raids hoping i can win some gear even though i know i wont. Another reason that brewfest is my favorite holiday is because last year during brewfest my friend told me about a book that was just like wow, The Legend of Drizzit. BEST BOOK EVER, so i was either playing wow doing pointless brewfest achievements or i was reading about wow, those 2 things put together= AWESOMENESS, and that is why brewfest is my favorite holiday in World of Warcraft.
Winter Veli!everyone loves free stuff and PvP with new toys every year!
Its winter veil because of all the colored lights and cool quests it seams that almost eveyone is nicer and most helpfull at this time
Hallow's end by far, i have always loved Halloween. The nightmare before Christmas was one of my favorite films and in-game it was a challenge because I was stuck at level 70. I hadn't bought wotlk yet so I spent ages wandering around Trisfal Glades looking for a group that would accept me so I could get the achievement.
definitely hallow's end.the headless horseman's mount is great because it is both a ground mount and a flying mount.admittedly, this is less necessary now than before, since it used to be that some places would ONLY allow ground mounts (e.g. Tol Barad, ZA/ZG, etc.)
