It's not just one guy and not one time, fire mage was being top on overall consistently, even without the tank specificly pulling around it.Dr jay streams mage in the beta pretty much every day, just doing m+, and he said that fire, arcane, mm hunter and spriest still need some nerfs. I just don't think these were the right nerfs.
I really wish blizzard started paying their employees decent salaries and got some actual talent, nerfing by killing a spec makes me want to skip on this expansion
It's mindblown how little people actually understand the current state of balance & power of X or Y class/spec. They probably don't even have BETA access and watched some ''RANDOM'' WoW youtuber that made a ''tierlist'' and put Fire mage very low on the list because that person isn't able to play the spec/class the way it supposed to be played. Or they saw some terrible logs from a bunch of very bad people that raided and think Blizzard should balance around those crooked logs. Fire mage is absolutely whooping *ss and is a really solid DPS class and can pump out extreme damage at times. They are easily a top 5 DPS m+ spec if not higher and also good for raids. Fire mages also benefit from not being target capped on some abilities so they can output insane damage on big(ger) pulls unlike melee. Yet also do more damage on single target bosses then the target capped melee classes. This is the problem blizzard created themselves by cucking melee with a target cap. Wonder how this will work out in the end.. Likely will be a expansion were caster classes reign superior. Including some new terrible m+ affixes for melee as well.
Mage, MM Hunter, Shadowpriest, Disc Priest, Retri Paladin (before nerfs) no wonder they got shafted.Currently Protection Paladin (In arena, Hello? Nerf World of Glory Allies healing) It's the most stupid thing I have seen, Heals more then Holy Paladin (unless Hpal can have lots of free casts)
Its been outperforming the rest of the classes by a disguisting margin.
I see a lot of uninformed opinions in here.
Expansion is about 1 week away and they still do Beta build updates daily basis? Is this normal or they doing fast last moment changes still? Least it is still flagged Release x64 state and they did quite smoothly test drive of release SL tresstest run i got only very little lag and Maw wasnt crowned. Just hoping this wont be turn nightmare launch as Wod did.
Each Discipline Priest now applies a separate buff for Spirit Shell, when previously each Disc Priest contributed to a single buff. As each Spirit Shell buff is capped at 100% health of the casting priests health, this means that stacking Discipline Priests to create a massive absorb on players may be a strategy during Mythic progression. So we gonna see only disc priests in mythic raids thansk blizzard what a good idea. :) delete pvp we cant do pvp, make impossible to play another SPEC for soem classes cuz of covenants.. and countless things that i dont have time to type in here and for the last now disc priest can stack their shield :D you must be kidding :D gg not well played.
@Zarate I was replying to person I quoted that was justifying the nerf with a reference to a specific streamer performance. Also nerfing a spec in its niche strength is not a wise decision.and yes, i do think that blizz is nerfing with no serious reasons. if you watched beta news/logs/stream before last week (where basically noone played fire & fire didnt get buffed), nothing proved that fire was requiring a nerf.
Everyone debating if Fire Mage nerfs were justified, and as a Demo player, I'm over here just hoping Blizzard tunes us to be viable without being completely broken for once
Demonology is never gonna shine, cause it's a headache to play with pet AI. This is not fun for blizzard nor its players. Only a few locks actually wants to play demo pet nightmare
Stop nerf SP man!
Again & Again... overtuned fire and you keep nerfing frost
This might be downvoted but if you kept up with ppl playing m+ on beta you'll agree with (most) of the Mage nerfs. If you haven't kept up to date, theres the KSM tourney at 7pm CET streamed live on twitch where you should be able to see how strong mages are and why blizzard decided to tune them down a little further, I wonder if Hunters will also see another round of nerfs instead of other classes seeing some buffs.Much needed nerfs for mage. Only now players started realizing how strong Fire mage is, with Kindling it has a 1-min cd for incredible Burst and currently outperforms other dps speccs. All 3 Mage speccs should still be above average, although I don't think the Frostmage Aura change was needed.
