Unfun detected, please buff.
Yikes.
oh lord have mercy, this is scary, but rather entertaining
What the hell? How was nobody at Blizz smart enough to think about this? They have had MONTHS!
This is also the one thing that can cheese the shield not being broken in time on Mythic Sun-King's Salvation at least. No other cheat death, and no immunity, can save anyone else from that ability.
It works like alter time, so if you soulstone yourself in that phase it drops off.
if you have a soulstone the armor will also remove it when your return to your body at the end of forgeborne reveries preventing you from reviving yourself
Wow, how this can go live? QA is just a joke for Blizzard in whole Shadowlands. Just release without thinking any second about it.
Night Fae Soulbind Dreamweaver with Podtender did this early on too. You could double die in the maw if you fell off a cliff. You can get perm stunned and get stuck in an infinite death loop (where you can't move) in Torghast if you get insta-killed. I haven't died in a while so I dunno if it still does it.
Typo's aside, this is a big ouch!
I found two typos in the article. First, in the sentence "Necrolord Soulbind Bonesmith Heirmir's initial trait can case double deaths." you misspelled "cause". Second, in the sentence "Necrolord Soulbind, Bonesmith Heirmir, can can actually be a detriment in the Maw." you wrote "can" twice.
It really seems like Blizzard constantly makes the same mistakes over and over. Some people might remember Raise Ally in WotLK which to me is a replica of that idea. This ability, just like bonesmiths, was usable in ranked pvp until patch 3.0.8 when blizz removed it from working in ranked pvp because it was just too broken. Throughout WotLK this ability was constantly reworked and changed because of its massive amount of issues and ultimately scrapped the whole spell and made it a battle rez for DK. The issue with these types of effects range from minor nuisances to game changing. The worst I've seen this ability be abused for is in RBGs where people have started abusing this by basically death rushing backlines and giving teams no options to stop you. Imagine playing EotS and having a DK rush into your backline and start mass aoe CCing and gripping everyone with abom limb with no way to kill him, or a frost mage sitting at your GY spamming blizzard and slowing your dead from getting back to a fight. 10 seconds might not seem like a long time but in pvp it is game changing.
I mean its nercrolord this effects maybe one or two classes?
I've noticed the soulstone issue since unlocking it a month or so ago. Been around for a while, high risk for sure but I soulstone tanks or healers anyway. Also had happen last night, soulstone did revive me after being the walking armor and not falling off an edge. Before soulstone would not work outright and would be cancelled cause of the first death effect. Also, not very helpful for pvp, you move slower and you basically get shadowlocked/spell-locked for the duration.
rule #1 . dont let your hp reach zero
