It's okay to not want to play something. Some people don't like magic dps, some don't like healing, some don't like skinny experimental dragons. But I'm on that hype train. Look at Demon Hunters. Now picture something just as fun except you're a dragon with healing instead of tanking. :pBlizzard does a really good job when they actually bring in new classes.
My guess the third spec would be a melee dps spec to round out the trio of specs, which incidentally would push the same spec profiles as shamans. Melee, rDPS and healing
Pretty sure the hold to charge mechanic was tried years ago on a dps, and it was hated back then cause it couldn't really be timed with mechanics and too easy to keep being interrupted (which sounds like it could be worse if mid-range) which will be so much more troublesome on a healer. It's basically the same as channeled but without the actual benefit from the start of the castPersonally don't think if it will work unless it's a massive heal that you actually need to work around, how many people have seen tanks get pancaked in dungeons/raids due to stacks/mechanics in less than 3 secs?Move -> start cast -> silenced -> have to move again, this will make the charged cast very low use
Don't forget there is something already that you can look at for some amount of pre-existing build for speculating about the Preservation Evoker - Alexstrasza in HoTS is a healer. One of her AoE targeted abilities looks like it functions almost the exact same as the second gif used. While it's still obviously a stretch and all speculation right now I think she does have some interesting mechanics that we haven't really seen in WoW as of yet. One of her abilities sacrifices her own hp to heal targets and another links her target's healing and her healing together. I don't think its completely unreasonable to assume they'd carry some of that into the Evoker and build it around spending your HP to heal others, speeding up healing on yourself to replenish that pool, potentially even linking a target's hp pool to your own like a mini-spirit link totem.
"Evoker sounds so far like a breath of fresh air"ded
Red = LifeGreen = DreamsBlue = MagicBlack = EarthBronze = TimeI have no idea where they got that Red = Fire and Blue = Frost. If we had to boil down their powers to a specific school of magic, then Red ought to be Nature and Blue Arcane. For that matter, Time-related magic is also Arcane and the Green dragonflight tends to use Nature related magics as well. Earth related magics are generally Nature damage although the Black dragonflight has also used Fire magic a lot in the past presumably due to the relationship between deep earth and heat. That in mind:Red = NatureGreen = NatureBlue = ArcaneBlack = Nature/FireBronze = Arcane.
I think the range will be not at all a problem, and being designed around probably end up as an overall boon. Current limited range heals have a problem because realistically a ranged would stack with ranged and melee with melee, leaving cones and short effects originating from one self to only hit those in their respective groups, requiring moving from one to another if one would wish to heal them that way, and generally shine specifically when all the raid has to stack for a given mechanic. With a breath range around 15-25 yards, Evokers would be standing smack dab in the middle of two, able to heal either group on demand. The only thing they really need is a few 40 range single target ones at the very least to provide targeted healing to those dealing with mechanics away from the boss. Largely the only situation where this would not work is fight designs where ranged are forced to stack 30+ yards away from melee for extended periods(like Sludgefist). But all healers tend to have fights they excel or suck at(or you can be a high DPS one and taken anyways). How much such a fight would end up hurting Evokers also depends on how their breath heals are scaled. Unless it is diminishing returns beyond X targets(so what, like Divine Star and Halo, most abilities are very much target capped) as long as there is given amount of targets in their group it is gonna be fine.
A class thats its going to be next to impossible to play with input lag. you better have that good internet so your sure you charged your spell long enough.
I was the only one that heard a fart sound at 5:05? XDLink to the moment.
Does anyone else think it's wierd that the Class made by Neltharion the Aspect of EARTH doesn't have a spec that represents their creator... say like a Tank spec that uses Black + Red perhaps?
