I don't understand why people are complaining when they won't even be able to upgrade their gear because they can't time keys. Additionally, people are acting like they will need to upgrade every piece of gear through this system, when it's designed so you will only need to upgrade a few pieces and get the rest from raid and the GV.Edit: As a note because I know people will say something, I have 2 pieces I can upgrade with Valor at the moment. 3 pieces if I time a +15 in everything.
from me 2 options 1st option:250 for 200->203400 for 203->207475 for 207->210500 for 210->213750 for 213->2161000 for 216->2201250 for 220->2231500 for 223->226and no weekly cap but soft cap 1000 above that you reach 50% valors up to 2000 (weekly ofc)above 2k you reach 25% valors from all sources (no cap at this point)2nd option:the same as announced but increasing cap every week (new season)1 week 7502 week 10003 week 12504 week 15005 week 17506 week 2000and every other weeks 2kstill 1,5k total capyou can upgrade 2h weapon two wimes in one week ;D
Imagine you've got finally your 210 item - you have to spend 1500 valor points (2 weeks of grind), since its cappedand in the third week you get an weekly vault drop just for that slot. so you wasted 1500 valor points, just because you had to empty your valor cap. gg xDSo they finally came up with an brilliant idea and destroying it via weekly cap and way too expensive upgrade points needed.Fix it by
yeah well this isn't getting my money. terrible game design
Of course, this isn't good enough. People want full 226 gear for a week of running 10s, and nothing less than that will satisfy.Guaranteed if Blizzard released the original Valor point system - which people claimed is what they wanted - that wouldn't be good enough either. "It takes too long to get the items!" "Why aren't they 226?" "Why can't I buy a full set?"Give a mouse a cookie, etc.
I see a lot of you getting all worked up over an article that the author stated was purely speculation. Speculation is defined as the forming of a theory or conjecture "without firm evidence" (emphasis added). So do yourself a favor...wait until Blizz announces how they plan to have the system work.
And this is already the biggest mistake. But Blizz unfortunately lost most of their talents in the recent years. While M+ is entertaining thousands of people, got an active competitive scene and is a lot easier to get in or consume as a viewer it‘s still some 3rd class content for Blizz and not getting enough attention. Raiding, much more difficult to get in and pretty boring for the average audience outside fully invested wow players, is still considered more important. RWF gets a fair amount of attention, during 1-2 weeks, every 6-8 months, between 2-3 main guilds and channels, globally. The thing is, Blizz has either a bunch of apes at their HR who only manage to employ 1/2heads or they just really got a curse on them. Seeing projects like HotS, HS and Overwatch competitive scenes development in the past 5 years, not to talk about WC and SC2....makes me almost cry. worldclass games and poorest product lifecycles ever. as if they were not designed to stay but to create huge hyperino and short-termed financial goals #activision.TLDR: M+ needs to get more attention by blizz and should involve more rewards, gearwise as well as „cosmetic“, be from the beginning on designed to meet competitive purposes while still be fun for the average players. like every other competitive title.
Why does everyone always assume all pvp players are upgrading to 226? It is an extremely small number of people. The average pvp player has to grind to hit 1600 if ladder data is to be believed.
I was happy about this when i first heard the news. Not anymore. Takes way too long to upgrade a single item. And Keystone Master to go beyond 213? I'm guessing that's account wide (no, i didnt read everything). And 220 is the limit? Wow.....
My guess (as some comments suggested earlier) that it will work similiar to the upgrades for anima in your covenant. Costs ramp up for each upgrade. It makes no sense that pgrades from 213 to 220 cost the same as from 184 to 200. The current suggested cap is also very prohibitive for S01 - as S01 is already running for several months now. The current iteration of the system in 9.0.5 is probably just a field test to see where they need to dial in the values for 9.1
It seems kind of messed up that a Fury Warrior has to spend 2000 Valor on just weapons alone. Would it not make sense to duplicate the two-handed melee weapons, add a Warrior class requirement to the duplicates, and set the cost at 750 each (at least)?
People seem to casually forget that you need to be 2400+ to fully upgrade PVP gear...
Why did they even add this system if it is obvious they want nobody in the game to take advantage of it.
