I am seriously hoping to get playable Murlocs. It does fit with all the help we give Murky to found the first friendly Murloc clan. Also I'd LOVE IT if we go back to Azeroth to find the factions shattered and everybody hating us, so we could FINALLY move on from the old Alliance vs Horde binary. After all, that's what has been happening since MoP, proof after proof that there is no place for stupid faction bickering in Azeroth.
Do not want Sylvannas to become a bad guy. I love her! I agree with another player and hope they bring back Vol'jin. Thay would be just awesome. Finally I think there would be more void action in the old areas (like the 2 main continents) with the Old Gods helping along the way.
Well, clearly we have to venture to an alternate timeline, visit a future version of Azeroth which is now an adolescent titan. With her guidance, we manage to figure out how to use the blood of her alternate self to lead Sargeras into a trap. We didn't expect the void lords to also show up, though, so the titans help fight the void lords. A giant explosion occurs - think antimatter-matter explosion -, shattering the universes and timelines and everything. After that:You wake up in WOW2, as a fresh level 1 char.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytAqHdeamL411:45 Kinda gave away that the next xpac will indeed be naga, queen azshara based also in the devs answers that there is a southern area that will be revealed eventually that is equator/ desert like.... desert Naga? south seas? Continent on the other side of azeroth?
Others have already stated it, but I think it's obvious the next expansion is will involve the Old Gods and/or the Void. With the end of the Legion there aren't that many major antagonists left, and both of these have been hinted at in this expansion, the Old Gods in the Emerald Nightmare and the Void with the whole business with Alleria. I'd like a return to the Old Gods personally, C'thun and Yogg-Saron's arcs (especially YS's in Grizzly Hills, Storm Peaks then Ulduar) were really cool.
I'm honestly not really sure. I would really love to see if speculation about vojin being alive is true.... id also like to see what jaina is up to, and if shes going to go all dark side
... Am i the only one finding obvious as to why Azshara want the TIDEstone of Golganeth ? I mean, come on... Raising the sea level of Azertoh seems pretty obvious.
I called a Nylotha expansion that was heavy on the Naga when Legion launched and we got a glimpse of what Azshara's been up to. Also, N'zoth has tentacles and eyeballs all over the Emerald Nightmare, so exploring that looming threat and possibly digging into the Void behind the Old Gods seems (un)natural. So far, I'm sticking with that call after the events on Mac'Aree.
I'm pretty certain that the new expansion will be Old God related. There is just way too much evidence pointing towards that for it to be anything else.Kul'tiras will be the new Dalaran (as well as one of the new questing zones), and the faction will be akin to the Kirin Tor currently.Jaina will be the new Khadgar, with certain events forcing her to accept the Horde as necessary allies.I personally don't think (or hope) there will be any new classes or races, but rather that there will be more customization options for our current characters. Wildhammer and Dark Iron dwarves, Highmountain and Taunka tauren. That sort of thing. If they DO introduce a new race (following their pattern of alternating new races and classes) it would have to be another neutral race (like Pandaren) which leads me to believe it would be the Ethereals.Another thing I speculate (which wasn't covered here) is that once we lose our Artifact weapons - yep, it's gonna happen - we will craft new weapons for ourselves, possibly using the Netherlight Crucuble, which we can then customize the appearance of (to a certain degree).I look forward to BlizzCon and the reveals that will be coming our way, and can only hope that the new expansion surpasses all expectations.
As many have said, I see old gods, void lords being central to the expansion. First we'll see their agents, like Azshara and her Naga, maybe brainwashed Kul Tiras people (hence the datamined armor sets). The old gods will be interested in harvesting Azeroth's blood from that wound Sargeras creates as a final act of malice. After first raid tier (with Azhara as probable end boss), we will battle more old gods and void lords directly. Possible an Old God like N'zoth will be the first tier final boss and Azhara will be second tier though. We'll have to learn to harness void magic like Locust Walker and Allerira have been doing, in order to have a chance to defend against the chaos....
I feel like we're gonna get more of content in old Azeroth zones like a void invasions with world quests and mini scenarios in the end.Sure hope for more naga and Azshara stories as well as Kul Tiras isle zones to level through and explore. I would not want to visit any alien worlds any time soon and certainly look forward to spent more time in our old capital cities. Miss that big city feel I had in Cataclysm.Other that that, I do not believe we'd get any new races and\or classes and it's fine. More customization options for current combos would be cool though.
I most definitely think the next expansion will be about the void. There have been a lot of hints pointing that way all throughout Argus and even some places in the Broken Isles. One thing I hope doesn't happen in the next expansion is Jaina turning evil. I just feel the whole good guy gone bad is so overplayed within WoW.
Id love if we had a naga expansion after this one that built up into the old gods half way thru or lead into the old god expac after. Then have that lead up to the void lords.
I think that if they don't do another Cataclysm for the next expansion it will be a HUGE missed chance of doing the right thing. It's the perfect time to implement new life into old zones with the scaling tech, World Quests, rares, tresaures... it HAS to be done. Instead of pulling continents from nowhere, please please work to keep alive those that we already have.
To be honest I'm completely hoping that Jaina Proudmoore becomes the next expansions main villain/final boss.
When reading this article from Nobbel87 and the section regarding the Il'gynoth Whispers, my head just really exploded. Making the connections and how everything turned out, that from the point the Emerald Nightmare was released the future of the expension was already 'played' out was just awesome! And there are so many possibilities for future expension when ready this!I'm just do hyped about what it could be and how everything is going to play out! But what i'm hoping what will happen with the future expension.Reading this I can only think that there has to be old gods involved, making the connections to C'Thun and Yogg'saron and the titan soul of Azeroth. These have to play a great role! Hopefully in this case the Klaxxi will get involved again due to the connection they have to the gods as well, but it will be dark! As Nobbel has mentioned, Jaine and Sylvanas will be involved. It has to be! Just can't wait!
Personally I'm hoping for some Cataclysm-esque changes to Azeroth, to show the effect the wound in Silithus has on the planet. Revamping old questing zones, removing some (some coastal zones get swallowed by the sea) and adding others (new mountain ranges and islands forcing themselves up as Azeroth reacts to being injured) etc.New races could be interesting, especially if they went with the Ethereals joining the Alliance and the Naga joining the Horde, but fitting a level 1 of either into the existing story seems difficult without reworking the zones to make more sense. Having Ethereals/Naga quest through Northrend and building up to the fall of Arthas, or Cataclysm and the defeat of Deathwing seems odd as they were not involved in those events originally. I know Blizzard did do that with the Pandaren, they quest through those zones and participate in those events, but it rankles me a bit as the Pandaren were only discovered after Cataclysm. But I'm just being nit-picky :D I would still definitely play whatever new race is added.Final thought: Zone scaling. I'm very much in the FOR camp.although I believe a zone should only scale from it's current minimum required level up to max instead of every zone scaling to any level. Just leave Dungeons and Raids unscaled so that people can still farm if necessary, we have Timewalking for those who want to experience them scaled.
I think that it would definitely be an old god expansion, with C'thun returning/dying maybe we'll be able to speak to an actual avatar of Azeroth (the titan). we're also probably going to go to kul'tiras and I think that we will go to Zandalar aswell. I hope that we will get a revamped world with southshore and many other stuff back. I also hope that we will get either shadow hunter as a class (though i'm not sure if any alliance race could use it, maybe night elves since they evolved from trolls) or dark&light ranger and finally I hope that we will get ships like garrisons, that you could travel azeroth's seas with and reach areas with it and maybe find some isles that have hidden treasure on them.
So, since there will be changes on Azeroth it looks like we will get some rework of old content again. I hope this time we will also be able to go back to all the previous versions (via time travel as in Blasted Lands).
I reckon it's entirely possible that Jaina is going to snap and set her sights on wiping out the horde, maybe due to whispers of an old god in her mind. Perhaps the Alliance will have to band together with the horde to stop the crazed mage. Or it will be something to do with the old gods, maybe one is going to semi re-awken and cause chaos on azeroth. Band together with an unlikely ally and fend off the minions that try and worm their way into the council of various important azeroth figures.
