i can't see any changes.
Since it looks like some races (Forsaken) might be getting posture adjustments, can Draenei males get their necks back, PLEASE? >.<
So for all of you complaining about dark skinned Blood Elves, dwarves or whatever not being 'lore accurate', what does that actually mean? The only race for which skin tone makes any degree of 'realistic' sense is Draenei, and that's because with their blood being blue that their flesh is naturally tinged blue by the presence of that blood in it. That's it... that's the ONLY race where there is any degree of 'realism' at play. But there's no lore reason for why their blood is blue. But why are dark skinned Blood Elves, dwarves and humans singled out? If not for an element of real life racism? Because as I've just said, there's no justification for why Night Elves are purple, Trolls are blue, Orcs are brown or indeed any of the human-like races have beige skin.I mean think about it for a moment, when have you ever seen a white fully robotic mechagnome? They're usually brown, green, blue or even purple, but I've never seen a human skin-toned fully mechanised gnome. The explanation is of course the 'Curse of Flesh', but then where does the skin tone come from? Why are there no purple, blue or green skinned mechagnomes corresponding to their pre-curse skin colours? Maybe there will be, but this is to say that black gnomes could be easily explained by just being part of the same process that made beige skinned gnomes in the first place.Same thing for dwarves. Dwarves are descended from Earthen who are all kinds of earthy tones, Black dwarves make as much sense, if not more, as Dark Iron dwarves do, or those blue dwarves from Northrend, they're derived from constructs who were made of stone and naturally have earthy skin tones as a result. Now blood elves? Why are Blood Elves even beige skinned in the first place, being derived from a race where purples, pinks and blues are the natural skin tone and there's not a hint of earthy, brown to beige skin tones at all. The lore justification behind the transition from a purple race to a beige race is that they were exposed to the Sunwell and the resulting mutations caused their skin to turn earthy toned and they can now have browns, reds and yellows in their hair colours. So what does that mean? It means that you can easily infer that black skinned Blood Elves are a result of the same Sunwell magic that made Blood Elves beige skinned in the first place. Why haven't we seen them before? Well the same reason we haven't seen humans with purple eyes before, or Night Elves with tattoos... because the options weren't there in the game but they could have easily been said to have existed this whole time.Dark skinned humans? We already have examples and justification of this in Traveller where some of the humans are dark skinned due to living in Stranglethorn, specifically Booty Bay. But again, they're derived from a race which was entirely different to them, Vrykul. Yeah Vrykul have beige skin by and large, but there's also Vrykul who have blue skin and other variations. But nobody ever asks why Vrykul are beige in the first place. Sure they live in Northrend so from a real world perspective being 'pale' makes some degree of sense, but why are they even human toned at all? Does that really matter? Does anyone really care? Vrykul would have made just as much sense being blue as they do being human toned. This is all to say that this focus on certain skin tone customisation as being 'pandering' or somehow against lore, if not being racist, are applying different standards for races who don't have human-like skin than they are for races with human-like skin. To say nothing of the fact that when Blizzard have come out and said in a recent interview that all of the customisation changes have been discussed with the lore team and given the greenlight, people have now basically said 'It's not the lore I believe in', so really it's a case of people deciding for themselves what should and shouldn't be in WoW and doesn't actually seem to have much to do with 'muh lore'. At the end of the day, what is character customisation if not to pander to player fantasies. Personally I welcome as much customisation as possible and I look forward to seeing what they have planned for all the remaining races.Anyway, most people for whom this concerns probably won't read this, but I hope people consider in future why exactly it is that a black skinned elf offends them where a green troll or purple Draenei doesn't, because they all make about as much sense.
I see alot of ppl sayng we cant have red Dreaei cuz of "lore" to that all i will say is Orc's
For what I can tell, Blood elves are more pinkish than beige. Anyway it's nice to get some darker skintone to play with or for npc to use.
I'm on the Alpha and half of these choices are not available to me when making a Draenei. Where are you guys getting these and how do we know they will actually be available?
All this and they still can't fix that atrocity of a pony tail that they for some reason changed after Mists of Pandaria
is it just me or the Draenei have cute butts :P
Still no pink hair! Cowards!
I love the purple skin tone and hair color but most of the hair colors look the same as the colors we already have.
I'm sorry, but what is the change here? They look the same as before!
Since you gave the blood elves the blue eyes of the highest, then give the draenei the skin of the eredar.
I am so in love with some of these new customizations they added for my babies. I can't wait to see the final customization list because I'd love for more horn options, which I think they should add like the Vulperas the option to have a broken horn. Plus I am ready for the tail customization. I saw earlier that blood elves might get body jewelry, but I firmly think if that is something to be added that Draenei should get that because they are jewelcrafters. They could get bracelets/cuffs, necklaces, jewelry to hang on their horns, earrings, and even tail cuffs. I just think it'd fit in their racial profession background and add another layer of player expressiveness. 💓
THICKER TAILS FOR DRAENEI WOMEN PLEASE! It's cool that they are longer now but they look like a limp noodle! GIVE SOME THICKNESS!
I agree, red skin would not only be a DISTINCT and NEW skin tone above any we already have; but also the lore is fine with it. As stated, the don't all have had to be genocidal villains. Just like not all Nightborne were Legion supporters (forgot about that eh?), just like not all Zandalari were Mogu allies that tried to kill both Alliance and Horde at every turn, and just like the Dark Iron (who actually always were enemies of everyone) are now a strong allied race.
Es injusto que los draenei masculinos sólo tengan tres pieles nuevas cuando estamos viendo cicatrices, ojos ciegos, joyas por el cuerpo, etc..... en otras razas. Los draeneis están abandonados en caracterización.
