Blizzard's attempt to make WoW "Noob Friendly" and wrecked the game for everyone else in my opinion. I know this is not the final version but I was really looking forwards to seeing the current talent system updated and improved with a few new talents, not this new idea. The Holy Priest talents are totally wrong, Holy Priests are meant to raid heal, and/or help with tank healing but this spec forces you to learn talents that improve single target healing spells, so why go holy spec when you can just go disc? Blizzard need to re-think their idea and hopefully we will see the old talents tweaked and updated for Cataclysm. (Also, bring back Moonkin Form!)

This really sucks,Now talents really make a difference. You can have 2 equal geard tanks but if one of them is missing critical talents you will really notice a difference. The also left us with almost now choices to make when making a talents tree. :(
How exciting I get to be a hunter's pet. This is pretty dull and I hope they change the concept around. I can admit there were some really bloated trees and tallents that could have used some trimming for example furor should of been a 3 point tallent ages ago. The rogue's combat tree is another example where I feel they could use some consolidation. More choices and options make things interesting
When blizz said that there wont be bigger trees, I loved that. For me it ment more character customization, different builds (like 21/35/5), which didnt involve "spending 10 new talent points in the same !@#$ing tree beacuse new 51 point ability is a !@#$ing imba and everyone uses it"And what do I see now? I have to spend 77% of my talent points to be able to go "hybryd"? Great! Team Fortress 2 gonna have more customization with its hats and items than WoW. Would be better if it was 21/20 than 31/10/ I mean wtf - we pick spec, we use that spec only, and dump the others. 30 spells and abilities down to 15 spells and abilities, and 15 useless icons.
One...handed...fury!
Personally, I'm OK with the 41 points. Also, being locked in a single tree for 31 points does not make me too unhappy. Sure, I'd love to have more freedom, but I understand that by leaving only 10 points for off-spec trees it is now possible for Blizzard to put imba talents starting from tier 3. Balance in this way is easier to achieve, I guess. What I do not understand is why trees are only about 42 points total. I'd have expected shorter but "wider" trees: i.e. at L85 we would have a limited choice of off-spec talents, but plenty of in-spec choices. As it stands now, there is almost zero choice: you exclude the worst ~3 talents and take everything else in-spec, then pick ~3 off-spec talents. Having ~60 points in each tree would be much better, even with the current cata restrictions.BTW, almost every talent of the holy priest seems to have been somehow nerfed IMO... many of them are just the current ones, but with fewer ranks so they provide a smaller bonus once maxed. Others provide the same bonus, but require the same number of talent points, hence doubling the required level-ups. I hope this will be changed.
People say tthat we will be struggling and were going to be swamped with 10 year-olds.End game content will still be here, Deathwing will still be a fight, and gear will be compensating for your new trees.Ahh my fellow WoWers, so many of you are scared youre having your armbands removed and being set out into open ocean. Armbands being your 264 epics, your Elitist Jerks based forum builds and youre predefined rotation that isnt even your own, and the open ocean that is new trees that have taken your *5% extra bla bla* and *Increases your...* Talents. Now, I cannot begin to stress how much you will not be missed if you leave, nor does anyone here really care. I would maybe if you take me out for a coffee sometime but as for now? If you really want to keep your armbands but have no pool to play in, shoo now while your gear is good, lording over your character selection screen. *My.....Precious...*Rant over, if you have read this to the end, help yourself to a cookie.
I just love how people get blinded by size and quantity. Why are you people even complaining about the lack of choice..No don't tell me you had much up untill now,90% of wow players used standard cookie cutter builds approved by the elitist nerds. People cant seem to see that Blizzard just scaled down the quantity of bull@#$% talents.Check them out as they are now,by number there are more talents..but your choices are as few as they ever were Choices? You never had any..PVP build? spend points in this,PVE build-this way...the only customization left boiled down on the last few leftover talent points-even then the choices where narrow as usually only one other talent tree provided considerable enough bonuses..either that or fill out your main talent tree some more. I personally think that talent trees should define a class, not tie it down to ''Now you can only do this!".Ive seen terribad players using the same build i did.Do you think he actually thought''Why should i pick this?''...No,but everybody else was using it...so it had to be good. With talents not so much in the spotlight, perhaps they will finally get around rethinking class spells and abilities. I seriously find it ironic that instead of focusing on adding more change to core class spells, people are more worried with changing the talents that change the spells.
I believe it's granted when you choose Balance as your specialization.
